It is sad that most seasons are filled with obvious analogies, fart jokes and a endless depth of needless exposition when you have great passages such as this. I know many people don't like a feast of Crows but it has some of the most compelling writing with ntriguing pov characters singing the stories of the common/ multi dimensional characters in the whole series.

I think Kevin is Joffery's real father, and thats why Cerce took it for granted Kevin would help her, why he was so offended by Lancel sleeping with her, and why he thought Cerce was the prettiest of her generation, because he slept with her. Lancel did act a lot like Joffery right when he got his knighthood, both letting accomplishments go to their head, This being said i also wonder if Kevin was more like his two sons deep down but like Gemma said "Kevin saw early how things stood with Tywin" so Tywin's presents kept him in check as the good cop. Also if Kevin was Joffery's father, Kevin's last line about Tommen still having his father was extra biting.

GRRM's writing is so amazing. Here I am mad at cersei for being so idiotic when the lannisters are the main villains of the story.

Kevan Lannister was a good man. He cared for his family and would have been an amazing Hand of the King. He wanted his family to be safe. Not seeing his wife after a long time, not being able to properly mourn his son, and his eventual death makes this even sadder. RIP Ser Kevan Lannister.

Kind of unrelated but I was thinking recently does anyone else see the similarities in the Arya Stark storyline and Anya in the Anastasia story? I know George is a major history buff and the story was in peoples minds in the late 90s with the Anastasia movie. Ik Arya is more vengeful and doesn't have Amnesia or anything. But like thinking about it, Arya is also the cheeky daughter and basically princess of the North, her family killed and wandering in search of surviving relatives. Ik I haven't put it very well here and said it kind of rushed but I get a similar vibe from the two stories
