Hi my e46 m3 I remove the cluster and put it back on and now my garages don’t work everything else does any idea appreciate your help also my LCD screen where can I get it
Doing mine on my m3 all the needles came off easy but on the speedometer and the rpm’s the shaft came off with the needles. Is this supposed to be to happen ?
No, shaft is not supposed to come out.
How do I keep it from coming out and if they do come out. Will gauges still work ?
My cluster on my m3 all the analog gauges stopped working. I bought a used cluster and I was going to just swap my original m35080 chip to the replacement cluster. That way I have correct mileage and no tamper dot. The shafts came off with the speed and ramp needles when removing. Which it’s the cluster that analog does not work. So it’s not that big of deal. But I definitely don’t want them to come off on the replacement cluster that I’m putting in. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. This cluster you made on the video is amazing best one I’ve ever seen in e46 m3
I did just as I described in the video. Squeeze and twist while pulling up. None of the shafts came up. Honestly I’ve done 3 clusters and they all came up the same.
Ok thank you. Do you do this as a service for money ? How much to make my m3 cluster like yours in this video ?
Man I’m scored to do any of this, but I really want to it really changes everything
It’s really not that bad. You got this.
Long live BMW E46 M3 !!!♥♥♥ OO=[][]=OO OO=[][]=OO Wow great job
My cluster on my e46 m3. All electrical work but no analog works. The guy I bought the car from. Said everything worked fine before he replaced the battery in car. I checked fuses and they are good. What do you think it could be ?
What if you use white leds instead of orange ones on the display? Will the numbers become white ? I would love to have white leters with black background, looks much more modern
Does anyone know where to get the colored sheet of plastic for LCD screen? Please I need help 🙏
You can order them on Amazon or other shopping services
I have several 3528s left over from the dash (200 came in the package), can I use them for the steering wheel?
The only thing about this that I don't like is that you lose the classic orange BMW glow, but the LEDs make the numbers so much more crisp and clean. Might do this but with amber leds instead to retain the color
Well then you wouldn't do anything because OEM is amber LEDs. The whole car is amber LEDs for the most part.
Man i have one question. Have you tried to change small bulb in the front and back ashtray and also on the roof where the light thing is? I dont know what bulb to use
Thank you bro for this nice Video! Because i can tell you all guys don’t use the 0805 leds.. it’s to dark and the leds are not white as de other stuff.. I must use the plcc2 LEDs I think it’s better with colour and the brightness! Nice videos bro i also have make new the upper lights in white he was also before orange it’s very easy guys
Hi how much would you charge to do this
Wouldn’t be worth your money honestly. I value my time quite high and shipping back and forth would put the price way out of what it’s worth, in my opinion.
Even if I’ was happy to pay the costs & have everything done like you have on your own car light switches etc
Bro you are a legend, i watched all your videos and did it all myself, whole car. Thank you very much!
Have you tried polarizer film on LCD screen to get it white color?
I haven’t
Just a small tip for someone planning on doing this. I have cluster that is 1999 and I do not have pin above "car" to light up whole cluster's background. So you just need to connect power(12V) to pin 7 on black connector and obviously ground😁
@CroVlado what stereo unit is that in your video?
Several years old xtrons android unit. They run in the $300 range
Eonon headunits are best for the e46!
Looks awesome!! But i kinda still prefer the stock fore some reason. But Still! Looks great!
can this be done to e39 ?
Yeah
Great video, it will help me a lot when i do this, just got my e46.. Can you send me some link from aliexpress because i can’t find what smds to use ?
Hi can you send me the link for the LEDS my 2015 x5 the right signal light went out.i also have 2002 m3 and i want to try this kind of tuff.great job please let me know
There is no particular link. Search on eBay or AliExpress and buy the LEDs you need for your project. If you need help identifying LEDs, a search engine will be your friend. Good luck with your project.
Thanks for your reply I will subscribe to you can you tell me the LDE You use on the M3
so ive had all the lights in my e46 converted to blue for like 3 years now well all of them but my head light switch... that damn fog light switch
i also changed everything except fog light switch haha
Nice... Have you done this on the Climate control module?
Yes
What leds did you mention could be purchased from ebay instead of soldering
Good job sir, how will it cost me if i have to contract you for this nice job? 1. The instrumental cluster 2. Steering wheel buttons 3. Air-conditioning switches 4. The window controls switches
Sorry, not taking on any work. Summer time is way too busy, I won’t be able to do it in a reasonable amount of time. It’s pretty easy to do. I bet you could do it.
Hi, what are the sizes of the leds?
PLCC2
I cant get the bulbs on either screen cluster and hvac screens to light up anyone have any suggestions. Thank You
Hello every time i disconnect the cables ftom ac it start working. How to stop it
I don’t understand the question.
@@CroVlado0510 when i disconnect the cables behind the A/C, i hear the AC in the car blow air.(on vens left and right)
Do you have your keys in the ignition and the ignition on? It shouldn’t do anything. If not, you may have electrical problems if it runs with no key in it.
Electrical problems
do you know what will happen if i remove the resistors through the switch?
Probably blow the LED. Try it, find out.
I have a problem with only one window button on the right The led glow only for 0.2sec and then off i try all the swaps but still not working any ideas? Do you know what colors in cable have the power?
Does it turn on each time for .2sec and quit or does it stop working completely until swapped? Do you have it wired in correct orientation? I don’t know which color provides power but you should be able to find it pretty quickly with a multimeter
jai utiiser de l'ancre bleu dun stylo jai colorer en bleu et ca marcher tres bien
English?
@@CroVlado0510 I used blue ink from a pen I colored blue inside and it works very well
Great to hear
@@CroVlado0510 I have a small question for the meter lcd screen, is it possible to make the backgrounds black and the text white? I don't know if you know what I mean
It’s not. At least I couldn’t figure it out. The screen it shines thru is blue so whatever tint you put on top of it just causes different variations of blue or it gets way too dark and the text isn’t legible once you get enough tint behind it that the background becomes black.
Good job!
Need help how did you add the red diffuser sheet onto your needles ? You said you cut them into holes ? Can you elaborate further as I am going to do this retrofit soon and just needed some clarification. Can converse through email if wanted.
Turn the needles over and cut red diffusion sheets in the shape under the needle so it fits over the center hole where it attaches to the cluster. Slide it in there and put a tiny dab of hot glue in there to hold it in place. If you cut it tight enough it can use surface tension against the hole to keep it inside but it’s though to cut that small hole perfectly. Hope that makes sense.
why removing the orange backing from the lcd screen when it will still be orange in the end?
It’s red in the end. Not sure what display you’re watching on but it’s color accuracy may be off.
Great videos, amaizing details. But i have one question. How do i know where is possitive and where is negative on the board? Also i have some 3528 white SMDS. Will those work? Thank you for your time.
The LEDs are marked with a cut corner. They may but I don’t know if they’ll be the same brightness. Considering they’re a couple dollars on aliexpress there’s no reason not to use what you take out.
Thanks for your reply, i figured that out afterall. I managed to replicate your work fallowing your steps. Thank you for my ‘’new’’ cluster.
@@enciumarian2112 that’s great! Hope you enjoy.
You make this look so easy it’s insane
This one is probably one of the easier ones honestly. Haha. The headlight switch and hazard switches kinda sucked tho
You should sell this as a service lol I’d be more than willing to pay to have this done because I already broke two 😅
You broke two switches doing this? What broke?
Right.. I'd gladly send mine to him lol
Hello Sir, I am from Germany would you accept a customer? i would like what you did on your Cluster to be done on my E46's Cluster also.
Honestly I don’t think it would be worth the cost. Shipping from Germany to USA and all the way back would probably be expensive on top of cost to do this work. You can message me on discord if you want to talk about it CroVlado#8786
after replacing the indicators, does the brightness wheel work?
Yes
Man you seem like a cool dude, you want to work on any projects let me know I'm always doing something or another on the e46. Glad I found your channel
Appreciate it. My focus seems to be all over the price. Got some home projects to do, still have some more buttons and other car things to do, on top of just work and family balance. I need to finish up on the car soon.
Is it possible to put the diffuser foil directly on the led?
I’m sure it’s possible. I didn’t try it that way tho. Sorry I can’t help on that. Not sure if the light diffusion will be the same. Give it a try. Let me know. May be the easier way.
@@CroVlado0510 Thanks for the fast answer. I ordered everything and will start with the tachometer. I will let you know how it worked out.
@@fenerbahce2 Hey, I know it is a year later, but did it work? Diffuser over the original led?
It wouldn’t work over the original orange LED; you would still have to change to white and then diffuse it over with blue-ish color so the more yellow color of the face would come out white.
@@CroVlado0510 I see. By the way, since you're here. Have you ever made this into a business aka do it for us (the ones that lack the skills, haha)? Do you take this service inquiries?
Can I send u parts & pay for you to do the jobs?
Maybe this winter, pretty busy with work and home projects at the moment
I'm amazed at the detail..I'm trying to change cluster colours on a daihatsu copen..dont like the orange...I've learnt so much from your video...shouldn't be too different I guess..thanks again. Great work
Most of this should apply as long as they use surface mount LEDs. Match the type of LED and take note of polarity and you should should be good to go.
Where could I buy the white LEDs to do this?
@stevengonzalez-me7uy Ali express, eBay, lots of places
What device are you using to connect the LED lights?
What do you mean? Are you looking for the specific soldering iron I’m using or?
Where can I buy these LEDs?
Lots of places. AliExpress, eBay, Amazon, LightHouseLEDs, etc.
@@CroVlado0510 can you throw me a link of the ones you used? Thanks!
I don’t have one. I just typed in what I was looking for in AliExpress and clicked the one with most sales and reviews. It’s all the same.
@@CroVlado0510 they are called SMD led right?
PLCC2 smd led
Thx!!!!
Thx for video,i love this
Thx for videos,i love this
Love these videos! Keep 'em coming! Got any links for parts?
None in particular. eBay if you don’t want wait forever and AliExpress if you want it cheaper but don’t mind waiting. PLCC2 LEDs 3mm LED If doing it in white and your light switch is also made of a yellow plastic, rosco 3202 gel
@@CroVlado0510 do you use 12v leds or less?
@@georgimilev6786 these LEDs are 3V. Same as the ones that come out of the car just different colors. I believe all plcc2 LEDs are 3V.
Amazing vid brother what’s ur ig I just have a question because my temperature gauge for some reason stoped working
I don’t have insta, I have fb mostly for some car groups. I don’t stay active on social media.
