@rjac1989 You are doing an excellent job writing your own songs. They sound very familiar to Shenmue. I wish Shenmue 4 gets made for PS5 and Switch 2. Shenmue 2 has so many memorable moments, and the music is amazing 👏 I was listening to your Yuanda Zhu insights recreated track, just now great track. Please recreate rooftop camping when you get a chance 🙏

Wouldn’t mind experiencing Shenmue on the Switch too but do you know what would be even better? Shenmue 4 on the Dreamcast just to keep it old school. Oh I love that track too, though I remember it wasn’t an easy one to cover! I promise I will look into the big dipper theme 👍thank you so much for your continued support man

@rjac1989 It would be the biggest dream for all Shenmue fans to play the entire series on Dreamcast. I think if Shenmue 3 was released on Dreamcast after 2 came out, we would 🤔 have probably played Miao Village. I always wanted to experience that village and Louyang. I hope we get the chance to see Louyang in later installment and not get cut from the story.

I appreciate you asking Danny, I’m doing well thank you :) Yeah it has been a long while since I uploaded anything. Quite a few things happening over the past year but I’m hoping I can get back to uploading more regularly very soon! That‘s very kind of you to say man. I uploaded an extended version of Ohshu Soba because I forgot to pitch bend the strings at the beginning in this version 😅 It’s a small detail but it really does add to the song. I agree though, it’s a very dramatic and unusual piece, set in a pretty random location. You could pass the place multiple times and never know it was even there but I sort of like that about it. Thank you again for your patience and continued support whenever I upload music man. It really does mean a lot to hear people still enjoy listening to my remixes!

Thank you very much! From what I can remember, you hear this track when Naoyuki and Ichiro unexpectedly visit Ryo’s house to check up on him. You can also hear it playing before you enter a flashback sequence as you board the boat. Also it is played at the beginning of Shenmue The Movie.

PS: Listening to your 'Holiday Street Jingle' again day in and day out and just wondered: wouldn't it be cool to have a complete x-mas themed playlist? With everything = all x-mas songs from the game, kitchen brothers and yourself. The ultimate Shemue festive season soundtrack.

Kitchen bros seem to consider it, that would be so cool! X-mas music is one kind of its own and I'm not sure if I can pull it off, especially since I lack all those Shenmue instruments/plugins/samples. But maybe, for the sake of participation, I would try to make one such song. If you decide to go for it, please let me know! If not this year, then next one, Shenmue will live on for us anyway <3

@SurvivalSpheres Well that’s good to hear! It would be really awesome to collaborate with you guys. I’m certain you could pull it off! One thing that always impressed me is how you found ways to adapt to those limitations and just go for it anyway, like the songs you released on Suka Pass, they’re really excellent and you captured the spirit of the music effortlessly without even using the original samples. Oh definitely! I hope we can work together very soon! :)

Well I do appreciate, thank you very much. That would have been cool to be a part of man, to be fair though I’m just happy there is a Shenmue 3 in general. If they ever need a spare composer for 4 though, I would love that opportunity! At the moment, besides working on the Dragon and Phoenix project, I’ve been writing some music for a friend of mine who is working on his audio drama called The Everlasting Shenjiu. It’s a nice change of pace if I’m ever struggling for ideas centred around Shenmue and allows me to write a little more freely. I’m also hoping to put together another Shenmue inspired album, sometime maybe early next year if all goes well but we’ll see!

@richardcartlidge7732 I want to see the fights with Chai in real time in Shenmue 4. They were all in QTE in the 3rd game, I think it was done like that because of the small budget they had to create the game.

Yeah man despite the budget being considerably smaller, i still enjoyed those brief encounters with him. Would have been cool to also fight him in real time to mix things up though I agree. Qte’s are actually one of my favourite parts of the game. I’m hoping they might be more challenging in 4 though, particularly like the second game as you proceed up the yellow head building!
