Andrew Carnegie was asked to quote for relatively large diameter steel pipes to supply Towns and Cities with constant compressed air. The pipe itself became an air reservoir. Every house on a street would that have micro-generated electricity, and also air conditioning as well as refrigeration for perishable goods and ice. My Great Grandfather Philip Affleck Fraser was Andrew's Chief Engineer. Andrew's favourite girl. was Philip's Daughter The Hon. Mrs R.F. Carnegie (Nee Violet Fraser) THANKS Atlas Copco" for these great adverts, they bring back fond memories of Granny Violet and her Andrew Carnegie stories.
