3:51 Very good job Otacon!🥳
You have my support, love your content
U look familiar;)
@manlymcbeefinton2014 Hey there stranger ;). Nice to see you :D
That stab on Liquid at 11:05 was just straight RUDE.
Portable Ops is the true sequel to MGS3. 4 even acknowledged it. There is no way you can convince me that V and PW aren't the spinoffs.
Apparently you can't mod the PS3 SuperSlim which is the one I have. So that means emulation time!
MGS4 is why I bought my PS3. The disk won't load anymore. I played the damn game ONCE. So I'm dumping all my games, selling my PS3, and I'm playing some MGO2.
Companies need to get used to the fact that they don't own their customers...
No wonder I’ve been getting smoked, I’ve been the only person using first person 😂
You can still playing using first person, but using it is alot trickier for sure. The benefit of first person is that the bullets go where the sight is so if you can control then recoil, you pretty much can work with it. I may update this with more specific tricks
@ watching your video got me to download MGO2 on PC and I’m hooked. I’ll keep my eye out for the updated first person tutorial
@@chuch0tvx ill try and get back to making videos soon, been really busy ever since i moved
Nice video SEAN
Easily my favorite time in online games was in MGO2. Second is BF3, BF4, and BF1. But MGO2 probably took thousands of hours from me.
The Snake missions is very interesting. I wish there were more on that.
Thanks again always for the information!
I still have vivid memory of my days playing MGO. Back then I wasn't good at shooter games in general, and there wasn't any good online resources talking about the tactics, so I just went in like a headless chicken. But some people were genuinely helpful. I was randomly recruited into a clan and they hosted practice matches for everyone to git gud. I don't think I will ever forget those survival matches where we made those insane clutches. The game is also equally fun for casual plays. There were many weird self invented game modes in the unrated scene like the zombie mode. This game was one hell of a drug consuming 2 years of my time like it was nothing. 😂
spent 5 years at blizz as a desk jokckey, then wastes 5 years trying to make a game that isnt even out yet. this dude is clueless, every developer i've ever known knows this guy is a industry plant clown.
Do you know about the Tsundere secret code voices? No a lot of people know about that!
@@circuit-shell yeah its the last voice option, i kinda forgot to mention that one!
This game will always be one of my favorites of all time but MGO2PC has issues. The game was always toxic so it's unsurprising that a lot of active players you will see nowadays are veteran pros and there's still lots of toxicity. Being a 16 year old game that was only playable for most of the last 12 years by modding a ps3, mainly only diehard fans would've gone to the trouble to keep up with it. The odds of convincing any new players who never played before to go download all of this is so small and even if you do they will be thrown into these lobbies with pros who never quit the game and they will get their asses handed to them. There is a low level lobby but I've only ever seen 3 people in it before. Otherwise there's 1-2 MAYBE 3 lobbies ever going. Chat is full of inside jokes and banter between the regulars, they use code and expect everyone to understand. Nonstop vote kicking people the entire game in TSNE because people think they are being funny. They will be toxic in chat and try to kick new players who don't know what they're doing. If you choke they will flame you and they still team kill. Takes forever for a spot to open in the lobbies, regulars will also set a password on the lobby to let their friends join. They also still send mail to low levels in the lobby to get you to leave just to see it was spam mail so they could take your spot lmao. They act like they want new players and yet they don't want them to be there and that is the games fatal flaw. No noobs are going to play survival either lol. This game is too unique and hard to be noob friendly with a 100 person active playerbase. Only hope is a remaster release Regardless, the game is a 10/10 and I love it
i do try and host lobbies on saturdays for people to join and play on stream, but i am only one guy, so theres only so much i can do, but regardless, i want to keep encouraging more people to come in, host their own games if they can, cause once you do, you get hooked.
I miss it so much😢 I was FinRage or something back in the day
Are Steam controllers compatible?

Freaking loved MGO. The first few months or so playing MGSV online, I probably felt like it was the last multiplayer shooter I would ever play. No other game I've played has had such a solid team-based/tactical multiplayer experience. Had some incredible rounds where I would just have a psychic link with a teammate and we serve each other alley-oops all match without ever communicating. Luring and trapping people, rescuing each other, etc. So goddamn fun. But after awhile it became less tactical and more cheesy with all the weird shit you can do, and I couldn't really get into it as much. It's a way higher skill ceiling, but not as fun. I would really love to see another game like it, that tries to keep things slow and stealthy as opposed to leaning into all of the goofy shit. The goofy shit is fun and suits MGS, but I'd like to see something more down to earth.
"sorry but no"
I was ranked 68 in metal gear solid 4 online. I played 5 hours a day to stay in the top 80 back then.
Took me 12 years to get back to mgo, first i had to finish my highschool than finish college, than save money for my degree... Than save money for a gaming laptop and here we are. ❤❤
I remember I jailbroke one of my ps3s to get back on here like 3 or so years ago just to many memories with this game man I should jump back into it.
I used to play when SaveMGO got the game online for PS3 mod only. Was such a thrill to randomly run into an old clan friend of mine in the game. I literally had tears in my eyes. I haven't played it for many years since due to personal stuff but i just downloaded it today and I'm so looking forward to relive my young days in MGO2, the game ive played the most in my life. So many memories ❤
i try to upload the picture from my pc to get my emblem and it doesnt work

Best Online Multiplayer game I have ever played, bar none. As soon as I knew it was back up thanks to this team I went back and now I play weekly.
Hello, thank you for the video, i followed all your instrcutions and i have succeeded to host a party in MGO2. The problem that nobody can join my game, they receive an error "unable to connect to host".. do you know how to resolve it please? i am using a French internet provide called SFR
unfortunately im not too familiar with that kind of error after. usually if you can host, at all then its joinable, the savemgo discord may have more awnsers as to why. in the #help channel
i launched mgsv fine, switched to mgo 3, it freezes on the loading screen...
it was metal gear online 2
This is the best mobile capable tactucal actiomln sneaking game on the market.
Here seven months later it seems Ubisoft needs to grow comfortable going on a downwards spiral.
@lordheartless8396 they saw people get used to not owning THEIR games specifically, thats for sure.
@@sgr_sean ha that is true. Never thought after my days of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 I would feel little to nothing about Ubi.
I'm a Division player, but not even the Division online can come close to Metal Gear Online.
Imagine if for volume 2 we get MGSV (+ mission 51 and chapter 3), MGS4 (MGO2 back (: ), MGPW, MGPO (best game ever I love it and its canon you cant change my mind) and MGRR.
17:10 why doesn't nobody address this, wtf
Metal gear online multiplayer, Its my favorite game on the ps2 & Ps3 Im sad its no longer officially supported.
15:00 comedy gold
Thor clearly does not understand the PoV of a community that doesn't have a "Sequel" to the games they loved and made memories on. atleast that is the impression i get, Thor is a smart person but in this argument i truly do not understand why he is arguing against preserving an older game's online aspect.
To add to my comment, Look at the SOCOM communities, Enough said.
@@TheGoobMeista socom and metal gear are kindred spirits when it comes to having no where else to really go, atleast socom got a spiritual succesor at this point iirc
Mgo was amazing. Back when playstation home was a thing, i played mgo cuz it felt like the same thing but better gameplay. The chat function was ahead of its time in console gaming.
Best online shooter of all time. Been playing it since the beginning with the beta launch Apr ‘08. I wonder if anyone has gotten MGO to run on steam Deck. Lowest settings but still intriguing
I, personally, love both Thor and Sean. I understand both perspectives and have nothing but respect for both people. I do believe that, personally, we should stop demonizing either side. I think both sides make points, and these video discussions are simply public communication. Much love to both creators.
Same. The only issue I have is Thor didn’t really make any points, and any thing notable is basically nothing compared to the actual issue at hand which is games are being stolen and destroyed. Seeing people it isn’t great, someone has to set the record straight
i tried playing it on pc but i have a 4 core cpu r.i.p
God I miss this game...no shooter will ever be able to touch what MGO2 had going for it(or even Lost Planet 2 for me). I plan to download and play on SMGO2, just need to save up to upgrade my pc first(maybe around tax time)
Kojima rolling in his grave the kojima we know now is a clone designed by konami to not sue them.
Video goes hard
The memories! I used to host training matches and teach people how to do all the various special actions and CQC moves. I used to also dress like Luigi, throw people on the ground, then just start harmlessly "slapping" at them with the funny grenade hand-switch animation. And that was just a few of the things that made this game so special.
can they do this to MGSV online?
@@NPC_5439 if it shuts down yeah, people might not like mgo3 but people would still try to restore it for those that do.
i want delta to have online
can confirm that the eu community was just as toxic as na, but there was still a place for not so great players such as myslef to have fun. Great gaming memories
Small fun fact. Thor at 9:40 points out: "There are bad actors that sell Singleplayer games as ONLINE ONLY", but he blatantly ignores that the crew had a Singleplayer Campaign that was broken due to this too. And he intentionally ignores that. Anyways. In my opinion there are 3 cases of what is happening. - 1: Thor intentionally made these BS reasons to cause reverse psychology and cause anger to be there, because anger causes more action. But i don't think he is that smart. - 2: He means what he says and intentionally spreads misinformation due to him being part of a live service games. Which i don't think is likely either. - 3: He tries to Bluff his way through this because he doesn't understand the changes requested and tries to come up with reasons why it is bad. (This is the most likely case)
@@Speiger from what I’ve seen, Thor has made and is apart of software which uses the same bad practices that this initiative is fighting against. Thor has financial motivation to oppose this movement in anyway he can, like making up BS.
