Very different. It's obviously not as powerful as Spear, but it's probably at least as strong as CL, and visually very satisfying. LOL

I had an idea for chain lightning, I was trying to get a staff of lam Essen with ga’s on int and resource cost reduction which would apply to static surge paragon node and I already have a ga on axial conduit. I also have the paragon to increase enchantment effects by 20%. My goal was to use the chain lightning enchantment to auto cast chain lightning after I had manually cast it enough to get it rolling. after farming for it for hours I finally just used my sparks to get andariels and put the aspect on my amulet for mana regeneration. I was wanting to use banished lords. I have absolutely zero resource issues but I can’t reach more than 6 chain lightnings before they all explode. I even tried it without the staff of lam Essen and ring of starless skies. I don’t know if it could work if I had 100% chance to double cast or changing my attack speed might work, but I was trying to make a chain lightning that would keep building by itself and maintain itself, and the mana consumption would just keep everything overpowering, which does work, I tried that part of it. But if you can help I’d appreciate it. I’d like to get my chain lightning to double cast 100% of the time. The only other thing I can think of is to use the crown to increase my mana consumption and rely on the staff with the paragon with max mana and mana regen.

@@jarrodgentry9966 Problem with that is that it reduces the "casting" cost but doesn't reduce the "drain"

Shako is nice, but andariels/starlight is the way to go with chain lightning. Mana is a real *** insert bad word here ***

OMG. I don't know why I said that. We don't need to worry about mana AT ALL. So, no, starlight is not needed here. I'd probably go with conceited as we have that 100% barrier up time for the additional 25% damage, or alternatively you could use the aspect of shredding blades for 30% against vulnerable. With the static surge node mobs will almost always be vulnerable as well.

Chain lightning isn't a great leveling build. I'd save this for late game and use something else if possible. if you can find a few items with life on hit, you could "try" the starlight aspect and see if that helps.

I've only done a 118 so far. Haven't tried anything higher, but that was pretty easy.

Yes, lightning spear is a stronger build.

T7s are what people farm the most. I'm just showing a fun build that hasn't worked in the past but seems decent finally.

t7 is best resources for time spent on bosses unless your able to kill the bosses in like 30 seconds lol

For chain lightning you need the lightning rod aspect on a 2 hander and stormswell on neck. 13 ranks in glass cannon for 78%x don't hurt either.

@@Jaeru13 I have 9 in glass cannon now but is hard to kill enemies I am lvl 97 but don’t feels like I have a strong build

With the damage he’s already doing, it’ll have no problem in T8. I can easily do T8 too but choose T7 because it’s quicker to run. I suppose for displaying purposes, watching him do T8 would have been better.

I went with crit strike damage instead. The paragon glyph gives 20% chance to crit and you can get your normal chance up to 75% easy so you crit almost ALL the time and do more dmg. Fists of fate at almost 300% dmg are really good as well.

@@Jaeru13 That copes quite well with how I understood the damage calculation works in diablo iv. So I also tried to replace some of my ice spike damage tempers with crit tempers. It should work better doubling, say, +1.000 % spike damage by multiplying with 200% crit damage resulting in 2000% than just adding an additional 200% spike damage to make 1200%. Alas, the training dummies said: forget it. The end damage was the same as before.

Oh I've got so many ideas for S5...just waiting for the uniques to drop. I think the changes for S5 are going to be game changing.

@@rebelsoulja77 I agree, but I've always been a blizzard man, and it looks SO strong next season. Lightning spear DOES look interesting though. I think that has huge potential, not only for damage, but looks so much fun.

@Jaeru13 Oh dont get me wrong m8 Blizzard's Nice i don't have anything against it , it's just that it gets boring for playing a single skill over and over and over ... u know ? its like all other skills there didn't even exist :D except for defensives , and yea LS looks great from what I've been seein , i wish we could spam it like crazy ! throwing spears like a core skill .

Agreed. They kept all the infinite scaling for other classes, but decided the sorcerer was too powerful so nerfed us in about every way possible.

LOLZ. I try not to break builds on purpose, just make them fun and interesting. To me, this one is just at the point of being powerful without being ridiculous
