Hello. What paint colors go with driftwood shingles?

Thank you for making these videos. I am currently choosing new shingle for our home, and it is difficult to decide based on the small samples provided. Being able to see the shingles on a completed roof is very helpful.

Excellent drone footage! You really show off the beautiful colors and depth of these black shingles. Your footage not only showcases the beautiful shingles but also the excellent work you and your team do. This roof looks fantastic and this house is gorgeous. I just have one small suggestion if the home owners should ever read these comments or if you communicate with them, they should get their driveway and front walk power washed. It’s such a cheap and quick way to really improve the curb appeal of the home.

I came here looking for info on Certainteed's driftwood roofing color. This video helped me tremendously. I watched it multiple times just for the production quality. Wow! Great job!

So happy so see this video from you, I love the roof contrast to the house brick. If the home owners see this comment, my personal opinion only, they should get their cement sidewalks and driveway power washed. Oh what a difference it would make and it would really make the entire property pop even more.

That’s a very unique color. I typically never lean toward greens but I must admit, this roof really works on this house with all of the trees around the property. Great choice!!

Looking great! The home owner should cut down that tree that’s so close to the house or at least trim it back. It’s taking away from the beauty of their adorable house. I know it’s not your place to make this suggestion. It was just my observation.

I hope you post a video when this house is all complete. I love your attention to detail. It’s so important to me as a homeowner to see contractors that I hire pay such close attention to all the details.

"April 25th and 26th of 2024 I had a new roof installed. I'm 76 and my wife is 67. In our life time we have had 2 homes re-roofed, and 4 new homes built. In our neighbor hood in the past 12 years we have seen 4 homes re-roofed and 9 new construction roofs installed. Never in my life have I seen or heard of this. The roof was installed by a Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor. As they were also a new home builder we had them replace the aluminum fascia also. The shingles were Owens Corning Duration Quarry Gray. After 3 days and no rain we had brown streaks all over the eve drip and fascia . After a good rain the fascia and bottom 3ft of the house was covered in ""tobacco juice"". The rainy season started and every time it rains it happens again. It has slowed up but has become much harder to remove. A full 3 months later we have cleaned it 8 times ourselves and because of our age have had it cleaned 8 times at $30 a pop. The installer opened a case with Owens Corning and they replied, Your Owens Corning Product Warranty Registration Number is: OC-2024-WR-1876212. The formation of a “tobacco-juice” residue, so named for its color, is the normal result of the weathering of asphalt roofing or release of asphalt fractions from roofing materials such as shingles as well as base and cap sheets. Exposure conditions such as intense sunlight, air pollutants, accumulations of moisture/dew, and a prolonged lack of rain can cause the formation of this residue. The residue will not affect the performance of the roof and should not be considered a performance problem The residue is most likely to appear initially following the installation of the roof covering and once it washes away in the first rainy season, it is ""not likely"" to reoccur. I asked the installer to install the new fascia 1st so they wouldn't have to pry on the eve drip to install. Their project manger insisted to do it after the roof so it would not be damaged. It wasn't damaged but the eve drip on ever corner is a mess where it was pried out. So the 76 year old homeowner with severe arthritis and heart issues and his 67 year old wife are own their own to continuously keep the mess cleaned up to prevent permanent stain damage. So the answer from ""Best Regards, Carrie Customer Solutions Agent"" and the installer, is kick rocks. There's a reason you can't post comments to Owens Corning UA-cam videos or google reviews to their web site!"

You really helped solve a big issue for your customer by putting a pitch on her roof. That was much needed. As I was watching the video, I had one question and that was why did you leave those eves open so big critters could get in there. Then right at the end, you showed us how you sealed them off. Great video. The shed really looks nice. I know you said it wasn’t much of a pitch but it’s obvious in this video and it’s obvious she will have perfect water run off. You gave her a great solution to her problem. I loved this video.

Crazy how the "Driftwood " color looks very very different for the "Oakridge shingle" vs. "Duration shingle" The Oakridge shingle looks more of a soft gray variation with some warm tones....the "Duration shingle" looks more of the brown and tan.

That light colored roof looks very nice. It’s a nice light color. Looks so fresh and clean. So many roofs are so dark in color these days, mine included. So refreshing to see a light roof.
