Star Fox 64 3D enhanced Venom 1
3DS emulation is kind of in shambles right now, and I haven't really been working on this, but I felt like I should show what the music sounds like right now. There's some issues with the layout that need to be fixed and there's some standard disclaimers about this being a work in progress, and emulator issues yadda yadda. Music doesn't loop properly in places, skybox doesn't look right and needs to be fixed etc etc.

A while back I resolved myself to re-painting the arwing's textures entirely from scratch. This was both a very good, and a very bad idea. The end result (In my opinion) looks *MUCH* better than my original attempt at hodge-podging the Star Fox Zero's arwing textures onto the 64 3D one. Recently redid all of the character portraits and added in the ones from star fox zero. Decided to overlay sf zero's music as well for a more modern feel. The hud was redone from scratch using my partner's original one as a base. I will release these new edits on the n64 modding forums at a later time. Hey just wanted to say that this mod is really promising! I love all the new features especially the better music/textures. Even though Citra is officially not being worked on anymore, a few people have created their own forks of it and continued its work. I think its worth finishing this mod seeing how far you have gone with it. I know I would personally use the mod myself and have a blast with it. Good luck!

It's a shame the amount of progress that has been halted on the 3DS emu side. RIP Citra.

Not necessarily, there are forks of the emulator that aim to continue development on 3ds emulation And who knows? Maybe Star Fox will get its own custom build for it.
Those skyboxes are nice, only thing I would fix is the fact the voices are panned to the left with earphones on and music, but still, marvelous!
Fixing the panned voices is something that would take weeks tbh. I would have to re-convert each voice clip line-by-line and test each of them to make sure they work. I really only recorded this because someone felt the need to commend 'lol ur bad' on a 7 year old video of mine lmao. I do hope that I can fix these issues, but I'm thinking by the time 3DS emulation makes a come back and fixes its problems... I'm pretty sure the SF 64 decomp project, and the inevitable PC port will be finished. Meaning that modding *that* version will be much simpler.

I wonder how this would run on a New 3DS with the clockspeed and cache raised.
At the current size, the textures would cause the system to run out of memory. The audio mod works, but hitches when new diologue calls come in. That may be the result of the on-the-fly patching though.
@@MaddiAddiGaming the audio mod also is panned to the left. I would try to knock it down to mono but unfortunately I don't know what file format it's using.
@@daemonspudguy That was a problem with Sebastian's original conversion. And the reason neither he nor I have not attempted to fix it is because there are hundreds of individual files and it's incredibly tedious to convert them all and rename them appropriately.
@@MaddiAddiGaming I wonder how that happened. I don't think the original files had that issue, but I could be wrong.
@@daemonspudguy I imagine it had something to do with the specific conversion tool he used. There's a few different ones out there that can do the job. IIRC he used looping audio converter (or LAC as it's known in the community) The one I used was BRSTM to BCSTM converter. Sadly the latter while it is more up to date and has better features, it doesn't convert non-looping audio properly (which is odd, considering the name of the other tool.) At this point with Citra being dead, and the progress on the original SF 64 Decoompilation sitting at 99%, I don't really see much need to try and fix it, since we'll have better options for experiencing the game soon.
Can this run on an actual n64 tho? Also Fox should be charged with rape after what he did to all those bosses.

That was a total bullet hell. Like what it was to be expected in Venom. Sadly that's the easy route. If this was the easy I don't want to imagine what is of Area 6 and the face off against Star Wolf.

Nothing I can do about that. That's an issue with the game itself. I have no way to edit the density of the fog, sadly.
@@MaddiAddiGaming Well, you could pull the fog closer to the camera so its in front of the pop in instead of behind it
@@BlazingKhioneus I literally cannot edit the fog. All I can change is the music and the game's textures. I can't change the placement of the fog, I can't edit models. And I can't edit code. Because the fog is part of the game code, I cannot change it.

How on earth did you get the original voice files uncompressed?? It sounds amazing!
Uncompressed recordings were found in one of the famous nintendo giga leaks. The original mod itself was done by sebastian called the star fox 64 3d audio restoration mod. That version includes these voice clips as well as versions of the music using uncompressed instrument samples from the same giga leak
that is f***ng beautiful How can I have this experience too? All I have is project64 and the original ROM is there any link to download this emulator and file to just play it too, or there is a lot of adjustments, downloads and plenty of other technical things that only 'designers' can go thru with ease?
Work on the project has stalled due to issues with the citra 3DS emulator. For legal reasons I can't post any direct links to a rom for Star Fox 64 3D or the emulator but one could easily find them with a google search. Enhancements to the textures and music will continue to be unavailable until a lot of issues are fixed.

Godspeed, this is amazingly done. Love the music too. They screwed up so much with the 3DS version. Though what i hated most is that they made the boss explosions weaker, i loved the giant fireballs when a boss did go down. I wish that could be restored.
Unfortunately as this is just edits to textures and sound, I am unable to restore the 'big fat pumpkin' as me and my sister called it when we were very young XD

The voices are only coming from the left speaker. Is this how the game was developed? Except that, congratulations for your great work!
This was an issue that carries over from the original uncompressed audio mod. For some reason when Sebastian was porting over the voices the conversion software tuned a lot of files to the left and lowered the volume on others. Unfortunately with there being hundreds of voice files in the game it's more than a little tedious to go back and re-convert every single one of them,
