Clarksville, tn. Hello.I am very new to needlepoint. Are the canvases made in plastic or in cloth material. I am a cross stitcher, crochet, knit, etc.. is there a blank canvas to work, like using charts in cross stitching. How do I acquire the canvas and charts. What type and sizes are there. I watched your video and you gave so much info that me being a newbe I found it confusing. HELP!!! Thank you.
Always good information. I'll use this technique on my Garden Tote canvas. I plan on having the tote sitting on grass with sky surround. Thanks for the video.

Do you usually have the side borders (1/2” on sample shown) less than the top & bottom (1” on sample shown)?
Great question, Lisa! It depends upon the piece (and my plans for the finished use) as to how wide I make the side borders. I'm always extra careful to make sure that the bottom of the design element is closer to the bottom edge of the stitched piece (i.e., background) so that it doesn't look like it's floating in mid air. I hope that makes sense.
