    It's amazing how little people know about life. Lets go back to even before JESUS. When in the history of humankind was there no glaring examples of nepotism? The people who're complaining about it seem less than sophisticated to me. They think nepotism is a straight line drawn through the benefactor and the beneficiary. What about all the benefactors, globally, who use their power and influence to GET THEIR beneficiaries placed in industries different FROM their own. Do we know how far the tentacles of nepotism spread? To complain about nepotism is akin to complaining about something as ubiquitous as sand. At this point, im BEGGING, not ASKING, for folks to ELASTICIZE THEIR MINDS and embrace the glorious warmth of sophistication.

    It’s how he got there. If Bron wasn’t his pops he’s not getting drafted

      Giannas is doing the same thing for his brother and no one is complaining bout him having sumone else's spot that probably deserves it. It's no different than bringing a family member into the family business n has no experience. Someone else who's more qualified may get looked over simply because they're not family. It happens all the time in other areas.

    he took a kids' spot who probably struggled to even get media coverage when he was rich regardless... and bronny has gotten every program training and treatment possible, and their are still bigger better players who haven't been drafted.

    Naw actually it is his best move, he cannot win a battle unless new dirt on Kendrick comes out. Otherwise, he just need to go vegan, and just accept that he is a pop artist. Not a bad life, but not what he wanted.

    What’s the point of making music? I don’t understand this perspective. Its because you like making music, you want to make something amazing, something funny, something sad, beautiful, angry, whatever, it’s for the thing you create and the people to experience the thing you create, to speak to someone. Writing to be heard without having anything to say is why there’s so much dogshit

    • @Thebenchplayerpodcast
      @Thebenchplayerpodcast Місяць тому

      I love this perspective. You are looking at it from an artistic standpoint. We are talking about creating moments in hiphop to influence the hierarchy. If Kendrick allegedly just killed the most famous guy in rap, and then put out a great project, he could really create a monent in hiphop we could be talking about for a long time.

      @@Thebenchplayerpodcast i guess I feel different because I am a working musician, I make music! Not the same lane at all - mostly scores, but i felt the itch to say something! Hope I didn’t come off too rude or anything. Peace

    • @PasteurizedLettuce
      @PasteurizedLettuce Місяць тому

      @@Adi-nr9ud I think there’s always going to be a split between popularity underrated vs critically underrated even though strictly speaking, it SHOULD be the latter, because we live in a world where exposure opens up opportunities for these more mainstream albums to become more people’s favourites they can sometimes get an inflated rating critically unless they have a really dedicated fanbase like MF DOOM who essentially is only any kind of known out of sheer talent. Even so, it didn’t save him from being snubbed on something like Apple’s top 100. Mos Def has fans, but he doesn’t have the kind of hardcore following or steady release schedule like RTJ. He’s more like Common or Talib Kweli, of an era of backpack rap known to many people through features esp. Kanye features.

    Definitely wrong. There is no disconnect. It’s the state of music. She’s not sexualized. There’s no market for a female ‘Queen Latifah’ in 2024. It’s all booty clapping. You don’t need a hit to be popular now. She just doesn’t have the advantage of being a dude-so the space you see that exist for artist like Ab Soul, Kendrick and Cole simply doesn’t exist for women. She would need a huge hit like ‘doo wop’ to even get a listen from a lot of the public. Her sound couldn’t be any more unique than it is. Much like J Cole-she’s a North Carolina bars artist with East Coast bars and an elite ability to story tell.

    • @Thebenchplayerpodcast
      @Thebenchplayerpodcast Місяць тому

      Seems like you disagree but had the same talking points. Like the J. Cole comparison and the great story telling. There's more detailed points in the podcast that can't fit in the minute clip where we say the same things you said as far as not being sexualized and the state of the game.
