I love awesome stuff. Doesn't matter if its gear, tech, toys, hobbies, I have a taste for awesome. So here I will put short video reviews of some of the stuff I got my hands on. One thing is for sure - I'm brutally honest. I tell it like it is, for the better or the worse. There will be no fluffy, gleaming reviews of mediocre gear just because I got it, and I will always disclose how I got it.
About me:
I'm a recent dad to twins (9mo girls as of Jan 2022) which I am 100% hands on in raising. I'm a mechanical engineer by education but a programmer by career, and I love and do all the adventure sports: biking, surfing (kite, wave, sup, hydrofoil), boarding (snow, skate, really whatever rolls or slides), climbing, scuba, circus, really everything short of skydiving (yet) and motor sports (too expensive at this stage).
Needless to say, I go through a lot of gear and it gets used hard.
Would love to hear your feedback on my videos or try your gear if you are inclined to let me.

Is there such thing as too small for a mini ratchet?
Переглядів 2495 місяців тому
IMHO - yes. Bottom line for me, if this ratchet was another 1" long (1 more finger) I would keep it, but the 2 finger size is a deal breaker for me. Review of the 711l mini ratchet for EDC Mini ratchet comparison Icon mini ratch EDC ratchet driver

t1n sprinter van compass falcon 3.3 shock install tips
Переглядів 567 місяців тому
Although this install should be easy, I ran into a couple of problems: shock direction - install with the reservoir facing front e2e - even with the rear axle in the air, the e2e of the vancompass shock was a bit longer than my existing, and therefore needed to be compressed in order to install. Its IMPOSSIBLE to compress while under the van after the upper bolt is in place, so better to compre...

Simple water tank frame for under van/bus
Переглядів 912 роки тому
In this video I demonstrate how I made a simple water tank frame support for hanging the tank under in our case our school bus, but could also work for other vehicles, assuming you have the right dimension tank and enough space underneath. This was made from an aluminum L profile for framing the tank, (steel) unistrut for supporting it from underneath, and then 4 threaded rods (and rivnuts) for...
Simple efficient fresh water system design on van/skoolie
Переглядів 9682 роки тому
My overarching design philosophy on this school bus build is to keep $hit simple. Simple designs have fewer ways to mess up. Plumbing systems in mobile homes (vans, skoolies, trailers) can be divided into several parts. One logical part is the water tank (including fill, dump, supply), strainer, water pump, and accumulator. This is common among all builds, whereas beyond the accumulator, there ...
Skoolie bus musings

We have been living in our converted ram promaster 20' van for the past 6 months, but lately with the twins starting to walk we have been feeling that it is a bit small. The past monthish we happened to be travelling with 2 other families who are full-timing in converted school busses (skoolies), so we took a minute to talk about vanlife vs skoolielife vs rvlife. Tune in for our chat.
Brutally Honest reviews - Hydroblu jerrycan and filter bottle
Переглядів 3932 роки тому
Hydroblu is a cool little company out of Utah, who make various water filtration solutions and sell direct to consumer to keep costs down. There are other similar products on the market and although I dont have a lab to test the quality of filtration, there are many other important factors when choosing a jerrycan filtration solution. Lifesaver Jerry Can review
Переглядів 3862 роки тому
We fill up our van from really any water source we come across. Sometimes its filtered water we buy outside of supermarkets where we fill up 5-6 gallon jerrycans for $0.10 - $0.50/gallon, so its obviously cool to drink, but sometimes its at a random outdoor spigot we come across in the middle of nowhere, and we have no idea of its purity/drinkability. Enter the lifesaver filter jerrycan. It hol...

HYPHENATE LIFE sling bag review after 1 month use
Переглядів 6172 роки тому
What is your favorite sling? I have a self-proclaimed sling bag fetish, and I have now found mine. This is an amazing bag and the bag I personally adopted for myself after going through many (!) slings and researching even more. During the last month since I got it, its totally lived up to and exceeded my expectations (except for 1 minor drawback - details in the video). It’s a 3.5 liter sling ...
