I put my hands on it in the store. Felt cheap. Not super cheap, but cheap. High quality cheap lol. Im probably going to get one for the garage at home and small home projects. Should be perfect for that and last awhile bc it might get used a few times a year. Thanks for the review man. I do have plans on building my own utility trailer. Think this can handle that?
These do not last 8 months and your out you money not worth it
I love that intro music. Makes me proud to be an American, in some weird way.
I just started using mine about 3 weeks ago. Literally failed at every aluminum project I tried in the past. Still trying to make my beads more uniform and pretty with the omnipro, but first project, a light gauge angle aluminum frame to cover the base of a mobile parts bin, literally couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Used the spool gun I bought with it a .30 wire and a “last kid in the class” slow wire feed and pure Argon of course. Very rewarding to have awesome results at something I literally sucked at last time I tried.
The phase "I haven't used it for more than 4 or 5 minutes at a time." Is huge red flag for me. I've used Miller and Lincoln welding machines for 3 hours straight no problem. 4 or 5 minutes doesn't give enough operation time for a valid honest review in my opinion as a welding instructor in training
Thanks for the information 👍🏻
90 day waranty is not good. After the 90 days your out $1K+
Here is my Honest review over priced!!!! plus you only get a 90 day warrant if you want 3 to 4 years thats an extra 60 to 100$........./ Want a welder thats better than the OMNIPRO 220 check out ARC Captain they sell the best welders for a very nice price OMNIPRO over prices their stuff same for Titanium You can get a 50 amp plasma cutter for 250$ does the same as titanium but its cheaper but has better quality better duty cycle I been using it for 8 months almost constantly I haven't had a issue Also about issues you get a 2 year warranty with them Harbor freight gives you a 90 day warranty unless you pay more money to extend that for a year to 3 years which cost a lot more money This is what I recommend if your just starting out and some of these machines pair it with generator and you can do mobile welding for light work for steel 1/2 inch for 6mins at 130 amps :) have good day yall Save the money
they were 98 dollars for years until the 70's when they got pricey
They are $450 now.
I bought the same gear, but I feel I need to add some welds to the cart because it is flimsy.
A review without demonstrating the welder is not a worthwhile “review” in any sense.
I can tell you I have used this machine for 2 years and it was in a factory. Duty cycle is fine, and the tig, you will need a foot pedal, but the performance is right there with Miller. You can buy a separate mig welder for heavy welding, or stick, but I have mig welded up to 1/2 thick prepared correctly but can be done easily. This is truly a game changer let’s hope they keep the price down
No you don't need a pedal for this one on tig... you do need it for the tigpro but the omnipro 220 will scratch start
Had one for 4 years and it is a beast. I own several welders including a 500 amp mobile, a lincoln suitcase mig for mobile work and this little machine preforms in the shop great.
So informative. Thanks for posting.
bought mine 4 months ago, still going strong and I like the machine BUT.... If I had found primeweld before I bought it I would have got the primeweld 200, it comes with a FULL 3 year warranty and costs less i'm keeping the vulcan because I do like it and i'm past the return point. I will exchange it at least once before my extended warranty is up
if you change the tip to a .045 and get a .045 wheel it will run on this machine
Old post: Acknowledged. Thanks for posting this!! I’ve had my OP220 for nearly two years and it’s VERY good to know.
I just ordered this welder. What did they charge you for the 2 year warranty? They quoted me around $250.
That’s sounds about right. I don’t remember exactly but it was in that range.
So, can the mig gun be replaced with a nicer one from Miller or another brand?
Good question, I do not have a good answer for your question at this time Jason however I will say the hardware between the Vulcans mig gun and other brands appears very similar.
you can use any gun that is compatiable with the lincoln 250/magnum
@@colencasey7761 Much appreciated info.
You know he'll switch hit when his channel is called "all American welding" and he has a Chinese piece of machinery he's showing off 😂🤣😂🤣😂 🍻
Hey nick, The name of the channel is based of my local small business. The Vulcan welder Is highly searched up online by potential buyers so I figured it would help you all to share with you my opinion on the hardware.
@@allamericanweldingandfabri7233 Oh I know, just givin ya a hard time. Keep up the good work. Cheers 🍻
🤣😂🤣
While typing on you chinese made phone...
@@allamericanweldingandfabri7233you are correct, that's why I'm here. I appreciate the vid on this machine. I found one local unopened brand new for 500. I think I'm gonna buy it.
Unless you intend to do large structural projects or are going to be doing metal build-up 20% duty cycle isn't all that bad. If you are building a motorcycle trailer or making a truck bumper, this welder is more than capable.
I have noticed that it works perfect for small project like you mentioned, only issues I ran into happened when I was doing continuous beads for practice
