How to Draw a Double-End Hook Spanner in 2D with LibreCAD | Step-by-Step Tutorial
The design of the Double-End Hook Spanner in the image is both functional and efficient. Here are a few thoughts:
Dual-End Versatility: The spanner has two distinct hook ends with different radii, allowing it to be used for a variety of components, potentially with different sizes. This increases its versatility.
Hexagonal Cutout: The hexagonal hole in the center indicates that the tool is designed for use with hex bolts or nuts, adding a secondary function to the tool. This multi-functionality is practical for maintenance or repair tasks.
Compact and Ergonomic: The overall shape is compact and likely easy to handle, with smooth curves for comfortable grip and operation. The arcs are gentle and rounded, which suggests good ergonomics and ease of use.
Precision in Curves: The measured angles and radii are well-defined, especially with details like the 135° arc and R26 curve. This suggests careful attention to geometry for proper fitting and functionality.
Overall, the design seems well thought out for its intended purpose, combining functionality with simplicity. It looks like it would be both practical in application and easy to manufacture.

    Thank you for this drawing, I learned a lot again. I think though, the r42 fillet you drew for the curved slot is incorrect. It is the angle between top and bottom of the slot that is shown as 42°, not r42. I believe the fillet should be r62 (70-8) or parallel with the outer side of the slot.

      Thanks a lot for your comment! I’m really happy to hear you learned a lot from the video. You’re totally right, I made a mistake with the r42 fillet on the curved slot. It should’ve been a 42° angle, not r42. The correct fillet should be r62 or parallel to the outer edge of the slot. I try to be super careful, but I missed that one. Sorry about the error! The best way to fix it is definitely by using the parallel tool, like you mentioned. Thanks again for pointing it out!

    How to scale the image with exact measures?

    • @librecadfree
      @librecadfree 2 місяці тому

      "To scale an image with exact measurements in LibreCAD, here's what you can do: Import Your Image: Start by bringing your image into LibreCAD. Measure Something You Know: Use the measuring tool to find the length of something in the image that you already know the size of. Figure Out the Scale Factor: Take the size you want that length to be and divide it by the measured length to get your scale factor. Scale the Image: Go to 'Modify' > 'Scale', pick your image, and enter the scale factor. Make sure you choose a reference point, like a corner or the center. Double-Check the Size: Measure that same length again to make sure it’s the size you want. That should do the trick! Let me know if you have any other questions."

    Cmon, how can you compare ACAD with LibreCad ? The first is a complete professional suite (expensive off course), productivity oriented ; LibreCad is just a toy (we all love free software , but...) . Is possibile to realize the same 2d drawing with ACAD or LibreCad , but with the second you will need double time ! You should compare LIbreCad with Draftsight, BrycsCad , NanoCad etc etc ....

    • @librecadfree
      @librecadfree 2 місяці тому

      You bring up some valid points about the differences between AutoCAD and LibreCAD. AutoCAD is indeed a comprehensive professional suite with extensive features designed for high productivity, while LibreCAD is a more lightweight, free alternative. However, for many users, especially those working on simpler 2D drawings or those just starting out, LibreCAD can be a practical and cost-effective option. It's also great for educational purposes and for those who prefer open-source software. You're right that comparisons might be more fair with other lightweight CAD tools like DraftSight, BricsCAD, or NanoCAD. Each tool has its own strengths and is suited to different needs and budgets. Ultimately, the best tool depends on the specific requirements of the project and the user's familiarity with the software. Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll consider it for future comparisons!

    Why have a distance of 11.4 ? The person adding dimensions is too lazy to add 12 + 11.4 = 23.4 being the radius of the outer ring. Then the distance for the vertical lines is already given at the tangent points of the 24 dia & 46.8 dia circles.

    • @librecadfree

      Yep, that's right, you could indeed be very diligent in creating a new circle with a radius of 12 + 11.4 = 23.4, but I choose the faster and lazier route by using the tools already provided... You're very meticulous, you're very good.
