Godzilla should be on the top of the list, it's a class above the rest
great video and series 👊 subbed
Too bad TMNT is so low on this list. THat game is fun, but hard!
Hey second from the top isn't too bad!!!
@@NightlitePinball I would never own it if I was a TMNT collector though . The games animations are not so true to the series
The only pinball animal I care about is the Bally Williams cow. Been in more games than any other animal and ten for ten need Williams cow merch!
how did i forget the COW
@@NightlitePinball NOT THE COW
Believe Junkyard dog is named spike. If I’m remembering correctly there is a call out where the woman calls him spike.
It also says “Spike” on the playfield and the DMD. Didn’t realize there’s a callout where she calls him Spike!
You're absolutely right - it literally says spike on the promo pic i used 😆
😂
you did this.
Thx finally some one who has an opinion about pinball tables and not just look up the 10 popular machines and just switch 2 to 1 or else. good job…enjoyed mostly the time when you are as the German s say „zwischen Baum und Borke sitzen“ ähhh wait „to be stuck between a rock and a hard place“ And then the facts pro and cons list Alan Harper style 5 to nada fun, future fun, competition s uspects spoken like a pro bibibeldibaldibum BUT I like “the other one more!”
This is great content!
What sandwiches do you like ?
Love this series. Keep up the nice work!
Always dig ranking vids; I love to hear the WHYs when people favor a given pin. I hope you know how crazy-lucky you are (not to _live_ in NYC, but) to have that much _access_ to even PLAY this full spectrum of pins, spanning its epochs. 😮💨 I’d have to do an aboriginal _walkabout_ to find some of these pins! 👀 I’m glad to see more towns opening pincades/barcades, pushing this renaissance right now. ✌️
I wanted one of those plaques so bad... you earned it!
Depending on your area you might have a couple release tournaments if you're lucky!!! I have two more happening at different venues in the city i'm still planning on attending 😉
Is this for the Pro line or Premium line model
@@robertvurno6297 it’s a general rating, because a game like game of thrones has a vastly different premium, while Deadpool doesn’t change that much. Most of my experience on these games has been pros, however
3:49 - Big Guns 12:33 - Diamond Lady 16:40 - Hotdoggin 20:35 - Quicksilver 25:48 - Spectrum 32:58 - Extra Content & Outro
Ugh. What masochist put Spectrum in the tournament? It's on the IFPA banned list for a reason. Researching games you're unfamiliar with is great prep. Before going to Pinburgh, I spent months compiling a short strategy guide for games I'd never played before, and it helped immensely. And if you can't find info on a game, just watch a top player play it whenever you're free. At INDISC, I only needed 30 seconds of watching Keith Elwin play Rescue 911 to figure out what to do on that game.
@@OutlandishZathrus I’ll be volunteering for a couple hours and my eyes will be PEELED on certain games haha
lol What ban list? Also what is the "reason" it's on the list?
@@gabechaz To be fair, the IFPA doesn't have an official "banned list". But it does have an unofficial list of games it recommends not using in tournaments for a variety of reasons. You can find some of those games listed on the IFPA site under Resources > Director's Guide > Game Notes. For Spectrum: "Spectrum suffers from a highly unusual competitive layout, causing games to last an exorbitant amount of time in a competitive environment when compared to other games from the same era. In addition to the playfield layout leading to exorbitant game times from average to expert players, potentially causing backups in tournament queueing systems or scheduling, Spectrum’s scoring strategies are obscure to new players, making it a poor choice for novice divisions as well. When all factors are considered, tournaments are encouraged to find a better option. Tech Notes: Remove legs, bolts, fold down the head, and wheel it back to the truck." I've only seen Spectrum used in a tournament once, and these notes are spot on. The game has no outlanes and every made saucer shot returns safely to a flipper. Our 4-player game lasted 2 hours. That's why my initial reaction to Spectrum was "Ugh."
Insanity. 😂 Comment for the algorithm!
It's just your opinion but overall I'd say this list is not very indicative of most people's preferences. Some crazy choices here.
I love your ranking videos. They are so in-depth that I learn a lot about these games.
@@MauiPunter glad to hear!!! It’s always gonna be subjective so I’m glad that there’s other things people are gaining from the content too 😊
Would consider myself a reaction based player. Love to play flowy, but learned to slow down and try to find shots and strategies during play. When you're a decent/good, but not a great player, it always helps to get a feel for the speed of the table, find out how the flippers are set up, and which shots/targets to avoid in order to be able to not get punished when you still miss and need to find certain shots for a while.
@@kressenstein there’s definitely a period in which you start getting better rapidly because you find the playstyle you’re comfy with! Glad you found yours.
Very nice--enjoyed hearing you talk through these. I looove Star Gazer..
@@jordankalt star gazer is so incredibly good
Loved this video! My work has a FF so I’ve been able to spend a hours on it and you are absolutely right, there are so many different things you can focus on but you never feel drowned by code. I also like that it doesn’t feel like a generic “band pin.” I love that you gave it to Driver, that game is a beast and is fun for casual and competitive play
@@michaelpaulfx I’m not the biggest 90s Williams guy so it shocked me that it won, but it also makes total sense
Super looking forward to following your journey and learning from you. I started playing in spring of 2024, only two local IFPA tournaments so far, but won my second and looking forward to more growth. Wishing you the same!
Two excellent points on your video... making pinball more inclusive and bringing down the entry barrier on the skill level. I don't have an answer for these questions, but definitely agree this needs to be discussed.
@@GuilhermePaes it’ll come with time I think, but it’s difficult to imagine a space for newcomers when there’s not a huge influx of newcomers at any one given time
The trouble with opinions is everybody has one. As soon as I saw Rush up there and The Munsters last I knew we were going to be poles apart. As for the Beatles...Unless you like the music, there is no reason to play this machine. It's basically a Seawitch with glitter thrown at it.
He hasn't competed in years, but Neil Shatz is still one of the best control players on the planet. His IC profile isn't public, but if you know where to look, he's still out there putting up epic scores.
@@MikeH-e6x I was gonna make a joke that he must have invented the shatz, only to find out that he literally did 🤣
He'll be the first to tell you he didn't invent the alley pass, but he is absolutely the best at it. We'd go to a new location and he'd always test any older Bally games there for alley passing. Fantastic ambassador for the hobby and sport.
I wanna see a 24 hour stream of you doing 4.000 drop catches now to put Escher bankrupt
I am honoured to be in the same category as mr Elwin
@@avd1427 you’ve earned it!!! Love watching you play 👌
My Top Williams Bally 1. Medieval madness 2. Monsters bash 3. White water 🌊 4. The getaway 5. Star trek next generation 6. Cirques Voltaire 7. Theater magic ✨ 8. Indiana Jones 9. Arabian nights 10. Funhouse Honorable mention Bride of Pinbot
Often-times, the machine will determine the playstyle. Flipper hop is the bane of the flow player. For example, when playing Addams Family and shooting Ramp > Chair, if the inlanes are smooth and there's no Cliffy, and I can hit the chair on the fly 90% of the time, then it's better to stay on the fly rather than take the 90% chance of bringing the ball to rest successfully before even attempting a shot. But... if there's flipper hop, then the accuracy shooting on the fly might drop to 40% or worse. And then it's much better to use that 90% success rate at a ski-jump, inlane shimmy, post-trap, tip-pass, or live-post-pass, to bring the ball to rest and then another 90% to shoot the chair from a cradle. I used to always shoot Ramp > Chair on the fly like a flow player, but as the game gets older, flipper hop (or a Cliffy) becomes much more common, so now I almost always need to bring the ball to rest first, like a control player.
surprised to hear you like random video mode awards- but also choosing wisely in Indiana is not random- you just gotta pay attention. Chance is not your friend if you wanna slay.
@@dookski next time I get a chance to play one, slay I will!!! Thanks for the info!
Get used to remastered/vault editions, Stern is locked into that giant new factory. They have to keep the lines running with something that sells immediately. With the market slowing down, stern is going to rerun any game they think they can sell 500+ copies. Expect more Tron, Munsters, KISS, ACDC, even Ghostbusters. I just checked 3 distributor websites, and they all have full inventorys.. pros and Premiums of every game from the last 3 years. Cheers!
Hopefully this doesn't slow down or disengage them from their new releases, but I'm thinking with the new space they can do both decently well. Outside of code being unfinished as hell on release 😅
I'm looking forward to it. I remember Metallica always kicking my ass- now a fast fresh one will do that again.
I hear from chicago pinball expo players that some shots feel better than the original!
Just to say: the artwork is good and all, but Dirty Donny is my favorite pinball artist
I love the way that there’s a big black gap on the left of the screen and the machine is on the right and THAT is where you chose to put your video window lol.
Not really sure what you mean, machine is shown off on both sides and is usually sitting center. I do find there's not really a good place to have the camera sit the whole video lol
Bro 🤘 I love your videos man, I could listen to you talk about pinballs all day
That means a lot man 💫 thank you so much!
I think the author you were looking for is H.P. Lovecraft. I am also unfamiliar with the band beyond the pinball machine, but I think the “symbol” on the standup might be the number 72-also on the guitar pick inserts-where the top strokes run together. Dunno why 72.
Yep! occurred to me mid-edit 🙃
Original Metallica was not on spike 1. It was on the older SAM system. Otherwise nice video and this game looks great .
@@nickatmacomb8965 gotcha, thanks for the heads up!!! I’m newer to pinball so I’m a little lost on the details here and there 🫣
Yes it was Sam
Cannot wait for this. Grew up on Metallica and this is beautiful
One of stern's best looking games for sure!
It’s a gas to see original owners freakin out because they can’t list theirs for $15k anymore. 😮💨
some people swear they've never lost money on pin sales and i simply don't believe them 😂
I have an original and I'm glad they are coming out with this. More people and locations can have a Metallica now. I'm not selling mine anyways.
@@tyarnold4088 That’s a refreshing take! I agree-more pinball into the market! ✌️
@@Mo_Ketchups I'm not selling mine. Even for the crazy money they were going for.

W splatoon background music
BOPPIEST soundtrack to just shlap in the back of any video
Realistically the reason the pinball community is so awesome is because there is no money in it. Everyone chasing dollar signs and clout is off doing something else. This unintentionally acts as a filter that sifts out douchebags and keeps the chill people who are (for the most part) just out trying to have a good time... I grew up skateboarding in the 90s and I watched a slice of heaven get polluted and ruined by the introduction of money. Once the money came we saw the rise of the "skate-jock". Skateboarding quickly went from being a fun way of goofing off with your friends to a pissing contest between lowlife-wannabes. The immediate spark you would feel when you met another skateboarder went right out the window once everyone started doing it. After all, why get excited when you meet another person who does the exact same thing as every other person? The moral of the story is that money ruins everything and I believe there's a certain level of gratitude we should have that it hasn't ruined pinball... yet. Cheers
I completely understand that view! I guess my argument is that there's already innately a lot of money in pinball because it's a business venture for those who route machines, and incredibly expensive if you plan on owning for home. I don't feel like, even in it's peak, pinball would ever be something everyone would wanna do. It's far too niche. But I do think more people should be exposed to pinball - so many people that would love it don't even know it has a modern, thriving community. It's a big reason I started posting in the first place!!!
Did not expect to learn like 5 new things ab Tron. So cool Escher did this. You def deserved to win the tourney with your play, 4 game final was brutal. Love this series!
It's one thing to watch a pro play and another thing entirely to hear their thought process! And no way, you KILLED towards the end! Don't get it twisted, you're the beast of NYC right now 😵💫
100%, streaming and videos like this are so cool and help make more great players. Hearing players with encyclopedic game knowledge is so impressive, makes u want to get out and play those games. I’m one of many, NYC is so good rn.
Dante is the man. Told me a good strategy for stranger things, then used it to destroy me. Miss you at Boxcar!
This is great! Bro youre kinda nasty already. Cant wait to see you top rank
Gotta go from occasionally nasty to consistently nasty 😤
You got this bro you inspired me to get better
@@yanickpilon88 love to hear it!!! Good luck out there 🫡
I sometimes compare pinball competitions to playing in a bowling league. If you're playing in a pinball league or a local weekly tournament, it's mostly to have fun and hang out with your friends that share your hobby in friendly competition while you strive to improve your game and see your "average" gradually improve. And if you get really good, you can test your skills against the "pros" on the "pro tour". But pinball is soooo much more fun and interesting than bowling -- it's not the same shot over and over; the games and the challenges are constantly changing. Bowling is on the decline, but there's still a million people that play in bowling leagues. Maybe we can slowly convert them all to pinball?
The first ever pinball machine I have memory seeing was in a bowling alley! Worlds collide 🎉
@@OutlandishZathrus Like above, _bowling alleys_ were the first places **I** ever got to put my hands on a pinball machine. In many areas, they’re the ONLY places that still stock a few pins. I hope the pinball renaissance will get here faster w social media.
Pinball is better than chess! More noise, more lights, more multiballs! What was your rank in Rockt League?
Been holding onto champ 3 for years and have touched GC maybe twice since beta 😂
fx3 gives me the cheap pinball fix i didn't know i was craving. Williams playfields are legendary
I agree that FX is the best virtual option out there by a long shot!
Nice videos. But one thing- the entry price of pinball is the coin drop, not a new game for your home. The whole point of a big giant crazy machine is that people need to come to it, not own it. Pinball creates its own scene. It's fringe for a reason, and thriving for now- let money flow somewhere else. You don't need to be elite to be a star on a Tuesday night, winning it all on ball three in round four. (but yeah go get those wpprs!)
I’d like to think that, but most of the modern pin production model seems to be catering towards home play, as that’s where the manufacturers are making the majority of their money. I don’t think you need to own to be a player, because that would be crazy! I just think that owning a piece of a hobby elevates it, and in pinball it’s VERY difficult to do so versus other hobbies.
@@NightlitePinball owning a game is pretty cool but it really isn’t as cool as playing in the wild.
The physicality and skill ceiling is the draw for me. Not only does pinball allow you a wide variety of competitive options, it also allows you to make a lot of mistakes and recover from them. On the demographic focus, something I do like about pinball is that because of its legacy, you often get people of different generations in the same round. Similar to in chess, nothing scares me more than facing a child prodigy. Pinball makes travel a lot more fun, visiting machines and other pinheads is like a side quest for every trip. Lastly, I think that on-location playing is the answer to game ownership. I recently did the math on how much I've spent playing in bars, and realized I would have owned 3 machines by now 😮
I do love the collision of different generations and worldviews! There is a world where there’s space for everyone, and we’re sooooooo close I think!
Hell ya. Don't let the group think dictate what you like. I definitely don't line up with pinsides top 100 either.
