Give the poor people who produce those things for nothing a bit of slack. The factory owner is the only one making money.. If you want quality, we have to start paying for it.
@@mariabengtssonviking I've got no issues with them I'm actually really pleased with this tool 🙂 Sorry if you felt otherwise!
Learn the correct terminology to describe what you are talking about before making instructional videos. This is absurdly embarrassing.
Good morning, internet word police.

I was thinking about this. Will the top shelf block the light from the shelf below? I could be overthinking it. lol
@@brandyburgess8267 kind of; so in my current location I get sunrise in from the side; so basically I stack my plants in terms of their shade tolerance so delicate ferns and shade lovers on the bottom, mid tier in the middle etc. it's worked well so far :)
Score
ive thought about adding a diesel heater to my greenhouse but diesel is quite expensive in australia so im not sure it makes sense - how programmable are they? could they for instance be configure to only keep the temperatures just above freezing? i had also considered the possibility of using the exhaust from the heaters to accelerate the growth of the plants, i have read about greenhouses increasing the CO2 levels to do that
@@janramonmartin so this specific one does adjust for the temp but it won't totally shut off which is one thing I don't like; I'm planning on eventually replacing the controller with my own for that reason diesel here is about $4USD+/- 1$ and it only costs me about 100-130$ per winter it'a definitely a safer option than some others sometimes if we get a warm week I'll turn it off during the days (24hrs) id say most days it uses about 2 liters less on warm days more on cold days if you have a hot winter week like 40F it'll use about 1to half a liter
@@janramonmartin you could do that I would ideally use something like an exhaust cut off that's controlled by two CO2 monitors and a day night sensor, they still need O2 in the dark when they switch to respiration at night if you weren't gonna be in there then that's an awesome move also would increase heat
@@janramonmartin I keep mine set around 55-60F through winter and turn it up to like 70 if I'm working out there or sitting
Lookin good!

I was using boiling vinegar..if this works with water!😂😂
@@athomewithjenny it does! Two weeks in only things alive are where I missed steamer might work too just as long as it's hot enough to cook the root system
@@SwinglerBotanicals wow that's awesome! I'm gonna try it tomorrow!
Seriously???? Man, if this works, I'm going to donate to your channel!!!
You can also use vinegar.
In one week they will be back. There are plenty of safe herbicides to use. Read the label and save time
They won't the root system is cooked through and through with this method
The "repeat as required" is the most important part... Repeat, repeat, repeat, etc....
It's pretty effective just takes awhile to get done the first time, turns out steamers can do the job alot faster though, as long as the roots are cooked they don't come back.
Gosh darn genius!!! Don't let the chemical companies see you do this!
🌿✨️👍🏻
Hmm, I gotta try this.
lol it’s just time consuming
Little bit, not the worst, but usually I do these kinds of tasks between others so it's not too bad :)
Same time as spraying (but no chemicals) and easier than weeding (unless you want instant gratification) The weeds shrivel up and die within a day.
Less time than pulling weeds...pulling weeds suxs
@@OneOfDisease I second this haha
No way
Works great; boils the roots try it out sometime :)
@@SwinglerBotanicals will do thanks!
You're not allowed to sell this but can you GIFT me a cutting and I'll donate to your channel 😂
Haha 😂 legal area is very dark gray 🤣
This can't be real??
It is, it's genetically modified and approved for sale by light bio :)
Got mine yesterday
You mentioned about them not being overly concerned about someone taking a few cuttings from the plants they send to them which is cool, I respect there want and legal right to make money but its nice to know I can still fill my garden pretty quickly from two plants without worry of repercussion. Do you happen to know if they will produce seeds?
So how these things work typically is the genes are patented so as long as you don't sell you're good to go; the seeds might produce glowing plants but that's hard to answer because I'm not sure if they've got those in the plants in inheritable plasmids or not. Id try and see but the patent would protect any offspring as well so they won't be sellable either
I'm going to collect seeds and see if I can start some planters next year in my own personal garden so hopefully I can answer that in a year!
I placed my order this week, how long ago did you place your order? Hoping to be giving as Mother's/Father's Day gifts. Thanks for this video & the day2. Look forward to more updates!!
I ordered in February but I think that they're probably getting them out alot faster now I had to wait for the season to kick off I saw some people recording in the facility they have thousands and thousands of plants haha
@@SwinglerBotanicals thank you for the info. Will you be posting any new updates on Firefly Petunias?
@@gretchenschmeckpeper7545 yeah! I need to post one I've been super busy planting for the season but I have transplanted mine around week 2ish
Mien are barley lighting up at all it's a scam 😅
Give it a few days it’s probably still in shock mine glows GREEN the whole plant too
@@YomsTheProducer I have and it does seem to be getting brighter but it’s still not as bright green as yours I’ve tryed giving a lot of natural light sunlight and new potting soil mix maybe more time??? Thank you
@@BioLights24 that should do the trick I think, also I live in California so it’s starting to get REALLY bright with longer days. I started to propagate it into my pond bog filter / water fall I’m hopping for the best so far it’s going great
@@BioLights24 funny how this project didn't progressed much since 2019 when I first saw it in a lab. Told them that using fungi genes from a fungi that's barely visibly glowing isn't a best idea. Eh, that's an expected outcome.
It definitely depends on how much energy they get and if they're healthy they aren't the brightest thing ever, but I wouldn't call it a scam it's biotech it's pretty amazing it's possible at all; I do know they've partnered with another biotech company and have added some enzymes that increase brightness for the next generation but the tech is still very early so it'll be a decade or so until we start seeing this stuff perfected. I'm just psyched they glow at all! I compare them to glow stars we all had as kids in the middle of the night after they lose that initial brightness. Not obnoxiously bright but you can seem them very clearly if you wake up at night and/or eyes are adjusted to the dark. Plant health definitely affects that and the blooms are the brightest part. I'll keep you all updated as I learn more growing em! Happy planting!
