depending on your tension it’ll affect the size of the hat same for changing the yarn and hook size but you can tighten it up for row 9 and it should size down a bit and fit perfectly

this is an adult sized pattern and you could inc on the 7th row every 12 stitches but then it would be too big but that would be the only change you would do

yes, first two rows is 10 stitches and rows 3-6 you decrease in the beginning and end until you have 3 stitches left and then make 4 hdc on the top to make it round

I don’t think you’d need to inc extra because then it would be too big, but on the 7th row inc every 12 stitches

sometimes it happens when you make a double crochet on the same spot you did the chain 2, the chain 2 counts as double crochet

@@DayannasCreations wow you're fast haha thank you for your advice, the red heart yarn doesnt exist in my country so i tried to find another one online that's similar but turns out it was really different from yours but i found a solution, i decided to use a hook 2 sizes bigger than the 5.0mm and it gave me the size i wanted, not as big as yours but still pretty close i think

@endahp6192 i’m trying to figure this out as well since someone else commented this recently but our yarn is measured by weight and not ply so I don’t really know how to convert it if i’m being honest! I just know that if the yarn is smaller so will the hat

@@DayannasCreations yep i tried to look into red heart's website and amazon descriptipns and it only listed the yarn as worsted and the yarn i got was listed as worsted with the same size of hook recommended for it, tbh i only started crocheting recently so i thought it was the same thing so i suppose many people experienced similar struggles hahah but i ended up liking the yarn i bought since it's light, breathable, and very soft, a perfect choice for wearable products to me. I love your tutorial and really appreciate swift response!

@qulpinoa personally I personally prefer the acrylic version bc i’m in florida and it doesn’t get too cold but if you’re in a colder place than chunky is best

i’m a size medium / 32in waist and I used a jumbo skein form red heart yarn which equals to 2.5 skeins I believe if i’m not mistaken

@loupaumelle7637 if you’re using a different hook size / yarn weight it will affect how this would turn out. I used a 5mm / 4 weight yarn but yes increase until u reach that point and adjust to your personal fit

This pattern in the video is made for a size medium/ 32in waist. Personally I haven’t made this for a smaller or bigger size which is why I mentioned to make and attach 6 squares first and try it on and from that point on you’ll add more squares until it closes off your waist and then you can calculate it from there. you’ll repeat the same thing for the leg holes, make and attach 4 squares and add on until it fits you. For my size I ended up doing 24 squares total, 4 for the chest part, 4 for the leg holes (2) and then 12 for the body of the shorts. Hope this helps!

yes, it won’t end perfectly with 9 stitches in between especially if you increase first and then do 9 stitches or you do the 9 stitches first and then u increase, does this make sense? increasing every 10 stitches makes it bigger

Yes! it may have come out small because we may have different tensions as well, that’s why some people have theirs come out small. The slip stitch and chain 2 counts as a double crochet because when you put a double crochet in that same spot it makes the seam bulky and add and extra increase, the ski mask is not going to come out small for decreasing one single stitch :)
