Hate to say it, but years ago, people worked harder for a lot less money! No central heating environments, no bus shelters out the door so they could go and have a smoke or break whenever they, no mobile phones to call home whenever they liked, and any lip to the Boss (not even sure they have Bosses any more...) you got FIRED without a warning or Reference. I could go on... You don’t know you’re born today - and you still want more money for doing less! LOL Seriously, I agree with you. This was 1980.Sheena Easton was featured on a Show called 'The Big Time' when she was an unknown in Britain. (she was originally from Scotland) She could do no wrong in Britain with a string of hits. (at one time she had two hit Records in the Top 10 here at the same time!) I bought all her Records. However, she made a couple of mistakes very early on in her career. (in my opinion) She deserted Britain for America - I mean 'deserted'. She always claimed that we stopped buying her Records and that was why she went - but it was really the other way round I think. Many Pop Stars go to the States, but they still do stuff in their own country too - she didn’t, it’s as if she was no longer interested in the country and the Show that had made her into Star anymore, and I don’t think that went down very well here... But that wasn’t the only issue; she changed her style totally from the pure pop and innocence you’ve obviously seen and enjoyed here, and became more 'sexual' with the material she sang and the way she performed, and I felt we lost her forever - and we did, because she never had another big hit here after leaving Britain - she could have at least roamed between the two countries - but hey; she made her choice and that’s entirely her right and up to her. I just never liked it whenever she she said that we stopped buying her Records and that’s why she left... But I missed her Songs, her style, and her earlier material, which was a big part of the early eighties for me. It was a good time.

I've seen him live about 30 times, haha!! 😹 He is amazing. This song, Sign O The Times was really popular at the time and had such an impact culturally. Arguably, though, the album version is the best version. It's so minimal and perfect, you could hear a pin drop. He is never able to capture that live, which I always found a bit disappointing...
