Diamonds have a practical usage outside of rings. It is a fantastic gem! But overhyped as a ring. I think a great choice is always one a stone she personally wants. You dont need a diamond. what about other stones?? Several stones exists outside of diamond that are equally as pretty. corporations have tricked us all into only accepting diamond! Id say leave diamonds for their best usage, cutting things 😂

One thing a real diamond is and is used for that the cubic or moisenite are not and that is they sre known as one of the hardest things on the planet and that's what Diamonds are used in saw blades for cutting tile and stone

According to Wikipedia UV light turns moissenite red to slightly orange. The stone you show that you call a diamond that didn't turn blue does flash a tiny bit of red. Are you sure you don't have them mixed up? Very interesting subject. Thank you.

I don't think regular people are gonna invest in a diamond tester, microscope, go to school to learn these things, or remove a diamond, moissanite, zirconia, or lab grown from the setting to check the stone. From where everyone will look at the stone, which is a few feet or more, they will all look the same, but for a lot less money. I prefer the moissanite stone over the real diamond because it looks better.

you mention long wave UV, what do you use? 365nm or even longer 265nm? I was testing with 265nm and had little response but 365nm seemed to optimal.

My mom proposed to my step dad 20 years ago, and a couple of years ago my sister proposed to her now husband, by hiding the ring in a mini marzipan cake that she bought for their anniversary. 14 years ago, I was pushing an oversized, stuffed shopping cart out the front section of the supermarket after checking out and my cart was stooped suddenly by an item that made one wheel screech to a very loud stop. The sound had echoed throughout the whole store, too. I backed the cart up and looked down to see what I first thought might have been a tack, but I could tell what it was. I picked it up without thinking and took it outside where I could see it better(I didn't bring my glasses so I was blurry-eyed). I was curious as to what made that loud sound, and what had stopped a full very heavy shopping cart. Once outside the store I held the item up to the sunlight and a gazillion sparkles emitted from the tiny thing. The store said no one had reported a diamond lost, and I gave them my phone number in case someone did inquire. I still got "the thing", too. It's about 1.25 carats in size and scratches glass. It's either an expensive dust collector or a wannabe diamond. The pawn shop can't tell me squat, nor could the jewelry store I went into. What's a broke as a joke guy gotta do to cash in treasure if it's real honest treasure?

The production of moissanites and lab diamonds are not controlled. You will never resell it. Soon it will be so dirt cheap. But natural diamonds are forever.

So, just buy moissanite. Just as nice looking, a fraction of the cost.

A lab created diamond 🔧 👨‍⚕️ is a real diamond 💎 like Almond 🌰 milk is real milk 🐄🥛 or Tang is orange juice 🍊. You can tell me it’s a diamond, milk, and orange drink all you want, but I know you are lying to yourself and me.

I much prefer Cubic Zirconia. It has the same 'hardness' of Topaz. It has an interesting formula (Zr O2/Zirconium Dioxide). Diamond is only Carbon. And it's heavier than diamond. And if well cut, its 'brilliance' (sparkle) is very good.

I have a moissanite wedding set for daily wear. (My real set uses heirloom diamonds I don’t want to lose or mar.) It sparkles much more than my diamond and shows a beautiful spectrum in sunlight. I wouldn’t bother to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a diamond when the moissanite is equally if not more beautiful. Another plus for moissanite is the Mohs hardness. A moissanite is almost as hard as a diamond.
