Can you send a link to the binding foot that you have?

I also use fusable thread for my binding. However I sew my binding to the front of the quilt then after it is fused down I stitch in the ditch on the front. The stitching only shows on the back.

Can you show use the clear foot in use? I hate the ones with guides, they shift when you're sewing across a single piece of square of fabric for flying geese or half square triangle to cut the pieces of the square in half.

Very nice method. I'd love to see a follow-up video showing how to handle the mitered corners using this technique. Thanks!

Excellent tutorial! I had watched it several months ago, bought this foot for my Babylock Katherine, but unfortunately forgot some of these tips as I was making a Byannie bag. Saving the video today!

What is that tool you are using to help the material go through the machine?

It is a stiletto/pressing tool from the company Byannie.

How cool that you sleeved the webbing. I love webbing (and I have a stash of it as I made dog collars/leads for my volunteer dog transport). Peek and tuck...you said it perfectly. I consider a stiletto to be a must have safety and accuracy tool.

I have found the quality of some of the "guides" on 1/4" feet to be lacking (e.g. too flimsy and bendy). It appears that the guide on the foot that you are demonstrating it is pretty stable. I have a Bernina gated foot which is my favorite. My Bernina is not so smart (e.g. no auto overrides) that when I put the straight stitch plate on that I cannot choose "stupid stitches". But, the hole accommodates 1 click over so when needed, I get a perfect scant when needed. My juki has a foot with the "hump jumper" button...I had to look up what it is for. I found that I can simply press the button while sewing (if needed) without raising the presser foot. It is both a clever and handy option!

Hi. Appreciate your detailed information on this lovely machine. I'm wondering if any of the baby lock machines offer a 9mm stitch length like several of the janome machines do.

Very nice video! I love my Baby Lock Soprano another great feature is it can sew sideways which works great for my daughters Girl Scout patches. I’m a late bloomer with sewing and quilting but this machine has made it seem like I’ve been sewing for years.

I’ve had my Soprano for a little over a year now & I absolutely LOVE it! It truly is very user friendly with awesome features. The manual is very well organized & I can easily find instructions what I am looking for. I am 54 years old & I didn’t sew or own a machine until now. I bought it for quilting. I had to laugh though when you said that many of us say we aren’t interested in the decorative stitches as I said the same thing. I’ve just this past week started playing around with them on my quilt borders & I am having so much fun. The Twin needle is great too. I am going to integrate more decorative stitches into my next quilt & blocks. Your demo was very well done. Thanks.

My $179 Brother 6000i has the same bobbin loading system with no need to bring up thread, the same one step buttonhole foot, a smaller included quilting table, etc. Unfortunately, it's not great for any kind of even slightly heavy sewing in general, which is why I'm checking out this machine.

Great question. Needles should be replaced every 8 hours of sewing, or when starting a new project.
