Man Afraid - (All This) In Defense of Blood and Land
great song - D4 lyrics are top tier
still one of my favorite bands; i keep coming back to D4 still 25 years later
First punk band I ever saw live. Major influence
My MA 7" melted in the back of a car in the summer of '97... Thank you for posting these. It's the only way I can listen now.
Curious why this was first on the comp? This is a strong contender for my favorite Man Afraid song, but it was released on No Slow...All Go which was released after Uphill Struggle, right? There aren't many more ferocious lines in music than "COWARD - you're not even worth your breath - what makes you think you've got a right to question anything they say?"
Man, taking me back to touring in 97. This was in my mixed taped.
I used to have this sampler back in like 2004.....no idea what happened to it...I was a very nomadic teenager. This shit brings me back
Jams
In a world where death squads - I mean freedom fighters - as tools of the power elite, are hailed as heroes and the body count grows higher as we speak how can we entertain the notion that it's justice that we speak? The rising sound of clanging shackles smacks of our hegemony. God damn I miss this guy. I'm coming back to this almost 30 years after writing it on a college wall and to me it's one of the most powerful lines in all of hardcore.
Easily 1 of my favorite songs of all time. Love this band with all my heart
"You are not a loan."
Love the metal guitar that comes in on this track. I remember buying a metal zone pedal in the 90s because of this song.
how is there only 15/16 likes on this?
I can dig it.
I have this gem still.. what's it worth?
I used to have this 7". Was great to hear it again
Truer now than ever, the billionaires have their great reset all worked out and we give our consent
Nice tune
“Watching friends go by, losing another battle deep inside, some things are better left unsaid”
Best Chicago powerviolence band? Maybe. Them, or Charles Bronson, or My Lai. OOooh! Or Los Crudos! Metal as fuck.
I will just be having another boring day walking around and I will sing to myself “he was preaching at the bus stop he was drunk
Anyone come here in the past couple weeks just to hear the sample at the beginning?
They got it all worked out,,......
love this song
Hey me!
Their best song, period.
forgot about this band, used to love their EP
one of the best d4 songs
chumbawamba is the greatest band that ever lived. this owns.
Still relevant in 2019.
Always will be. 👍 Cheers!
@@offtherecord912 Still relevant in 2020.
He was preaching at the bus stop, he was drunk Drunk on mouthwash, talkin' shit He asked for a cigarette I gave him a mint A lady asked will the six be soon He asked her if she'd like to take a trip to the moon His sarcasm reeked of loneliness And I know I hated him through the snow I could see a reflection Fragile’s the hell we make for ourselves when we acknowledge that the spotlight's on He was getting more obnoxious and he wouldn't quit Even though our faces read you're full of shit And then she split for another stop He asked for a smoke again and he was pissed I said no He made a fist so I pulled out my dick "try smoking this" So familiar it was killing me, so full of shit at only 15 Fragile’s the hell we make for ourselves when we acknowledge that the spotlight's on He was me in high school, a stereotype, a well-trained tool But since then I’ve learned that all clowns aren't fools But if the me of then could see me now, I’m sure he wouldn't listen up anyhow He’d say "I knew you when you used to matter" But I’ve known him since he wasn't so easily flattered
