It's Kat and Marek here, we are a couple and we seek freedom! A few years ago we decided to ditch our soul drenching, boring 'normal' life, leave our comfort zone and go adventuring and exploring! We started with selling our possessions and moving in a 30 year old motorhome! After two amazing trips around Europe, we returned to the UK where we continue to live on wheels. Our goal is to travel full time! For now we both have seasonal campsite jobs and enjoy 4 months of free travel in winter! Wherever we go, our dog Diesel comes with us.

#99 Campsite Job: Setting Up Lotus Belle Tent!
We are starting our second season as wardens in March and recently we bought a caravan to stay in, we had a holiday in it over Christmas in Scotland 🏴 which was very nice not sure about towing need more experience. I think we may have gypsy blood as we have also put our house up for sale we decided not to rent it out and have a look around at properties for sale over the next 12 months that’s if we sell it, 😊
Interesting, I have lived in my camper for 5 years, I am mostly parked at work, and have a post address there too. On the weekends I travel, and when I have long holidays, I go to music festivals. I have two months of vacation in a row a year, then I go to the apartment I have in Brazil, I am in Fortaleza now, December and January. The car I have is a winter-insulated Burstner 680G, 5 years old, has both a dishwasher and a regular washing machine on board. I have previously owned a house, now I am so happy with the simple life in the camper, it will be difficult to leave this life. I think I will continue until I retire in 10 years. I think it is much easier to travel by camper in Norway, we can almost stop wherever we want, we are not worried about crime, which we have little of here, so little that we do not think about it. I have a Brazilian wife, she comes to Norway when she is on vacation, she loves to travel in the winter in Norway. The only thing that can be is finding water in the winter, that's why I have installed a 200 liter tank. Electricity is not a problem, I have installed 500 amp lithium and a 3kw inverter, and 465w solar panel. What is missing for me is more travel time. Roy, currently in Fortaleza with 28 degrees and light breeze.
Wow, Roy, what an inspiring lifestyle you’ve created! It’s amazing how you’ve tailored your camper for comfort and convenience-dishwasher and washing machine on board, that’s impressive! 😊 Norway sounds like a dream for camper living, with so much freedom and safety. Your setup with the lithium batteries, inverter, and solar is incredible-truly self-sufficient. And two months in Brazil every year? That’s the perfect balance! Thanks for sharing your story; it’s a great reminder of how fulfilling the simple life on the road can be. Wishing you many more years of happy travels! 🌍🚐
Parazone bleach is septic tank friendly
Thanks for the tip! 👍 It’s good to know that Parozone bleach is septic tank friendly. Always great to have more options for keeping things clean and safe. 😊
Small sites with a well known club Still manage to be reasonable with their fees so I'm not too sure there is not some greed going on. The site we stay on has lovely views toilet electric just no shower. 16 pound a night last time we stayed last year
£16 a night sounds like great value, especially with those views and facilities! 😊 Some smaller sites do seem to strike a better balance with their pricing. Thanks for sharing!
Hi there. Im a graphic designer. What skills are relevant please?!
Hi, you must be creative that's handy as it will help with problem solving, be good with customers, if you do freelance? Have strong communication skills, as you need to respond to your clients' needs, perhaps help them understand what they need. Able to work without supervision? Able to plan and priotitize workload? Have strong IT skills - useful when processing bookings. What do you think? Kat
I discovered you today, you are really cool. Very nice editing, you speak fluently and syntactically Kasiu, good to listen to you. I don't know why, and actually I know a bit.... you have very few subs and views. I don't really care, but after what you see in others, how you have your teeth done and more, or nature has given, a nice face and what you, know how and idea. Don't worry about it, don't do what you love for the likes, be yourself and in the end, maybe people will believe in you. 👍☺
Welcome aboard! Many thanks for your kind words x Kat
I lived on a caravan site for 5 years on a site who had a 12 month license. If you are thinking of doing it think again. They get damp in the winter and very cold. They are not cheap to buy you get hardly anything in return if you want to move off. Site fees increased 100% in 5 years. You get ripped off on electricity. It'd not the dream lifestyle you think it might be
Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s definitely not for everyone, and those are important points to consider, especially the rising costs and winter challenges. Appreciate your perspective!
I live in my caravan full time
That’s awesome! Full-time caravan living is such a unique lifestyle. How are you finding it? 😊
Hi yes you can get a nebula projector it’s the size of a coke can or the pro version is a bit bigger then u can fit a pull down blind that can be fitted with out screws
Thanks for the tip! The Nebula projector sounds amazing, especially with the no-screw pull-down blind idea. Perfect for small spaces like a caravan! 😊
Main reason I would never buy a motorhome is the cassette toilets 😂 They need to come up with a better solution. This one stinks. Literally.
Actually, if you keep the cassette clean and use the right chemicals, there’s no stink at all! 😊 It’s all about good maintenance-it makes a huge difference! Hopefully, there will be better solutions in the future, but with the right care, they don’t have to be too bad!
@ I”ll have to take your word for that mate, for the time being I will steer clear of this type of vehicles. Although I absolutely love the idea.
Very informative 🙏🏻
Thank you! 🙏🏻 So glad you found it helpful!
That's the beauty of a motor home, you are not restricted to just camp sites and expensive pitches, and believe me, they are a ripoff now, considering what you get for it. It's no wonder motor homes are becoming so popular.
Absolutely! The freedom to explore beyond campsites is one of the best parts of motorhome life. 🚐💨 It’s true, many campsites can be overpriced for what they offer, so more people are opting for the flexibility a motorhome provides!
What a lovely and informative video. I’m a fellow caravan full timer. Of course we face these challenges and more, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thank you so much! 😊 It’s great to hear from another full-time caravaner! You’re right, there are challenges, but the freedom and lifestyle make it all worth it. Glad you’re enjoying it too!
Always take extra washers for the water tap, especially on fully serviced pitches to avoid water leaks. Great vlog,👍
Great tip! 👍 Extra washers are definitely a lifesaver, especially on fully serviced pitches. Thanks for the advice, and glad you enjoyed the vlog!
How well does the additive remove smells?
The additive works really well for controlling smells! 😊 When used properly, it helps break down waste and keeps everything fresh. Just make sure to use the right amount and keep the cassette clean for the best results!
Hi Kat, where does the 28 day occupancy limit come from? Is it gov law, site law? I’m wondering if this is just a site rule because it is only open March to November. 😊
Hi! 😊 The 28-day occupancy limit is usually a site rule to comply with planning regulations, rather than a government law. It helps sites stay within the rules for seasonal pitches, especially if they are open only part of the year. But it can vary depending on location and the specific site’s regulations. Always good to double-check with the site itself!
Great tips Kat. We agree with everything you said ☺️
Thanks so much! 😊 Kat will be thrilled to hear that you agree with her tips. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! 🚐❄️
Winter camping definitely requires teddy bear bedding, lovely and warm through the cold nights, great tips Kat 👍
Absolutely agree-teddy bear bedding is a winter camping essential! 🧸❄️ Nothing better than staying cozy on those chilly nights. Kat will be so pleased you enjoyed her tips-thanks for the lovely comment! 👍😊
Would you use a small plug in dehumidifier in winter ?
To be honest, we’re not sure a small plug-in dehumidifier would be powerful enough for a caravan, especially in winter. ❄️ You might need something with a bit more capacity to really make a difference. Let us know if you try one though-it’d be interesting to hear how well it works! 😊
Damp is a nightmare in winter months. White vinegar is great for cleaning and killing mould. Its also non toxic and pet friendly. Im buying an electric dehumidifier to see if it helps on cold nights.
You're absolutely right-damp can be such a hassle in the winter months! ❄️ White vinegar is a brilliant tip for tackling mould, especially since it’s non-toxic and safe for pets. 🐾 We’ve heard great things about electric dehumidifiers too-they can make a big difference on those chilly, damp nights. Let us know how it works out for you! Thanks for sharing your tips! 😊
It's also good for the green mould and lichen on the outside of the van including Skylights. White vinegar is amazing stuff. Nice on your chips too 😄 🎄🍻
What a stunning van Kat! A dream for us... 😁
It really is! We had a lovely time in it. Kat
Small motorhomes have their advantages when driving about, but you're compromised with storage space, have a large motorhome then you have the space but are driving a bus sized vehicle about which brings about different problems, whatever makes you happy. Great information from the vlog though👍
Absolutely, it’s all about finding the right balance for your needs! Small motorhomes are great for flexibility, but the extra space in a larger one can make longer trips so much more comfortable. Every setup has its pros and cons, as you said - whatever makes you happy! 😊 Thanks so much for watching and for the kind feedback. Glad you enjoyed the vlog! 👍🚐
I think this motorhome is great for two people x
And two small dogs! Thank you Sue ♥️
Why don't you pay to go on campsite you get robbed on their deserve all you get cheap scates 😮😮
Appreciate your concern, but we prefer adventure over amenities. Not everyone needs a campsite to enjoy the journey!
You’re in the wrong country for sleeping free overnight anywhere. You need to be in mainland Europe not on some dodgy industrial estate and if you’re pretending to not be in someone will report your van as stolen or you’re on the game. Most strange.
Thanks for the advice, but we’ve traveled all over Europe in our old motorhome, and yes, it’s true that camper stops and aires make it easier over there. However, we love the challenge and adventure of finding unique spots in the UK too. Dodgy or not, industrial estates work perfectly when you plan wisely and respect the space. Appreciate your concern, but no, we’re not on the game or pretending anything - just enjoying the lifestyle!
Hardly "keeping it quiet" by putting this video out on UA-cam.
Thanks for the insight, Sherlock. We’ll be sure to whisper next time. 😉
Sleeping in a £60k motorhome is not wild camping.
Thanks for your comment! 😊 We understand that 'wild camping' can mean different things to different people. For us, it’s about parking up in places outside of traditional campsites and embracing the freedom of the road, regardless of the vehicle. Whether it’s a £60k motorhome or a tent, it’s the experience and adventure that count! 🚐✨ What’s your take on wild camping?
@@FreedomSeekers-FS Well said - that comment was SO stoopid 😮
@@FreedomSeekers-FS With respect you are not "wild camping" nor are you simply parking as you are inhabiting the vehicle which is registered as a caravan, so the law you need to look at is The Caravan Act 1960. As you mention tents, wild camping in tents is legal in Scotland but this right specifically excludes vehicles. If you occupy land without the landowner's permission then you would be committing a criminal offence.
@@joline2730 It wasn't, check out the law.
Good morning Interesting vlog with nice views nice to see you back on UA-cam We will miss our beloved Diesel but on the other side of the coin he will also have a good life you have to believe in it Greetings
Good morning, and thank you so much for your kind words and continued support! It means a lot to us. We miss Diesel dearly, but we truly believe he’s at peace and having the best life over the rainbow bridge. 🌈💔 Thank you for being part of our journey - we’re glad to be back sharing our adventures with you. Everything you needed to know about running a campsite but afraid to ask. thanks for a nice informative tour.😊
Ha ha ha, exactly! I am glad you enjoyed it. Quite an eye opener for those who think running a campsite is easy! Kat
And I thought the Scots were tight with their money😜 Enjoy folks, just found your vlogs, looking forward to watching your adventures, stay safe 😀
Welcome aboard! Thanj you so much. I think it is a habit from the time we were doing vanlife full time, staying on a campsite was a treat! Kat
Hi there, nice video. I've subscribed.
Hey, thanks :-) Kat
Nice to see you back on the road x
Thank you! 😊 Kat
Saw a lot of stealth campers on that industrial estate last summer, only because I had to go Screwfix for ladders to repair a leaking roof strap on our caravan😢, Newquay looks far better to get around in the winter, brilliant vlog, glad to see you both back creating again 👍
Hi, I remember this! I agree, Newquay after the season is lovely. How is the roof holding up? Kat
@FreedomSeekers-FS Hi Kat, the roof has been fine since, no other problems with the van since then, touch wood🤞
quite literally touch wood :D:D
My earlier comment was deleted?
Hi, not by us! You can always re-post :-) Kat
Lovely motorhome. Looking forward to seeing the inside tour ❤
Of course, it is coming soon! Kat
Hi sorry about your dog 😢🤗Are there many campsites open in the winter in that area?
Hello, thank you ♥️ Yes, quite a few, but the good ones are booked at weekends! Kat
£35 a night….
Steep? Kat
I like Crantock beach the best…
Yes, it is lovely! Kat
Super video. Thanks a lot!!!
Glad you liked it! Kat
We missed your live Kat we were in Bristol Decorating x
Sounds like fun! Next time! x Kat
You have been an inspiration to me and have made my caravanning life so much easier, I’ve just installed a kitchen which I got out of the rubbish dump. I don’t mind emptying my loo as I say to myself I’m finally only cleaning up my own mess . Your tips on mental health are soooo helpful too. Thank you so much for your honesty and the best of luck in your new adventure. Xxxxx
Thank you Julie :-) Very soon you will see that we've made a circle and we intend to get back to our roots! Thank you for your kind words and good luck! Kat
Me and my boyfriend live in a caravan park same as you ours is a 2 bed static caravan and the condensation issue is driving me insane 😭 I've bought a dehumidifier, I've put condensation strips on the windows, damp traps, I open our windows and doors every day and there's still fkn condensation on the window in the front room where our bed is and on the side door and the front door not sure what to do as I'm cleaning black spores off the glass door frames and stuff, we've got a cat and we can't leave windows open except for the kitchen window which leads into an outdoor catio we've made for him so I feel like there's no air circulation no matter what. I dry some of my boyfriend's tshirts on our oil radiator even though its not wise but leaving them outdoors to dry is just not doable cos they take ages to dry sometimes it could be where its cold indoors as well idk
Hi, if you have single glazed windows, I am afraid there is no escape from it. Window vacuum cleaner may be a solution to clear your windows in the morning. The beauty of it is that water collects in a container, which you can empty. Much better than wiping windows with cloths... which then need to be dried in the van... and guess what! Release all this water back into the air. Roll on spring! Good luck and dont let it break your spirit. Living in a caravan in winter is not easy and many people would not manage! You re doing great. Kat
terrible advice most of what shes saying i s wrong
Well, that's your opinion. Thank you for watching! Kat
Thank you. And I enjoyed your video, too.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for reaching out :-) Kat
We lived in our campingcar for 5 years and coped very well. You have the right attitude to this life and like you we managed with much less stuff and utililised the space available. All public facilities on sites were welcome and used by us as often as possible. Your video is excellent because it doesnt glamorise the life whilst showing the best sides of such living; for us that meant moving from place to beautiful place - occasionally not so beautiful but practical - and experiencing new horizons, making new friends and generally being free. Well done.
You summarized it well! So what is your next chapter? What did you do after those 5 years? Kat
Nice to see the gypsy community is still thriving
It definitely does. Today we saw many campervans with covered reg plates in a cctv car park... People are born free. Kat
Watts = volts x amps. So (e,g,) 1000 watts will be 4.5 amps (near enough).
Many thanks!
Hello very lovely that I have found you on UA-cam. We have bought a house in Pedralba. We also like to ride bike. We bought the house a week before Dana. We hope that we soon can arrived there. We live in the Netherlands. About a week we must leave the house in the Nederlands.
Sounds great! We loved Pedralba and the local area. We really recommend visiting Chulilla nearby! Kat
Thanks I Will remember it
