You can't just force them to jump it and get annoyed them they don't jump it immediately, especially if you don't even know how to ride.

OMG these people are idiots. They do not know how to ride. If your horse is faced with a new jump or obstacle and is nervous or hesitant, this is normal and understandable at first. You need to allow them to investigate it and encourage them to jump it at their own pace, this will leave them with a positive experience, not just smack them and kick them and become annoyed when they don't jump it immediately. Wtf

I was upset when I saw the person on the grey horse whipping hers to bits and pieces, but when you start whipping somebody else horse, there's something seriously wrong with you! Within 2.5 minutes she had whipped her own horse 26 times. She whipped other people's horses twice, and had someone whip her horse from the ground twice. That grey was whipped a total of 32 times (on screen) within 3.5 minutes, That's an average of one strike every 6 seconds!!

I didn't see one person give their horse a well done pat on the neck after the horses jumped.

The 'large' woman riding the grey is so cruel and dangerous. She is hitting her own horse and other peoples horses!! How did she know how they were going to react to being smacked which a whip?? So impatient she had to whip everyone else's horse. Disgraceful!!

I would never do anything like this if I was hunting. Simply a TINY tap with the whip (not like that woman on the grey RAISING THE CROP INTO THE AIR AND SMACKING IT BACK DOWN ON HER HORSE'S NECK.) Give a few encouraging clucks and SQUEEZE ON. A lot of the riders were very good to their horses. (EX: The girl on the black Fresian, I think.)

I hate the way the girl on the grey is just hitting it. She can obviously see that he/she is scared there must have been another rout around. If there wasn't what I do is u just talk to my horse to reassure them. I would never take my aggression out on a horse because at least they are not killing you, we all know they could easily kill us. It's not their fault they get scared and worried you just need to keep clam yourself and reassure your horse or pony.

Something like this shouldn't be allowed! Horses that do not know each other (and they probably do not know each other) should not be so near together. You saw, some kicked... Then These riders are hurting, really hurting the poor horses! Horses are very sensitive in the mouth and the riders shouldn't pull on the reins so hard! And especially the one on the big, Grey horse slapped her horse really hard. I couldn't say anything to it, it's really so not okay!! And if the horses are scared, the riders need to take their time and do it carefulyy and with love, but SHOULD NOT pull on the reins, slap the horeses or push them so hard that they will probably get wounds!!! And now something to your last comment: Why would you take comments off?! People commenting here are just giving critique like i'm doing it. So, no reason to take comments off! I mean it's not you fault the riders are doing this but, maybe you shouldn't applaud them for hurting their horses...

The spurring community is alwas pretending in comments that spurs are never used for kicking. Here are numerous proofs that it is not true. All riders are too unexperienced to try to cross the ditch a little bit diagonally to make it less steep. What have lousy riders to do on a cross country event risking their own bones and those of their horses? The clip is a disgusting show of beating at the end, when the whipping or beating "angel" is locking the horses between ditch or stream and his whip. That is exactly what scared horses don't like at all. And it is dangerous for all of them, because the horses could try to escape from danger by bolting, bucking, and kicking. Scared horses should never be trained together. It is always better to combine calm and experienced ones with less experienced and more nervous ones. This is an example how not to do it. Not one rider had the courage to dismount his horse to teach it by a little bit of groundwork to gain more selfconfidence by giving a better example as the more intelligent human being. What is the obstacle in our brain to give a horse less time for learning how to cross a ditch, a river, a road than to enter a trailer? Fear is the biggest obstacle of every horse. Horses must always be seduced to trust their riders more than the voice in their head. I hope for all of them that they have learned a little bit for the coming events. Happy riding!

Horses kept in boxes with cross country riders in the saddle, who are afraid of dirty shoes. What is preventing them from leaving the saddle and guiding the horse by walking in front like a leader? I bet that all horses would have managed that easy obstacle in both directions. Encouraging horses is a better way than to make them scared by a whip. Clueless people without courage to be laughed at.

That is no way to treat a horse, it's disgusting and cruel. If the horse doesn't want to go over the ditch you should make it they could get seriously hurt! Is is cruel and horrible! I'm not the best horse person. I don't know everything about horses (I'll try to tho) but I will say this with every fiber being in my body that this is pure animal cruelty and just disgusts me. You make horse riders look like we are assholes. Just sad. Poor horses.

Why feel the need to whip your horse all up the neck and rump. It is uncalled for! It wasn't even the woman/mans turn to jump the ditch. And especially not immediately patting and praising your horse like everyone else did, it's disgusting behaviour and makes me as an equestrian who has ridden in hunts, jumped ditches much larger than this one and has been riding nearly my whole entire lifetime feel ashamed. A whip/crop is there to guide the horse not to aimlessly whack it! Sorry but this is me expressing my opinion as an equestrian :-)
