Anstey Sea Anglers
United Kingdom
Приєднався 20 вер 2017
Anstey Sea Angling started in 2015 by a member posting an advert for a fishing group in the East Midlands.
We have 10 in our Group so far. We started mainly beach fishing but soon started to add charter boat fishing trips in the mix.
Phil brought a quicksilver 640 in January 2017 and started running trips out of Cardiff most weekends.
We then moved the boat to Hartlepool.
We fished for 6 months in the Bristol channel and caught 2 cod, we caught a 4.5lb cod first trip out in Hartlepool.
In January 2022 when Keith retired he brought a quicksilver 620, so now we have 2 boats to fish from.
Being Midlands based allows us access to some great marinas within 2.5hrs of our base.
We have also fished from Whitby, Sunderland, Southsea Walton on the Naze and Newcastle in recent years.
We have a boat trailer and move around regularly to keep things fresh and interesting.
We film our trips and have quite a good laugh doing it.

Had the joy of fishing with andy and a couple of his mates on the sea lepoard in cardiff, great vids guys keep up the good work lads❤🦈👍
Thank you, I have edited the Cardiff film and its up on Friday at 7pm.
Hey lads ,, I no it's jst about getting out on the water some times and enjoying a few hours banter etc ,, but catching is the main thing,, buy some silver or gold metal spinner blades 1 to 2 inch blades and clevises very cheap 2 up l down rig with a 2.5 to 3 foot long trace on the bottom two 6 inch snoods further up with between 5 to 8 beads with the clevis and spinner blade sitting in the middle of the beads 5 to 8 mil beads ,, white and fluorescent yellow ,, orange,, and white will all do well baited with fresh lug and mussels,, you really can't go wrong forgot to say about the rotten bottom of coarse ,, I've seen it working all over the east coast of Scotland even up at scrabster and all the way down to sea houses over the border I didn't invent it but a couple of the guys in a previous club used to fish in internationals and are unbelievable anglers ,, bit of advice to definitely improve the catch rates 👍🏴
How much fuel in liters was that roughly thanks
It was 46.4lt. Because I filled up when we got back in and that's exactly what we burned with 3 on board.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers thanks bud and tjats bot bad going is it to be fair 👍🏻
Thanks very much for coming Andy. I love having you aboard, you're a gent. Not the easiest of conditions, but it only takes one bite! Hopefully the weather is good for the 4th September. Best regards, Andy 👍🐳
Thanks Andy Always have a great time when out with you. Really hoping the 4th September goes ahead as my son is with me and every time so far the weather has stopped us getting out. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Shame you had your fish stolen, but what a vid, makes me want to go out boat fishing 👍
I live in shetland and my favourite way to fish is for mackerel off of a beach or cod and haddock off on a boat.
Another great video guys, question, do you use pouting as bait along with mackies?
@@noggin08 occasionally. On the wrecks for ling.
Another great video guys. I'm surprised you didn't keep he maggots for the carp fishermen among you Keith. 🎣🎣
😂
Mma and fishing 👍
well done lads out tomoz from bridlington on the wrecks tight lines
@remskicodhead1 struggling on the wrecks around here at the moment. Hopefully you will do better tomorrow
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers turned NNE so couldent get out to the wrecks just mackerel
Great day out on the boat, love to come out again soon!
Your very welcome on both boats whenever you want.
Great effort again no doubt the Ling will come.
Top vid , twice there was nearly injuries with errant ball weights. Once the leader shows dis engage spool 😊and catch trace or leader. Great action, tho .
Nice one guys. Some braw fish and great banter.
Well done gents another great video.
@philipshaw5715 thank you
I have just watched a The Fishlocker video from when he fished at Sørøya Northen Norway my home country. They threw back countless of cods mutch bigger then yours .You should come visit so you could catch huge cods ,wolf fish, redfish ,halibut, huge coalfish and giant place etc 😊
@@fredsoltveit8453 we go to Shetland for our big cod fix. 20lb is my current record.
Looks like you had a decent day pity about the weather just subbed keep them coming👍👍👍
@@steptoe5584 thank you. In 8 years of having my boat. Thats the first time we have fished in proper rain.
Plenty fish local done 8 mile in total today fish to12.5lb
A couple of nice cod, 54 miles plus the mileage you guys do there and back makes them some pretty expensive fillets, worth it all the same
We do 360 just to get there and back from the marina. So 54.......
Some nice fish coming to the boat on a beautiful day
I feel the same way when other boats come close to ya I started a wee UA-cam channel Cove bay angling club
I take my hat off to you guys putting in the miles to get to your boat, a good day at sea the fish are just a bonus
Thank you. It can be a tiring day sometimes. Mainly when the seas lumpy.
Caught a 7 pound halibut just outside Sunderland yesterday off the boat in feathers baited with macky😂😂😂couldn't believe it
I would love to hook a halibut. Well done for catching one.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers thank you it was only past roker pier
Hi i was fishing from the boat yesterday outside Sunderland and caught a 8pound halibut couldn't believe it
Bravo for your great fishing trip. How much fuel does your pilothouse consume?
With the new 115ph on the back it works out at £2.30sh per mile. Or 1.6lt a mile. Working on 2 people on board.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers Thank you for your reply. consumption was much more with the 100hp?
Look forward to seeing you guys there. I have "Harry Paye " on J13 inner harbour 🙌🏽
We are at sovereign harbour as well. Ours is opposite bens boat. It’s was out for a bit but now back on her berth. The fishing is superb and you really don’t have to travel far to get on the fish. Especially at this time of the year. Good luck with the move lads hopefully see you on the water
Really looking forward to getting down there and bagging a Bass or nice Pollock. Thank you for confirming its the place to be.
You’ll do well. Be great to see you guys down in the marina 👍🏻
It will be great to have you boys brighten up the place down here mate and the fishing is consistently good all year the only variable is far you have to go at times but through the summer months it’s on your doorstep if you want it! I look forward to catching up with you all soon 🎉
Thank you Ben. So looking for to getting on those bass, and With a bit of guidance from your wealth of knowledge I'm sure it won't take long. Cheers.
I have a boat up the north east of Scotland, for the whole of June I think I was out five times weather was so bad
Weather has been awful this summer in NE Scotland. Hardly used either the boat or kayak.
I can absolutely agree on that one. Absolutely pants at times.
@@anotherangleUKI feel your pain.
Loving the underwater footage 👍 would love to see some wrecks on it if you dare risk losing it
On Our latest film from Sunderland the wolf was dropped over a wreck and the footage is on there.
Suierb video mate 👏 ive been a couple eh times it was suoerb just booked a trip for next year out eh scalloway this time enhoy yir trip this year a will look forward to the videl
@allansaunders5007 thank you.
Which marina ?
@davecooper3238 its berthed at Cullivo marina
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers Thanks. Did I once see a tidal generator sat there waiting installation. If so has the scheme been successful ?
@@davecooper3238 hhmmm.. not sure. I can ask when were back there in September.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers Retuning to Shetland. The good lady & I went once just say we had done it. In following years we attended The Dim on twenty occasions. Also been up in the car.
Nice video. How far offshore will you lads take the quicksilver out fishing?
Thankyou. Maximum I've been is 20 miles. This one was 12.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers interesting and I have a QS580 and just wondered how far off others were taking there quicksilver pilothouse boats
Wondered where yous had gone ,keep up the good fishing fellas so great to watch fantastic good crack
Thankyou. yes we dont hang around in one place for too long.
Thanks for the mention. Great video. Will have to catch up for a proper chat sometime. Martin (SWORDFISH) It certainly was a good day out.
@MH52ALE well hello again. Yes. Were out next week from Thursday to Saturday. Maybe meet out on the wrecks.
Excellent fishing off my local area nice under water camera footage fab video
@@jevycodgob thank you.
Nice wolf cam shots, you certainly put the miles in on that trip.👍
@@anotherangleUK cheers.
Not a too bad a day at the end of it, I take my hat off to you guys travelling all the way from Leicester, I have a 45 minute drive which pales into insignificance by comparison, thanks for sharing
@Brian-mb9ez 45 minutes would be lovely. 😆. We would get out a lot more if we were that close. Cheers, yes it's some effort to do the miles before and afterwards. But were used to it now. Looking at Eastbourne next year.
How many sleeps? just a tad excited. Will I need the fly rod? 🤣🤣🎣🎣
@@noggin08 cod and mackerel..... ling rod optional?!!!!!
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers I'm sure Captain Keith will keep me right.
Great fish you in Yell this year?
Yes 6th to 8th September.
Awww come on guys, there's more to brown water, mackerel and cod. Ex Nuneatoner here now in St Ives, Cornwall. You need to try the crystal clear waters down here! X
To be fair. The water can be crystal clear ( at 20 miles ). Watch the techno film from 11th May 2019. We could see down a long way. But yes St Ives is very tempting.... We already do over 6 hrs travelling to fish so whats another 4... ha ha.
@Anstey-Sea-Anglers we sold our boat to move from Nuneaton to Cornwall. Doesn't quite make sense, but it was the only way. Love your videos . Makes me feel like I'm back out on the water again, and in my happy place fishing x
We tip to make measuring the fish a much easier get your selves a meter length of roof guttering with the block on one end and just mark the lengths in cm with a permanent marker slide the fish in nice and easy ,,cheers lads 👍
Very good idea.
We were there the week before you guys shocked at your loss, never known anyone to nick the fish got to be another anglers from one of the other boats. Back there July cant wait.
Were back in September.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers cant be Kevin or his boat digs are not bad either tv needs an update lol
Hi boys , I lived in LFE for 17 years & new nothing of you guys , I now live in Northumberland & fish out of Amble harbour. Small world, tight lines 👍
Well hello, What's the fishing like up there. Were just getting to grips with it currently. Trying to find marks and wrecks that fish. Because we move around to different marinas we haven't got many trips under our belts yet.
Brilliant video , I am out tomorrow from Sunderland in my boat for the first time fishing , is there any thing you aim to go for , or just get out and fish ?
Do you have the navionics app? look for rough ground, Theres tons close in all within 2 miles of the shore. There are wrecks in this ground too. good fish holding features.
@Anstey-Sea-Anglers yes I do , seen a few wrecks close to roker Harbour and the ground looks abit rough to the south of the pier , will try that , thanks for your reply
The flatties are sand dabs not plaice, very aggressive biters for their size. Water should clear up soon hopefully.
Well done Keith and crew nice day out, we start getting westerly’s and high pressure but also high gusts! Can’t write it! Hopefully the winds will drop soon and we can hit the wrecks properly, I can’t wait to get back out, if you would like some I can leave a couple of our stickers in the marina office with Frankie for you Keith or even post them for that matter, keep those lines tight and always Fish Onnn 🎣🎣
Yes please to the stickers. Keith will leave some of ours there too. This weather is terrible at the moment. We were due out this Saturday from Newcastle but cancelled it due to high winds.
Good video lads cracking underwater shot no the wonder there’s so many sinkers lost the camouflage on the cod’s impressive also
Yes, you can see why when uptiding at anchor the line gets tangled round rocks and you loose kit. And this ground didn't show that much on the sounder. Some of the ground goes up and down 10ft!!!! In areas.
Looks like it was a great day, underwater footage was brilliant, keep on fishing 😊
The wolfcam will be a regular thing now.... until I loose it 🙈
Welcome to our back yard!!! Proper fishing here! 😎
