HMX Sugar Rush Linear Switches! Array 65 (Sound Test)
Hmx just doesn't miss. Another absolute banger of a switch. Coming in at 35 cents per switch with a new mold that's nice and tight, offering virtually no stem wobble. A nice clack to them as is the HMX signature, but at a slightly deeper tone in the pitch. Consisting of a Pom stem, Pa12 top housing, Pa-2 bottom housing with a KOS Single Staged Extended Spring. A very nice typing experience with a 48+2g operating force and a 55+2g bottom out force. A pre-travel distance of 2.0mm and a total travel distance of 3.6± .2mm. For reference i would say these aren't as deep sounding as switches like Hmx Hibiscus, but not as high pitched as others like HMX TT Reds, Xinhai, etc. Very full in the sound overall due to the newer molding. For the cost of these switches, I'd say there definitely worth the pick up. Hope the day is going well for every, thanks for taking some time to watch and read this. Would love to hear your feedback down below in the comments!

Flip-6P HMX Hyacinth V2 Linears (Sound Test)

Using the Flip-6p by Daring Run today. This board is easily one of my go to's as i use the numpad a ton for work. The burgundy has really started to grow on me over the time. Thinking of force breaking to see how it differs, but for now we keep it no foams, to let the board and the switches really do the talking. Thanks for watching everyone, and i hope that you have a great day! Grab a Flip-6P...

Unikeys x Bsun Udons Linear Switches!

For months on end, its been HMX after HMX. To the point where its over 50% of my inventory. After seeing a few sound tests on the Unikeys x Bsun Udon Linear Switches, this definitely peaked my interests. Aiming to provide a nice clack that's not too thin sounding. Unikeys and Bsun worked together to bring us what I'm finding to be my new favorite linears. A nice and soft bottom out, whilst main...
UNIKEYS x BSUN Waves Rail Bottom-Out Linear Switches

The Waves Rail Bottom-Out Linear Switches are very interesting. First time on a rail bottom-out stem and I'm thoroughly enjoying using them. Regarding sound, I would consider these switches to be a medium pitch, not too deep, and not too clacky. Just the right amount. The feel on the switches are smooth on the keystrokes, and soft on the bottom out without the feeling of mushiness. Considering ...

How does this compare to the luminkey65 in terms of feel and sound using a foamless build? I’m trying to get either one regardless of the layout
@@CY-dt3gi In the sense of sound, it does sound different. The 65 in my opinion foamless on the Pc plate has a tad bit of high pitch poppy sound. Where as the 60 from what I’ve experienced does not. It’s a pretty nice sound that’s not to high pitch but not to low. The finish on both boards are done well. So in the sense of feel, the anodization was done very consistent. The 60 and 65 both have some weight to the boards. The 60 has a storage space for the usb c dongle, as well as Bluetooth capabilities. Either choice you go with, you’re going to enjoy! 😃
I see, thanks for the info! Have you tried alu plate for the 65? Though I wonder if luminkey will sell additional plates for the luminkey60.
I have not, only the pc plate. They just updated the info on the 60 pro with fr4 and Aluminum as extra plates offered.
Dont know if youll read this but how did u get rid of the top and bottom bar on the pcb? Cant figure out why its there or how to remove it
@@MaximusLiftsBig I’m so sorry for the late response, as I’m just getting around to seeing this. The PCB needs to have the pieces removed off. I used some tweezers, and braced them against the pcb. Anything that give you a good hold really. You gotta snap those extra pieces off. There should be lines along where the top and bottom pcb is where you want to use force to snap it off. @@DestenSheng If I'm not mistaken, that is similar to the HMX Snow Crash with the rail bottom out.

@@DestenSheng i’m all for a unique expereince
I really want that keyboard
It’s a great board. You can grab it In stock at a slight discount for Black Friday now over at Divinikey.
Sounds good. Would it be a bit too loud for the office, do you think? My office is open plan and not super quiet but still...
@@ym10up yeah to be honestly the Luminkey 65 is great for at the office. Even with no foams, it’s not too loud where others in the office are going to be looking at you. It also comes with a foam kit so you can always toss it in in the event you want to mute some of the acoustics
@DestenSheng I'm considering the 98 because I like to have a numpad. I'm hoping it's not going to be hugely different volume-wise
@ heck yeah! The Luminkey 98 seems very promising especially with how easy you can swap the numpad itself. Luminkey and Divinikey have them marked down a bit on sale for Black Friday. Now’s the best chance to get, from what I’ve heard the 98 sound shouldn’t be too loud for office. I get away with Hmx and Cf plates which typically leans in the higher pitch and I’m in a call center for reference of workplace
@@DestenSheng that's a good reference you've given me! Indeed the Black Friday sale is what's enticing me right now. I am completely new to this so I'm really hoping the pre-built is as close to what I need as possible. It would take me a long time to learn enough to have the confidence to play around with it
@ I think it would be an excellent choice with the tech it has. The pins make it extremely easy to swap around, when it comes to hotswap. Just be sure to seat the switches properly according to the pins on the pcb. I’d imagine on the Lk98 there’s ton of options which may cause the sockets the flip directions so just be mindful. I’m always here if you need any guidance or assistance with any of your keyboards while you’re on your Keeb journey!
Not gonna lie this sounds good. We're just talking about the lavenders
@@DadTech1981 Haha I know, made me want to give them some love and show them off. Not filmed or spring swapped but definitely worth the work put into lubing and bag lubing the stock springs 😄 really itching for some cherries tho. May have to grab some with all these Black Friday sales
@@DestenSheng get the hyperglides (mx1a) as they come unlubed. if you get the mx2a, you will have to deal with the terrible factory lube. the only vendor selling mx2a black unlubed is geonworks.
Duly noted! I appreciate the heads up man. Happy thanksgiving to you and the family!

@@DadTech1981 haha was loving how it was built, felt like it was time for some change. What better way then to pair it with a perfect keycap set 😄

Lmao all foams and an Aussie-ton 😂
On Luminkey's website it says it supports VIA but it doesn't upon testing. Contacted their support and got confirmation that it doesn't support VIA and only configurable using their proprietary software. I cannot even configure it for a split backspace setup. Only bought this because of the advertised VIA support. It's a good-looking board but really disappointed!
That sounds so nice. Where can I get one how much is it.
hey there, i appreciate the comment. Without foams it is hollow sounding, but in a good way. Force breaking definitely helped but i removed the force break i did on it to really hear the board itself. You can pick it up from KBDFans, from time to time it goes on sale for around 150$. Normally it goes for 200$ for the kit.

I wish the LX60 had this weight design it would've been a banger, though I'm surprised that this one doesn't have 2 mounting styles like the LX60 does
Couldn’t agree more. The LX60 is a banger but felt some marks were missed aesthetically. Personally I felt the bottom was a bit plain, and could have done better. Gives me ori vibes from the side profile tho which I’m fond of. It would also be nice to see a second mounting style. But with how nice the gaskets feel. I’m not mad at all! Appreciate the comment, and I hope your having a great day
questino is how did you know i was rubbing my eyes? lol
LOL, I was for sure rubbing mine 😂 All for $145? Nice budget keeb forsure!
question is if this one is better than the lx60 by bowl
Honestly the question I’ve been asking myself! I wasn’t able to get one during gb and when asked was told there wasn’t any units to review so I had to miss out as there won’t be any extras sadly. Would have loved to compare the two! Hope you’re doing well, I appreciate the comment
What are the switches inside?
Thanks for the comment, sorry for not having any info on this video. I believe this build was with the Swk Latte switches I got in the extras with the Qk80 from Qwertykeys. I have a different video with this out with HMX Emos and it sounds super Clacky! 💪🏼
How hollow and thin does this sound in person? If it does at all..
The Neo 65 is a absolute hitter. Does not sound thin or hollow in any ways in my opinion. The Unibody design was done really well and with the gaskets, i feel its the perfect sound whilst providing an excellent feel on the typing experience. A friend of mine and i have actually made it a thing to try and find a config where it sounds bad... Every switch ive used has sounded super lively, with no foams as well. Hmx, Gateron, Bsun, all of it sounds immaculate so if you're looking into the Neo, i strongly advise to grab it, for the cost of the board its one you wont be disappointed with! Im starting to increase the inventory of board i have in possession, and find myself always coming to the neo 65. I get the same feeling typing on it now as i did when i first got it and built it up. Hope it helps out
Thank you for the detailed response. You just sold me on this!
@ you won’t regret it, honestly one of the better investments for a keeb. It’s a keeper forsure!
"and with some minor tweaks to the fully assembled version" may i know what these tweaks are?
Absolutely, The plate mount stabs comes pre lubed and it wasn't bad but feel the lube did settle a bit so i just grabbed my handy syringe with some Krytox 205g0 and added some lube, and used a brush to touch things up a bit. Really all that i changed other than foam configs, switches, and keycaps! Thanks for the comment and i hope you have a great day!
What's a typical use case for a 40% or it just a collectors item?
@@thetreasonseason hey, appreciate the ask. For myself I’ve kept it on the desk as it’s been a daily driver. Only case I can think of that would help is the FishFish case from Divinikey. $25 in either navy or grey and it comes with preinstalled foams to fit board up to a tkl.

Your mic output is overly compressed and peaking to the point of distortion. Please check your leves.
Hey, appreciate the comment. Had some others pointed out the same and have since removed the filters and fixed audios on things. I have a short with the array 65 and it sounds much better
@tonydeveyra4611 practically the same but numpad can be flipped. As well as numrow up top.
I just learned about 40% keyboards recently. I love the idea of stripping off the number row and F key row because i use those keys so rarely anyways. Do the special characters (ie: ! @ # $ etc) normally mapped to shift + number row work with the numpad on this layout? Also, i feel like a southpaw layout (numpad on the left) would be the true ideal build of this for me. So i can crank on spreadsheets and quickbooks while using the mouse
Welcome to the channel, and thanks for the comment. I definitely hear you. I never knew how much I’d enjoy not having the f row or num row. Once I got the hang of layers it made life so easy. For the numpad. It’s standard but you can use Vial which is what I immediately did to add those special characters when pressing shift. For arrows and others like “ : , ; , ‘, and “ “ I used a separate layer so when I press Fn, it acts as a shift when I hit the other keys I mapped. It’s a very well done board, that will offer more layouts when it releases. I absolutely hear you on the southpaw. I have the Flip 6p from daring run which is apart of the same company. It’s basically a Hola with the num row up top. And that you can flip to southpaw with the numpad on the left. Just a recommendation as the Hola is fixed with numpad to the left with how the Pcb is
@@DestenSheng Yeah, I go back and forth about whether or not to have a numpad attached, or just have a separate numpad. One of the nice things about the 40 keyboard is that it's so compact and portable. Having the numpad attached would detract from that. I also just found numpads with small screens that can be used as handheld calculators, entirely separate from the PC. Another point in favor of the separate numpad, I think.
@@tonydeveyra4611 yeah the 40 by itself would be a solid pick up, there’s tons of numpads you that are out now a days and I feel they’re only getting better and better. Hope you’re having a good day, and thanks for the feedback. The numpad with a screen sounds like something intriguing for sure!
