Little orchids
Netherlands
Приєднався 27 вер 2013
My orchids, Cats and other things. Focus is in my small orchids, but I also take a look at the bigger ones now and then.
Zo plaats je je plak aan nagels! ( not orchids)
NO, I don't switch to a nail channel.
This video has nothing to do with orchids. I make press on nails as an other hobby. This video is an instruction on how to put them on.
It's meant for those who buy a set from me.

Repot Cattleya + Zygopetalum part 2

Now it's time to give them more space and new grow medium.
Big repot. Not an orchid but Clivia.
Переглядів 1,4 тис.5 місяців тому
I really needed to repot this huge huge Clivia. It not only took up alot of space in the greenhouse, but there was no space for roots in the pot.
Typical Danish Christmas home decoration.

do you have orchids whose flowers make funny shapes like monkey faces and so on.?
@@ericnyamu9981 i have 1 Dracula orchid, but they don't do well for me. They like a cooler environment.
Are you using the coconut fibre to hold more moisture or does it help the roots dry out?
@@alanm9523 it don't hold moisture the same way as moss, but more than just bark. And it stay airy longer than moss do ( don't compact the same way).
Beautiful plants and repot, I hope they all do well for you. And I hope you will feel better soon.
Eerste Hulp bij Orchideeën 😁
@@YnseSchaap it worked😁
@@littleorchids5674 I've done it with broken Dendrobium canes 😁
The Wezellii really doesn't like repotting, mine is still sulking (also comes from Akerne) My Jungle Monarch is still struggling from the move three years ago, it doesn't want to give up (also had a lot of mealies)
@@YnseSchaap yws, sometimes they don't know what is best for them🙃 I don't hope I disturbed wenzelii to much. Only time will tell.
@@littleorchids5674 All members of the Coelogyne family hate repots 😁although my Cristata is behaving very nice but I just potted it on and didn't do anything to it
Is it perhaps Miltassia Charles M Fitch ‘Izumi’?
It look alot like it, but the petal/ sepals are different.
The red flowers is a Howeara Lavaburst 😁 The Purple one is of the Brassia group (can't find the proper name)
@@YnseSchaap dank je wel Ynse. Yes the purple one is indeed a Brassia/Oncidium alliance. I think maybe EJ know the name. I have seen it in his collection. Happy you gave me the name of the red one. I think I found one of the other names for it Rodriguezia. I might be wrong, but alot orchids change names faster than people change socks😁
@@littleorchids5674 🤣I think it's the same plant I had it as Howeara, it also comes in yellow
Oncidium
@@evergreen8965 Thank you, I know it's an oncidium alliance. I was more looking for a name😊
Lovely plant. Though the length of the flower stalk will mean it takes up a lot of space. So sadly can't fit it. Thank you for sharing. Good luck with growing your plants and getting new ones!
The green orchid looks like a magician or wizard! Amazing form and yes there’s some orchids with distinct scent. Wow! ❤♥️♥️♥️🌱👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️♥️ #orchid #orchidcare #repottingorchids #orchidrepotting #wateringorchid #tolumnia #orchids

@@Evelynmay88 thank you🥰
That is a big bush, hope mine gets that big 😁
Looks a bit like Prostechia. I think I want one 😁
@@YnseSchaap i will have a look in the pot, when that time come. Maybe something fall off😉
great terrestrial. Hard to believe it goes completely dormant over winter to then grow so big over summer only. Thanks for showing. And the tolumnia, what a sight. Amazing.
Yes, I just got it last autum, I was surprised to. 😊
Black Comet is I think one of the easiest orchids to start with, it's so forgiving 😁
@@YnseSchaap it seems to be a strong plant. I have 3( i think) other Prosthechea ( whatever) that are not that strong. I they go " down" its a loooong recovery to get them back.
@@littleorchids5674 I have a small yellow one it just had a repot and so far it's doing ok, the Black Comet has been split and mounted and it already gripped the mount and is plumping up
Hello
I have 2 cats using bettergro mix eith my own dryed bulk moss white.
Those are really amazing root systems.
great looking yellow epidendrum. I'm missing one of those in my collection still
Love Zygos , thank You , do You keep the Zygo in - or outdoors ? Have a beautiful Weekend 🍀👋
They are indoor. 😊
Thanks for share 😊
You are welkom.
Beautiful new plants! ❤
That's a nicely grown plant 👍👍👍
Yes, and I hope I can grow it bigger😊
@@littleorchids5674 👍
Very nice new plants. I love the pink Antelope type Dendrobium, a good choice as these are hard to come by as flowering size.
Yes, I was lucky my number was pulled first☺️
@@littleorchids5674 👍
Beautiful ❤
It's called Dendrobium Leporinum (latin name for rabbit is Lepus) 😁
Thank you❤️
I really like Vandas but they are way to big and very difficult to place (or hang) 😁
Thank you🥰
Lovely garden, Its the bees knees.
Nice and clean 👍
Thank you😄
I ordered the Bletillas from the same nursery but I got mine out of dormancy too early, You have your Vandas outside already ?
Yes, they " sleep over night" in the greenhouse, and only come outside, when weather is good. 😊
@@littleorchids5674 😁it's horrible weather at the moment so mine stay inside a while longer
Ya, where did the summer go??🙄
@@littleorchids5674 it will be a bit later, I think we're going to have a warm summer right into October
O so great you did think about me 🎉 that Miltonia is beautiful! And good to see you do enjoy semi hydroponic as well! ❤ you have a wonderful collection.
Very beautiful collection . Love them all . 🤗
👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
Congratulations on your award! Well grown!
Thank you.
Very well done with the D. senile : my third (and definitely final !) one is dieing on me as we speak !! Any tips appreciated !
How do you grow it? I change the moss at least once a year, so it don't turn acidic. And I don't let it dry out for long, when it whinter rest. My humidity is 70%+ most of the time.
CRAZY finger nails !!! 😂❤
It follow the person😜😂
My Tolumnia is growing and rooting (that Senili is amazing first time I see the flowers, Roger had one for years and he never got it to flower)
That color change comes from all the different variety's they mix to get one specific color and most people that buy them never get them to rebloom, they just buy new ones, so they never have our problems
You are so right😊
That's why Pip is not allowed in the grow room 🤣
😂
How often do you calibrate the new ph meter?
The one i have ( Adwa ph meter), i do 1 time a month. And when I have an idea it don't show correct. Also it's not one of the cheap china things. I use calibration fluid 7,0 and 4,0 + i put some special fluid to keep it in.
@@littleorchids5674 I had a cheap one which I gave up on. I use ph strips now
Great repot! Nice looking plants 🌱 ❤
My to do list only gets longer, never shorter 😁I've been repotting all week
Just got some more light up. Hope the plants like it. Work never end, but we must love it, else we didn't grow orchids.😄
@@littleorchids5674 😁
Nicely re-potted, thanks for sharing. I'd be interested to know if the cocoa fibre would do well in this type of mix. Please update in few months. Thanks and happy growing.
Nice work Brassia Eternal Wind is Brassia Rex after the one parent was renamed. Either way, it’s hard to find here in the US now.
Odonto's can grow really well on a mount I had a Jungle Monarch on a mount for years and it was big. CauloCattleya is an easy one to grow but when it gets stressed it will go down in record time and it takes forever to get it back. I can't get my Gastrochillus to grow but it won't die either 😁Your keikies are doing great, the Phal Equstris has a new leaf end both Tolumnia's are putting out new roots (Variegata even new growth) That Nobilé is a Springdream Apollon the one I have isn't although it looks like it.
Gastrochilus need to grow at humidity 70%+ thats why I have it in a small terrarium, it must not be to moist either, the Tolumnia variagata grow like crazy if it like the condition.
@@littleorchids5674 I have a humidity of 70 to 85 % so that isn't the problem, I just took it of a mount and back in a pot (aquarium pot with big bark) I need to remount the Tolumnia to keep it on the mount 😁
A lot of orchids
A lot of Orchids
Beautiful white blooms 🤗
Lovely flowers, thanks for sharing
