I don't know how I found your profile, but I'll leave this here. I was 20 years old when I watched this film opening night in theaters. I had seen the trailer, and few tv spots, and was a fan of Arronofsky, and so I absolutely knew I wanted to see this. I left that theater changed. Its hard to describe. I felt as if I had experienced a revelation. I was young, I know, but it was liberating and terrifying and emotional. And so I dragged friends to see it hoping they'd experience the same and most didn't care for it. I rewatched it last night and sobbed like a baby just like the first time. From my understanding it indeed flopped in theaters, received negative reviews from critics in Cannes, but received a standing ovation from a regular audience. Arronofsky made this as a way to cope with a close death in his family. The production was a mess considering he received a much lower budget from the studio than he originally asked, after originally wanting to cast Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchette. There's just so much to this film. From Clint Mansell's absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack, to Jackman's most vulnerable acting, to the lack of CGI and the ink techniques he used for Xibalba. This movie will forever hold an incredibly special place in my heart.

The Comanche version IS a dub by the original actors. I think you're wrong to say there is an "entirely" Comanche version. Both English and Comanche versions are great, though, and Amber Midthunder is clearly a rising talent.

I'm one of those people who had watch the movie and wholeheartedly loved every single second of it . I can assure you this movie is not for everyone . It's easy to understand for those who love poetry , language , someone who can capable of imagination . Everything is masterpiece . And soundtrack ........just wow ❤️❤️❤️

I remember hearing part of a description of this film and I had to go watch it from the few things I heard. And it sure didn’t disappoint. Beautiful movie and Darren Arronovski is a phenomenal director.
