This great old country gospel classic was written and recorded by the legendary Johnny Russell back in 1973. But the first version I heard was the Statler Brothers’. My version has a lot more grass and a lot less funky tremelo than Johnny’s original!

This beautiful old hymn was written by Adelaide Pollard in 1902. While attending a prayer meeting, she was inspired after hearing an older woman pray, "It really doesn't matter what you do with us, Lord-just have your way with our lives." She went home and meditated on the potter's story in Jeremiah 18, and wrote the words to this hymn. George Stebbins wrote the music in 1907.
