Welcome to my creative outlet!
I post Acoustic/Electric instrumental guitar covers in various shapes and sizes, along with some original material and product demos. I've played guitar for about 25 years and worked in the Musical Instrument trade for about 20 years, whilst also playing in various Pub/Cover bands and teaching guitar part time.
I enjoy all forms of music so cover quite a variety of styles and genres here. I'm a big fan of Fingerstyle and solo Jazz guitar playing, e.g. Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Pass etc. so there's a lot of this influence in my playing.
In recent years I have been learning music production so I also produce and post full band mixes. Everything I record is played in my home studio and recorded from scratch (including drums and MIDI instruments which I programme).
Thanks for stopping by!

APT. – ROSÉ – Fingerstyle Guitar Arrangement
My solo fingerstyle guitar arrangement of the song ‘APT.’ by Rosé (featuring Bruno Mars).
I’ve kept this arrangement in the original key of C Minor by using a Capo on the third fret. This then allows for open chord shapes to be used throughout, as though the song was being played in Am, using mainly the open chord shapes of ‘Am’- ‘G’-‘F’-‘C’.
I found this song much more challenging for the right hand because the melody falls within the open chord shapes. This means there isn’t any big jumps or much playing further down the neck for the left hand (in my arrangement). As such, it is a great song to play for working on rhythmic technique and working on combining picking with strumming patterns with the right hand.
The structure of my arrangement is the same as the original song, apart from the first few lines of speaking. I thought about trying to put something in for this, but in the end decided to just come in where the drums and lead vocals do in the original song. Tempo wise, I tried to play it at a similar speed to the original but at a pace which also felt natural, making sure it worked for fingerstyle method. I thus did not use a metronome when recording (as is the case with almost all my fingerstyle covers).
This performance was recorded with an SM81 mic pointed directly at the soundhole and an Aston Spirit mic a bit further back, slightly offset to the neck end of the guitar. I also included a very subtle synth pad behind the guitar in the mix which is playing the root note of the chord. This is an idea I got from recording with my Godin MIDI guitar. I had to add the part after recording on this piece though because I was using the Taylor acoustic (rather than the Godin). The synth part is very quiet to the point that it is barely audible, which I did intentionally to add a very slight ambience without detracting from the guitar performance.

Juno - Sabrina Carpenter - Fingerstyle Guitar Arrangement
Переглядів 368Місяць тому
This is my second Sabrina Carpenter fingerstyle guitar cover, this time of the song ‘Juno’ from the hugely popular 2024 ‘Short n' Sweet’ album. Juno isn’t one of the very big hits from the album, but I wanted to do an original arrangement and figured that this song probably hadn’t already been covered for fingerstyle guitar. It’s also my favourite song from the album beyond ‘Please Please Pleas...
Jingle Bell Rock - Instrumental Guitar Cover
Переглядів 301Місяць тому
Happy December 2024 one and all! This is my arrangement/cover of the classic Christmas song ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, originally recorded by Bobby Helms in 1957. It has been extensively covered by various artists since then and is always given plenty of airplay every year around Christmas time. This cover isn’t based on any other arrangement (of which there are lots). I went for a typical swing groov...
Abracadabra - Steve Miller Band - Instrumental Rock Cover

My cover of the song ‘Abracadabra’ by the Steve Miller Band, recorded in 1981 and interpolated in the Eminem song ‘Houdini’ from 2024. This arrangement follows the tempo and key of the Steve Miller band version. The main guitar melody in the first two verses also follows the vocal melody form the original Steve Miller song. The chorus is very similar in both versions, but I included some effect...
Landmines - Sum 41 - Fingerstyle Guitar Instrumental
Переглядів 1882 місяці тому
My solo acoustic fingerstyle arrangement of the Sum 41 song ‘Landmines’, from the 2024 album ‘Heaven :x: Hell’. This arrangement is slightly slower tempo than the original recording. I kept it in the same key of E♭ Major by down tuning the guitar by one half step, then playing it mostly using ‘open E’ chord shapes. The acoustic guitar part is played in the solo acoustic (fingerstyle) manner I p...
NEW Ultra II Stratocaster - Classic Song Medley - Played Fingerstyle

A medley of some well-known single-coil, guitar-based songs - played on the new Fender Ultra II Stratocaster with a clean tone. The guitar in use is the SSS model in Avalanche finish with a maple fingerboard. The entire video is played with the pickup selector in the fourth position (neck and middle). This is the pickup position I like the best for playing in this style… which is of course enti...
INBUILT Effects Unplugged - Yamaha TAG3C TransAcoustic Jam

Using the inbuilt effects onboard the new Yamaha TAG3C TransAcoustic. The guitar was unplugged during this recording, with the sound being picked up exclusively from two microphones, a Shure SM81 (pointed at the sound hole) and an Aston Spirit (pointed at the body). This combination of large and small diaphragm condenser mics was intended to give an accurate representation of how the inbuilt ef...

Playing the new Yamaha TAG3C Trans Acoustic using the inbuilt looper. The guitar was not plugged in during this recording, so the looped sound is coming straight from the inbuilt speaker and being picked up from two mics - a Shure SM81 (positioned at the Sound hole) and an Aston Spirit (positioned at the body). The first loop is based on the first two verse bars of the Van Morrison song ‘Moonda...
Oasis Fingerstyle On The NEW Yamaha TAG3C TransAcoustic

This is a selection of Oasis songs arranged for fingerstyle guitar, played on the brand-new Yamaha TAG3C TransAcoustic. This video was part of some promotional content I recorded for the product launch / release. These arrangements are mostly sections from songs I have previously recorded in full, from the albums 'Definitely Maybe' and 'What's The Story Morning Glory'. They are all in their ori...
The Emptiness Machine - Linkin Park - Solo Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar
Переглядів 2,9 тис.4 місяці тому
My solo fingerstyle arrangement of the new (at time of publishing) Linkin Park song ‘The Emptiness Machine’. This follows the same structure and key as the original song. I tried to include as much of the dynamics and vocal melody as possible whilst modifying various sections to fit the arrangement (for solo acoustic guitar).
Funk 49 - Instrumental Rock Cover
Переглядів 2294 місяці тому
My instrumental cover of the song ‘Funk #49’ by the James Gang, released in 1970. I based this more on the cover by Blues Saraceno, which is simply titled ‘Funk’ (from his debut album in 1989). It is a faster tempo has some embellishment of the main riff in the chorus, which is also an instrumental part in the original song. Unlike the Blues Saraceno version, I tried to mostly follow the vocal ...
Streets of London - Fingerstyle / Instrumental Cover

Cover of the popular folk song by Ralph McTell, originally recorded in 1969. This arrangement follows a similar tempo to the original recording and the same song structure, except for an extra bar I added for the outro. The arrangement is in two distinct parts. The first two verses and choruses are played as a solo acoustic fingerstlye piece, with a subtle cello and violin string section behind...
The Crawdad Song - Solo Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar
Переглядів 3945 місяців тому
This is my arrangement of an old American Southern folk song called ‘The Crawdad Song’, also known as ‘The Crawdad Hole’. I recently found out this song meant something to a dear departed relative of mine, so I wanted to give it a go as a fingerstyle arrangement, partly as a tribute, but also simply because I liked the song! I had no idea before learning it that a ‘Crawdad’ is in fact another w...
Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers - Instrumental Cover
Переглядів 3385 місяців тому
This is my Instrumental guitar cover of the popular Bill Withers song "Ain't No Sunshine" released in 1971. This cover follows the same structure, tempo, and key of the original recording but with the vocal played on lead guitar. I slightly filled out the melody in between the vocal lines but kept it all relatively simple and in the same style as the vocal melody, which is quite bluesy. I playe...

Can you save your loops and recordings?
I want one
This is one of my favorite songs ever made. Love it! Great job 👏🏻
Thanks a lot! Yeah it’s such a great song. Their self titled album (that this song is from) is really good too 🎶
Shaun Murray's excellent arrangement! Well done.
Wow, this is amazing!
Not familiar with original. However enjoyed your arrangement. Great playing as usual.
Beauty
Groovy!
is this in drop D tuning?
Fingers may have been placed correctly all the way here and there. But an acoustic guitar does not sound like that.
So I know a lot of well known guitar UA-camrs have been making videos about the epidemic of fake guitar playing recently (I watch them myself and also get infuriated by it). Seriously though, please be careful when throwing around accusations like this. Not only is it deeply insulting to the hours I’ve put in to composing and performing this arrangement, but you are simply wrong sir. This is 100% my own work. It is a solo arrangement and the guitar was played and recorded in ONE take. FYI, my channel is currently not monitised either, I post my videos for the fun it brings me. I have a small audience of people who enjoy what I do and that’s good enough for me. Addressing your allegation directly… Yes, I did do some post production for this recording, which included adding reverb along with two rounds of EQ and compression (both channel and bus). This is all very standard stuff for recording an acoustic guitar. If you are referring to the very quiet synth pad that’s underneath the guitar, I recorded this in after the guitar, simply to try and do something new and creative for this particular piece (I record a lot of acoustic guitar you see). I mentioned all of this in the video description. Now, if you don’t like something about the video… say the song arrangement, the tone of the guitar, or even the camera angle or video thumbnail, then all that is totally fair enough. Give it a thumbs down as well if you want. However, the suggestion something fake is going on here is something I can’t abide. The funny thing is I actually did not even use a DI for this recording, the sound is purely from the large/small diaphragm mic combo you can see in frame (again details in video description). So in summary, this video is honestly a very good example of what an acoustic guitar sounds like when mic’d up. Apologies for the long response, but I wanted to address this thoroughly as this feeling is clearly becoming more common (for all musicians to deal with), especially if AI becomes more prominent future in music creation.

This is so beautiful omggg💗
I've got mine when it was a pretty new stuff on the market. I had to change battery afterwards and it's ON again. Man this thing rocks and it still does the day today. I am using it in every gig and it never stops amazing me. I love it. When it comes to the new devices nowadays - yeah it's a temptation, but hey GT-PRO has got what it takes and it provides amp and effects of a high studio quality. As for the driver updates - no problem. Just search the internet for solutions. I did and I managed to modify the Windows 7 driver and made it work with Windows 11. Everything works fine.
Nice arrangement, TR!
Thanks a lot a Kev mate, always appreciate you stopping by!
cool
can you play “heavenly “ Cigarettes after 6?
Sorry no, to be totally honest I hand’t even heard it 🤣. Just gave it a listen though, nice song.
Sounds great ! Cool version ! 🎸🎵🎶
Cheers Adam, thanks for all the support my friend!
Waw!!!
WOW❤❤❤❤❤PERFECTO
I prefer the POD HD Pro over them and the Line 6 wasn't expensive in the market today either. I think even the Behringer V-Amp pro sounded better than the old Boss on preamp section though the effects are better on the Boss. I remember Boss from that era still sounded digital on amp modelling.
Agreed that the effects are better than the amp modeling. Never used Behringer gear but know it’s supposed to be great value too 👍
Good if you want to collaborate with us on times like these by foo fighters
Would I be able to use this instrumental for a wedding video I filmed? I could have the couple credit you. It's gorgeous. Let me know.
Yes if you are able to. Many thanks for asking, I’m really pleased you like it and would want to use it for that purpose 🙏
@@TRGuitar yes it's beautiful, just made my day. thank you and will let the couple know as well to credit you if they post it,
This is Brilliant!
Thanks!
I've got tube amps, a Helix, and several different rack preamps like this. What have I learned? These units are still every bit as good at a fraction of the price. The other stuff is hype and maybe some very minor improvements
Great tune, well played. A swinging yet calming listen. Usual acomplished fingering.
This is magnificent
Dicey marketing. Heavily promote before holidays, meanwhile nobody has these in stock!
Yooo feeling this my friend 🤙🏻💯
Glad to hear it! Thanks
Just brilliant Tom. Great performance! 🎶👍
Thanks a lot John!
Great rocking version ! 🎸🥁🎵
Smashed it once again. Great playing and arrangement. A good choice of tune.
Excellent performance! I really enjoyed this cover. Well done! 👏
Great! Btw is that godin guitar not loud when pure acoustic only?
Thanks! It’s not very loud when played acoustically no. It’s got a chambered body, so it’s louder than a solid body electric (for example), but it really needs to be amplified for any performance based use. It’s ok to play unplugged just for practicing though. Great guitars though generally!
Great version. Great improvisation. Great overall msound and timings.
Wow - nailed that Joe Pass version. All of this is Impressive
Thanks a lot!
Cool rocking version ! Jam on ! 🎸🎸🥁🎵
Nice one Adam, thanks a lot! 🎸
Awesome cover man! Top-notch playing! 👍
Cheers Kev, always appreciated 👍
I would love to hear this mic'ed up in a room. Your playing is *fantastic* but the line-in feed sound makes the higher notes disappear behind the lo-mid range ones.
Thank you. Agreed, the direct line from the inbuilt preamp rarely sounds as good. That said the ES2 system in the Taylor guitars sounds better than most - still no substitute for a pair of good mics though. Thanks for listening anyway 👍
WOW!! 👏👏👏
Thanks!
Очень круто! Можно ли попросить вас дать табы к вашей аранжировке? Буду очень благодарен
Sorry but I do not use tabs or have the facility right now to transcribe my arrangements. Appreciate you listening though. Thanks!
@@TRGuitar Я был бы даже готов их купить. Советую вам начать писать табы, и продавать их!)
if you have this one tabbed out, I would paypal you some money to get it. Love this arrangement better than the classical guitar arrangements.
Thanks! If I had an easy way to transcribe my arrangements I definitely would, especially if there was a business opportunity! However, right now I just do this for a hobby. I Appreciate your comment though and thanks for listening.
Amazing i really wish i could play like this, absolutely amazing. Full respect bro keep it up
That's really appreciated, thanks very much!
Awesome arrangement and playing, would love to have those tabs :)
Thanks! Sorry I don't have tabs because I just play by ear. All arrangements are fairly similar to the original parts though. You should be able to find some good tutorials on YT for both the original parts and fingerstyle arrangements. Thanks for listening!
🔥🔥🔥
Such a good arrangement. Cello overdub just great.
awesome!
By chance I've come across your clip. To be honest I wouldn't have expected such a high level of technical proficiency and brilliant sound. That was really great! 👍👏 The undeserved little number of likes can only be due to UA-cam invisibility.
Thanks very much for watching, and of course for the kind words as well!
Purely as listener, a great sound, great arrangements.
