califdad4 : he gained a lot of weight after getting fixed. poor thing he had to have part of his intestines removed when he got fixed as well, he's my little chubbers.

he is a cutie anyway, I love Dachshunds , I'm on #6 a black and tan boy . Did something go wrong during his surgery that they get got so involved? I remember my Aunt finally had her Doxie boy fixed, as they scared her about cancer and he got a infection and was sick a while afterwards, she told me she felt really bad about doing it afterward

Oh jeeze, these Dachshunds will eat anything. Mine got into something in the yard 7 years ago, looking for pecans that the squirel's had dropped in the leaves and wouldn't you know it turned out I had one poisonous plant called a "yesterday today tomorrow bush" and he got a leaf of it with the nut and cost me $2900 at a 24hr EMT vet hospital . He spent about 28 hrs there. I still have him and he is a love, great dog, and this one Vet that came on a few hours after I took him it, figured it out and saved his life, she called me at 5am in the morning, ( i was expecting the call) and just knew he had died and she told me he was doing better, and what a relief that news was.
