What a fish
Amazing
@@facedowninthemainstream Thank you Face Down!
My fav new local fishing channel. Really appreciate the info and look forward to every video.
@@BirdLegacyBlades That's awesome and very kind thank you so much, more to come! Let's Gooo!
@blindsquirrelchannel3853 hope to see you on the water in the near future
Thanks for sharing the info I had some success at Berry with metal head trolling flies because you can troll them fast with those spoons at the same time.
Thanks for the lure tips. Gonna bump up my trolling speed too.👍🐟
Always a nice day at the lake . Great video 👍 we did ok out there today, all the fish came off the lead core nothin on the downrigers
@@lauriebagg3618 Hi Laurie, thanks for thanks for the info, good to know.
Yeah the spoons work great for their that's what I usually do about the second week in December the lake should start to turn over and all those fish will be on top
Have you ever tried to roll a live worm at Lake Berryessa
@@christham9729 Hi Chris, oh for sure I have trolled worms at Berryessa, I use always bring worms and have a worm out. I have caught trout and a huge catfish trolling worms at Berryessa, BUT... by far more results with trolling spoons naked, with scent, no flashers. Now I don't even bring worms fishing, l know that sounds crazy, no worms! Good luck!
Way to go D. How deep are you picking the trout up at. To be honest, I haven't fished berryessa much. Have caught a few in the late 80s. I used to go fishing a lot for strippers and sturgeons. I'm getting my boat ready for some fishing in the Delta and Montezuma solugh . Planning to take my grandson Angelo out. Thanks for your film clips.
@@thomasgallentine5120 Howdy Thomas, thanks for watching and commenting, if you watch to the end of the video I give all the info in set backs, depths, and speed. The main thing is to find bait and chase graph marks and adjust your depths to the marks on your graph. Good luck!
Oh yeah you got them again nice job going to Lake Berryessa next Saturday any advice
@@christham9729 My advise would be follow the birds, look for bird activity and you will find the bait, find the bait and you will find the trout, that's what I noticed. Also, if you are not sure where to fish, find the river channel through the middle of the lake and fish the channel. Good luck!
so what depth and what speed .... please share
@@m.myrick7086 Watch to the end, all the info is provided.
💯
Nice job!
@@Setthehuk Thanks Rusty!
When you attached the that line retrieve bracket on side of downrigger, did you use any special screws? Self tappers work?
@@Setthehuk I think I used the screws that came with it, but I did pre-drill.
😅 Wow, thanks! 👍🏾 💪 Lake berryessa let's go!🎣
@@Pompomgrenade Let's goooo!
Way too persistent! The mammoth area was tough at all 4 lakes. No super bite anywhere from my sources.
@@Setthehuk Better luck next time Rusty!
Thanks for the new video. I appreciate your work. And thank you for sharing your knowledge.
@@rodbaby72 Awesome, thanks for watching and commenting Rod Baby!
Great job! 👍👍👍

Awesome. thanks for the update and cool content.
How Fast are you Trolling? Looks like the downrigger cable are showing a lot of Blow Back?
@@kokemachine83 3 - 3.5 mph
Hiya. What speed do you generally troll at?
He’s WFO!!
Quick release
@@sep649 That's a very positive way to look at a terrible net job Sep!
Like the ideas of braid for downrigger line and rubber release on lead 0:00
Thanks the info. I’m out fishing the mammoth area. First time using my Chamberlain release and they are fabulous! We were just talking about a better spot for the retrieve line to get to release. I’m going to look and see if that side mount style on the Scotty will help.
Let’s go! Check in with studio in am. Call and see if needed. Tell ‘em I said to call
Nice video. I went Sunday did ok , Sunday a better day for the fisherman out there till the weather cools off👍
@@lauriebagg3618 Hi Laurie, yeah all the toys on the lake Saturdays, but Sundays are tough during NFL season! I felt like I missed my opportunity early Sat before all the recreational boaters hit the water, just wasn't in the right spot at the right time early. But I had some action which kept me going, thanks for watching and commenting!
Dude you still caught fish even with supercharged v drives ripping up the lake. I heard you scream from the shore! Good work out there.
@@81randallchadcohen haha, yeah I get a little excited when I catch one, thanks for watching and commenting Randal!
Nice video bro! Been wanting to fish that lake!
@@philipochoa3365 Thank you Philip, it's a great lake, there are Bald Eagles up there too.

Great Videos , What size weight are you using on your down riggers?
@@andyv916 Hi Andy, I am running 10lb Cannon downrigger lead balls. BUT, at higher speeds and deeper depths I get a lot of blow back so I am saving up for 12 lb balls or 12lb fish shaped lead weights.
Nice work. I was out there on Friday tuning in boat before big trip to mammoth. Got a nice big boy broom tail on a metal head fly blue/white. Went 3-4 in 2.5 hrs
@@Setthehuk Thanks Rusty, wasn't my kind of conditions, hot and FAC, seemed like frog water, I was happy to scratch out two trout but the two big SMB was a lot of fun too. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Lots of action! 👍👍👍

I look forward to your video's just wondering what lowrance you're using and if it comes with different transducers, which one looking forward to next weeks video thanks Mike
@@michaellenzi7121 Hi Michael, I run a Lowrance FS Elite 9. This unit comes with a transducer in the box. I also installed an aft unit which uses the same transducer, so two units on one transducer. @@LarryWooten-o7h Hi Larry, thanks for watching and commenting, yeah I get a little excited!
I was out on Berry while you were filming. 2hr boat check was main purpose but put in a few lines and went 3 for 4 with one big boy trout. Hope you had a good day.
Good Luck! You inspired me to give the Folsom Kings one more chance. The water is dropping so fast it's crazy. The speed limit on the lake will be 5mph soon, which is fine for me in my 14' aluminum. I'll be looking forward to seeing your catch!
I don't have a trolling option, any recommendations for baits and depths when not trolling? Been catching bass but no trout on worms, roboworms and drop shot. Love the channel great content!

Check out my vid on "dead sticking" with Gitzit tube jigs tipped with cured Hearing: ua-cam.com/video/21SlDY3-lgs/v-deo.htmlsi=uaXVgvaayesoBUH7 Or purchase an assortment of Marabou Jigs like a black Wolly Bugger and drop it down 5-25ft and jig it up and down. Well done, nice video. Us fisherman love the info like speed and depth especially. Also the size of the fish by measurements but you were releasing so it’s tougher to do.

Are you required to have a boat inspection sticker to launch at Donner?

@@lauriebagg3618 Hi Laurie, Let's Gooooo!
How fast do you troll when you run spoons
@@ChadAdams-qm3hs Hi Chad, from what I have noticed, you have to vary your speeds to find what they want on any given day, last Sat 3.0 was the sweet spot, then this Sat seemed 3.2-3.3 was the sweet spot. When the fish are really biting, I have gone up to 4 mph. Also, understand the speed range of the spoons you are pulling, in general the smaller the spoon the slower the speed and the larger the faster. Good luck!
@blindsquirrelchannel3853 thanks for all the info very helpful Tight lines brother
