Brilliant footage , i reckon at least 2 lorry loads per carriage = 60 tons each carriage x 10 = 600 tons, 20 lorries off the road,. its a rough guestimate, anyone know any different ? interesting to know the costs road versus rail, trucks would be minimum £10 p/ton = £6000, i wonder what the rail charges are ? kronospan has used this method of transport for years from wales and scotland, not sure if its to pacify the anti lorry mob or not,.

Thrashing well in creech this morning

It seems to me the UK could do much to reduce CO2 emissions, if they electrified most of their tracks or at least got rid of these outdated diesel locomotives, that seemingly pollute the air much more than modern diesel charger locos. (I get it that some of the types are cool from a nostalgic perspective, as are steam engines - but most modern countries have retired them for good reasons!)

Great capture. 47804 was the locomotive heading the second train, 47746 being on the other RTC working elsewhere. Massive flat on the third carriage of the 47 hauled train evident from the sound.
