Anstey Sea Anglers
United Kingdom
Приєднався 20 вер 2017
Anstey Sea Angling started in 2015 by a member posting an advert for a fishing group in the East Midlands.
We have 10 in our Group so far. We started mainly beach fishing but soon started to add charter boat fishing trips in the mix.
Phil brought a quicksilver 640 in January 2017 and started running trips out of Cardiff most weekends.
We then moved the boat to Hartlepool.
We fished for 6 months in the Bristol channel and caught 2 cod, we caught a 4.5lb cod first trip out in Hartlepool.
In January 2022 when Keith retired he brought a quicksilver 620, so now we have 2 boats to fish from.
Being Midlands based allows us access to some great marinas within 2.5hrs of our base.
We have also fished from Whitby, Sunderland, Southsea Walton on the Naze and Newcastle in recent years.
We have a boat trailer and move around regularly to keep things fresh and interesting.
We film our trips and have quite a good laugh doing it.

Always enjoy your channel, keep the videos coming in 2025 well done lads you fairly put the effort and the miles in. Thanks for sharing and hopefully 2025 will be filled with even bigger fish
An awesome year. Thanks you guys, can’t wait do it all again, and more in 2025 🎉🎣🍺
Always watching your vids , selling my boat has everthing
we done lads any boat regardless of size it should be fitted with Radar if used near shipping lanes at the end of the day the harbour master was looking out for you A I S is also worth having as you can call the ship on you V H F he`s not going to alter course for a little boat its easier for a little boat to get out of the way even if it means cutting the anchor rope if you have time Buoy it off before cutting the warp also if its foggy a blast of the air horn is a good idea every minute if near shipping lanes tight lines Alain
@willybendit None of the boats anchor in the shipping lanes, we cross them to get to marks but get prior permission by VTS for traffic information.
Nice cod coming to the boat, good job lads
AI saves lives.I wouldnt risk it for a few little haddock and an odd cod , Im even surprised they let you out at all in that river in those conditions.
The Humber is a very busy shipping lane hence the importance of Ais
nice to see a few haddock and cod coming up. jungle drums are reporting good cod fishing from the shore up and down the north east coast.fingers crossed things are picking up.🤞🤞tight lines boys👍
@@lawrencesenior1178 Yes, haddock were a southwest coast thing up until late last year. Now there quite common on the East Coast. There becoming more common than cod.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers hope they do. love haddock👍
That was me on the little fastliner, Gutted they wouldn't let me out, luckily charter boat predator took pitty on me and took me along. Time to buy a better boat like seabrooke me thinks 🤔
@williamcollett4726 I don't have AIS or a radar on my boat so it would have stopped me too. First time I've heard it happe anywhere. At least you got out. Did you catch anything?
@Anstey-Sea-Anglers I have AIS but not radar. Can't really warrant the price for such a small craft. We caught lots of fish, mainly Cod and Haddock. Tell Jeff I'm looking forward to the wrecking trip this summer 😉
@williamcollett4726 he said he saw you on the predator but didn’t get chance to pull you on to ours. A wrecking trip? I will be asking him if there are anymore spaces 😂
Great video again thanks, really enjoyed all the other stuff, looking at the plotter and interaction with other boats and vts. Cheers!
Good stuff !!!! Get the fish quick before the eu thieves turn up & clean out.
Your boat didn't half catch my eye in docks haha. I'm local shore angler and we've been having better luck on fish baits, bluey n mackerel Tight lines 🎣🎣
Well done again all great to watch again. Fishing is fishing.
That’s fishing for you. Have to take the rough with the smooth. I’m sure it was still extremely enjoyable 👍🏻
Thank you for the vid sometime you catch and sometime you don't ,looking forward to your next one 😊 happy Xmas to you all
Hopefully out on the 27th. Thank you. Happy Christmas.
nobody wants a log floating passed them while fishing near the sewerage discharge pipe.🤪🤪
😂😂😂
There's always plenty around there 😂
Any chance on getting out very experienced angler thanks
Are you Northeast based?
Yes I live durhamand have hadmy own boat ut got to expensive for moorings lan
Contact me via Facebook messenger and we can see if we can get something sorted out.
I wish you would stop walking around with the camera as you will make me sick. Sorry cannot watch this bullshit too much up and down you should leave the camera on a stand.
Another cracking video guys. Well edited Phil. Just a wee bit jealous . Hopefully I can meet up with you all at some point next year. Ali the fly fisher and Suicide Jockey.
More adventures are getting planned for 2025 Alister. Yes get yourself down here and join in....
Great looking boat great video tight lines for the next trip
Thank you. Hoping to get out over Christmas for a few trips.
I was out on the same day in the same place.Haddock, whiting and codling.Cracking boat. What is the make and model of the boat?
The boat is a 12m Vigilante, twin engine built by Breaksea Boats.

Fantastic video who was the charter and do you have hos contact details please
Unfortunately It’s a private boat so only takes friends and family out on fishing trips. Charter boat predator is on Facebook who does take angling parties from Grimsby.
Great vid looked like a really enjoyable day out 😊 can you hire the boat out for a days fishing?

Shetland Warriors
Great fishing, what depth were you over?
In some places only 12ft
Some really nice fish there lads, well done. What baits did you use? I'd be giving cart and squid a go for the cod.
Squid, lug, mussels, mackerel , cart. And the kitchen sink 😅.
£80 is a good price..
@@tezzah... absolutely. Got over £400 of meat from it too 😆
Oh my god this clown doesn’t have a clue😢
I love the meat
Fantastic video guys. Well done Andy. It's mainly Roe Dear here in Fife. But I do know where to get top quality Red Dear in Scotland, the butcher in Glen Rothes. I really do think that Dear is an under estimated piece of meat. Yes some parts have to be flash fried, but some done in the slow cooker, are exceptional. I can see lots of venison burgers and sausages from the trimmings. Question, is Fallow Dear hair any good for fly tying? Keep up the good work and I am really disappointed that I could not get down to meet you all this year. Tight lines where ever you go fishing. Ali.
Thanks for the comments. I think fallow hair is good as I believe they are hollow. However at the moment I’m getting all my fallow ready skinned due to my allergies but when I cull some myself I shall save you some fur 👍
Is this a boat you've all clubbed together and bought and share costs?
No. This one's Keith's boat. He brought and runs it himself.
Well done you, showing this... 😎 makes me want to turn the clock back many years, and do what I should have done... Become a farmer / butcher...
Looks nice 😊
Thank you As I said in the video I’m purely self taught but can at least produce some useable cuts of meat 👍
@@henryloveridge3824 Thank you. It is an excellent meat that is very under utilised in the UK
keeping it real boys👍
well done buddy keep em coming new subscriber too well its free init lol cheers martyn van life fisherman 👍👍
Welcome to the channel, I wonder who does the most miles going fishing???
@Anstey-Sea-Anglers good question
Well done lads at least your out there giving it a go most boats in there will not see the light of day till may June time
Cheers, yes we like to fish 12 months of the year if possible.
The fish are just a bonus, the distance you guys travel make it an expensive fish supper
Well done again all on another vid
Evening Gents, what 2 boat do you use, length engine etc, I live in whetstone, I know Phil from years ago, I go sea fishing a lot, just need some help with moorings and where in the NE gents
Quicksilver 640 for me. So 6.4m long with a mariner 115hp on the back. Quicksilver 620 for Keith. So 6.2m long with a 115hp mariner on the back. What boat do you have and where is it currently?. You said I know you too. Contact me via messenger on Facebook if you want more information.
Why do Anglers endure these conditions , Answer , Because we are all Mad who else would put up with this weather .
I agree. 😂
Great job by the cameraman
Thank you.

A Leather jacket Very good eating!
Stick it in the wash .................. it'll be grand 👍🤣🤣🤣
If you know the name of the wreck, maybe contact a history museum? They, or someone might be interested in that....
It was canvas not clothing when I had a look before binning it. It was encrusted with what looked like cement and no barnacles but some small crabs.
And no unnamed wreck
A reasonable outing lads 👌
I have tried to find those weird fat banana shaped jigs/pirks/weights you were using, with what looked like a muppet and hook on the end - but I cant find them anywhere. What's their weight and how do I find them. We are planning to go to the Shetlands next summer and have been inspired by your videos. hope you can help!
The information, and costs are in our pre shetland film on our channel. Glad you enjoyed the films. We have 1 from when we went in 2023 on our channel too. Plus the boat and accommodation are on our channel too. Look for compass rose charter 2023 shetland islands. Cheers
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers Thanks!
We have booked The Compass Rose for the beginning of July.
Brilliant day out - thanks Keith and Terry
First...
That's the family, who blocked the sleep ramp for few weeks on the marina 😉
Great video. Are you an angling club with membership, a group of friends, or both.?
@yorkieangler5446 we're a group of friends. We meet every 2 weeks at the the mash and press in Anstey to plan upcoming trips.
Enjoyed watching your video, it’s always a great experience on Sea Urchin. Thanks for sharing it.
We are glad you enjoyed the video. We are just a group of lads who enjoy our fishing, I’m not saying we are any good at it but we do have a laugh. Hopefully that comes across and people can relate to it 😁
