I don't think this fight was compulsory for gear progress so i fought other bosses and come back to it.

@@hanzkafka As far as I can see, it is. I'm locked at 56(57with Brute blood) until I can get thick leather from Frostmaw. Ah well.

@@hanzkafka Nope. I've got every boss up to the level 56s killed, and all my gear upgraded as far as possible. Can't craft better armor until I have thick leather available.

@@hanzkafka Amulet yes from the Wine boss in Dunley but that gets you to 71, but whatever it is got him on a blood moon level 71 after 4 tries on brutal boosted (stats 1.75 for me and for bosses - yeah he melted me the first few tries). Thanks anyway. (Dawnthorn Set full and Blood Merlot Amulet)

@@hanzkafka I think you have a silver whip weapon in slot 8 cuz of the icon that might be the gear booster.

Wouldn't research unlock whatever gears come after Dawnthorn set? Usually one shouldn't be more than 3 levels below the boss after doing everything possible.

@@hanzkafka Could be an oversight but I don't see anything else my study was maxed out and the dawnthorn is the base set for the variants unlocked by the Athenaeum.

@@justins4705 The moveset is the same, but the levels and scaling is different. Brutal bosses are 3 levels higher than Normal bosses along with 25% more hp, 75% more damage.

She spawns more if you get hit by the inky projectile. There's also a phase where she spawns a bunch right off the bat.

@hanzkafka that's just it. I reach that phase haven taken zero damage. And she spawns like 7 or 8 at a time. Possibly the server has a more severe setting?

@@MrChasemz yeah I wonder, i get hit by the ink once before the 1:22 adds spawn phase, and once more by the AoE pool, and get 3 more on top of the 1 that got spawned from the initial hit. I didn't get hit prior to or during the 1:43 spawn phase and only 1 came out. So to me, it seems that it correlates with getting hit. I assume you're solo-ing as well, but obviously if there are more players in the fight or in the vicinity she might spawn more. I think the settings are quite restrictive in 1.0, one can change player's health and damage but not necessarily bosses' spec. But maybe on a paid dedicated server there are more settings.

or you could learn his pattern. he only casts frost missiles if you're out of melee range. his first swing steps forward, his other swing stands in place. so... Q into him with greatsword. E over his first melee swing. dodge away and slash. then dead zone kite him. step into melee, bait the swing, step back, chop him twice. step into melee, bait swing. his charge, counter the first hit. E over the second. dodge third with Q. he normally follows up with AoE. get back into melee before he freezes you with icelance, rinse repeat.

@@shoulderpyro it's fun to see the different approach everyone brings to this game. But some boss is so aggressive that the skill requirement for having more offensive spell is higher than double defensive spells.

if you kill the general in the mine, you unlock the scythe.

I just like recording myself killing bosses, and i forgot to record this one so I came back for a re-kill.

it's legendary weaps, there's a chance it drops from vendor.

I got the legendary crossbow from the Greater Sytgian Rifts as a drop from a primal blood soul. They do exist, but are rare.

Better question is: why is his frost barrier on a 3 second cooldown? Something aint right here. I don't know of anything in the game that gives a 60% CD reduction like that and isn't in the illusion magic tree.

@@TheXboxSux So frost barrier does have a Jewel effect that reduces the cooldown when the barrier gets hit. Looked it up, range is 0.5-0.8s per hit up to 3 hits. He's running 100% scholar blood, which is 10-20% CD on spells, +25% for maxed blood, so thats 25% CD. and the legendary slashers has another 10% CD on top of that. So Frost barrier starts at 11s CD. 10% CD is 1.1s then, so 35% CD(assuming additive) is 3.85s, and then assume an average jewel roll, would reduce the CD by another 1.95s, so thats a total of 5.8s CD off of the 11s right there. without including whatever the gear its doing. EDIT: Armor looks like full Malecifer, which is another 8% CD from the set bonus. if the jewel is a max CD roll its 2.75(25% Blood) + 1.1(10% CD Legendary Slashers) + 2.4(0.8x3 Frost jewel 3 hits) + 0.88(8% CD Gear set bonus) is 7.13s off of 11s CD, which is 3.87s left. Assuming the game truncates the timer, that explains why it shows 3 when the barrier finishes

I generally dodge verything then end up in the laser beams/ walk into them like an idiot and you are the exact opposite xd

Try using 2 counters + crossbow on Doctor. I used (don't remember names sorry) skelly shield and blood counter. Crossbow Q doesn't trigger his counterattack so you can just shield-counter-dash orbs and use Q for small but steady damage. Also after skelly shield he often attacks skeleton instead of you, so you have even more evades if necessary

yeah i whiffed the ult here on the adds phase which was subpar.

you can choose which spell you wanna unlock now in 1.0. About the burning dmg, that's the standard amount.

@@hanzkafka ah I see custom server with unlocked spell that explains it ok, and no thats not the standard dmg for burning on Brutal just tested it the tick rate is much faster. Ty anyway.

@@azkaria9881 wait, you can't pick from 2-3 spells of a certain element? And I don't think any settings can change the tick rate. How many ticks do they go for anyway?

@@hanzkafka A quarter over what dmg your char took so close to half hp bar lets say 47%, BUT I saw that I had boosted stats on enemy and boss dmg soo I did it to myself :D, still the bow and kite was a good touch killed him on the 5th try but yeah I did not unlock spells from other regions just made enemies stronger.

@@azkaria9881 i see yeah, that would make Brutal even harder. Being able to pick the spells from other region is Brutal's default setting now, not sure how you can opt out of it.

Yeah they're pretty good for fights where the bosses aren't in your face all the time.

Yeah they got quite a lot of things going on at the same time.

Yeah i'm sure there are more fun ways to fight him but the slow was such a pain.
