Keep pole and top kit low. A wizard you are .not

Ive landed loads of 15 -20lb carp on the pole and my advise is youve got to use an elastic that puts you in control straight away because if you let them get momentum you will struggle to stop them. Black hydro set fairly tight ie pings back into pole this setup takes some beating 6ft top kit ive found to be tge perfect lengh with back puller. I tend to only use back puller for big carp so the top kit is as strong as it could possibly be. Stop them from making initail run and they are yours

Just an idea. I'd perosnally move away from the new type of Hybrid elastics and back to a thick solid like PI "Slip Elastic" or a thick hollow like Red Hydro/Middy 18-20. At times its like a dog on a lead with the new Hybrid elastics - they have too much strech as we can see in your film and then you end up putting long lenths of pole out along with 20m of elastic to control the fish ! In these swims you need to think "Old school" !!! Also the length of elstic is key - too much and they are off running as you have no control.

Whatever you do never buy a maver reality pole. You've only got to look at the topkit and it crumples and splits

Hi Mark Just found your vlog, very amusing, lots of craic between you all which is nice to see, i used to live in Llanelli back in the 70's but left wales on joining the army 1st Bn RRW, moved to northern ireland in the 80's been here ever since, slightly different fishing here to wales, but the reservoir is wild water like here, i've subscribed and will follow the antics of the club.
