I was born in Christopher at the Miners Hospital in 1953. My parents, and entire family of Roby and Moore, lived in West Frankfort. Both sides of the family were miners. At the age of 3 my parents moved to California, the place that has been my home for 63 years. After all these years I still have a place for Christopher in my heart.

Any family history on the Hayes and Dudley families?

I live 1 town East of Christopher in Benton Illinois

Watching this brought back many memories for me. My parents grew up in Christopher and although I didn't spend a great amount of time there I did visit some. My last Christopher relative Aunt Velena Steckenrider passed away in the 1980's so it has been a long time since there. Didn't know the Steckenrider's had their own block at one time. I do remember a Steckenrider building in the 1960's that also burnt down. Wish my Dad Max Steckenrider was still here to watch this.. Thanks for the memories, Nancy Steckenrider Rostock
