Seems like it needs a repair. If it's not repairable then sorry you need to buy a new one

This guy has videos of a lot of rare washers that need simple fixes I hope he saw some of the comments I left because I know how to fix them

People post videos about a particular problem they having, their answers are answered in the comments section, then upload another video of why why are still having problems and continue to ask for help, gee if you would at least reply your problem would have been solved the first time around. I swear, ‘tardation REALLY seems to be running rampant these days, especially past the Mississippi River on the east coast and south. Not saying people who live in those particular regions are like that, just an observation I’ve made over the years.

My guess is the timer was installed upside down since it cuts off halfway through the timed drying setting but continues to run and go through the auto dry cycles above it. Start relay is bad since it starts up as soon as it’s moved from the off position, a simple remedy for that is to leave the door open when loading it, select a cycle, close the door and will start as soon as the door is closed. That’s how some of the older Maytag dryers from the 1960’s were, they’d start when the timer was moved from the off position, would stop when the door was opened, would resume operation when the door was closed.
I think there’s a problem with the gear case
I like that belt drive washer is like a direct drive washer
