See that’s the thing about revisionist history is that now everyone is saying how much they loved Inquisition! I remember the initial reception being negative but then I look at rating and awards the game got. Honestly, Dragon Age Origins to me was peak and I would love an honest attempt at them making a game like that again. BG3 proved it can work and be successful.

@@tromar5758 Yeah, I think at the time my circle of friends didn't like it and then I looked back on it and I was like "wooh! people loved this!" Cause I wasn't as tuned in at the time.

I love Dragon Age Origins and it is not that. If you come in expecting that you’ll be disappointed. However, if your down for a more action oriented game with some rpg elements sprinkled in, you can have fun.

@@jayrickards1141 having only 2 companions journey with you means you have to pick wisely who you bring to what quests. with 3 you could hear more of your companions opinions on the location, quest, npcs etc. so pick wisely who u bring to where and what quests if u want to hear their opinion! i wouldnt call it stupid... but it does make it more difficult to hear what your companions have to say. i think im half way through (not sure) but from what ive seen the world building is completely absent. it doesnt really go in about mages, templars, the circle, the chantry, andraste... no real difference between elves and humans in terms of social status. u dont meet dalish clans. it feels like they concocted this story then slapped dragon age paint on it. mainly elven history but dwarves do get their history expanded upon which i did find interesting! most companions has their litle sidekick pokemon. wisps, griffon, skeleton, demon, voice. most also have a clear villain in their sidquest chain and they dont really overlap/intertwine with the main story. so far the factions have no depth. a couple companions feel unnecessary (i would have preferred less companions and factions if it meant the ones we get are more fleshed out...). i picked an elf veil jumper and i dont feel like it would play any different than playing a qunari crow lol. maybe im wrong though. now is it dark? umm id say so far theres been a few moments where a scene reminded me of origins in terms of grit. some of the cutscenes are cringe and yes the game is woke. combat is fast paced. youll spend a lot of time looking at ground and corners hugging walls for loot instead of experiencing the scenery if youre a loot goblin. almost all armor skins are ugly. skill tree is annoying youll have to get skills you dont want sometimes so its a wasted point. most merchants arent marked on the map only faction vendors are. im planning to do one more playthrough once i complete this one.

First playthrough I chose Druid for “speak to animals” and 🦉 🐻 tank. Second playthrough I am doing a rogue for general fun antihero roleplay. (And poison daggers, sneak, and Lockpicking.) lol

Lowkey probably the craziest one to throw yourself into the gane tbh. Bet it made for a great playthrough (personally wasn't a fan of wild magic)
