Dude, this is legit really good. Reminds me of a lot of the old animations from back in the 2000's. And since I'm someone who grew up with a ton of those types of animations, I immediately fell in love with this. Add on the fact that I'm a big fan of this series in general, and you got yourself an amazing gem of a video on this site. Thanks so much for making this. I love the mother songs. I also wasn't expecting the Chrono Trigger song. Amazing animation. That was so awesome. I never actually beat Mother, but after seeing this I think I might just do it. Edit: I was mistaken. No Chrono trigger song here…

It's been long time since I played the game I had to double check that yeah; this animation is very faithful to the game. Just taking the iconic segment near the end of the game and putting it like this just shows how weird and unique Earthbound is. It's a bit shame that the game desensitizes player so much with all the weirdness up to this point that it's hard to appreciate fully. This is how you adapt video game to other mediums: you really respect the source material and then throw your own things in the mix on top of that, like treating flying men as bards, which really works amazingly well given the context.

I don't know why, but 4:53 after getting the eighth melody. It always scared me when I was younger. Amazing animation though. :D
