    Our pediatrician told me to just bring her to church. We changed doctors. We're Christians, but it made me absolutely irate that she told me that. My girl has pulled since she was 6. She started with her eyelashes, then eyebrows, then "hot spots" on her head. She'll be 15 in just over a week, and she's bald currently. She's wearing a wig to school, but it's such a miserable way of life for her.

    I’ve started hair pulling disorder when I am 6th Grade, My classmates at the back of my sit notice it and I feel ashamed of myself like it lowers my self-esteem. My Mom said STOP PULLING YOUR HAIR! Even I wanted to I just really can’t. Until now it’s stressing me out, I always try not to do it all over again... But the day I notice my scalp having bruises/scars I tell myself, I promise myself to never gonna do it again. And it works, I meditate, I healed, I feel refresh😊🌼 Still battling these Hair Pulling disorder for months now. I feel Happy and Relieved😌🙂❤️

    Help your child manage urges, it can be done!!! Reduce their stress and stimulants. Throw sugar into the biology of an already anxious child and imbalances in the brain begin to happen. This is what happened to me.

  • @jessicasimonsen3245
    @jessicasimonsen3245 3 роки тому

    When I give up sugar, simple carbs and caffeine my urges become greatly reduced or go away completely. Also meditation, daily exercise and quality sleep helps a lot too. If those children’s diets were looked at it could make a huge difference!! It’s not a tic, it’s an urge. Ugh.

    I’m 22 years old married, and have a 1 year old. I’ve been doing this since the 3 grade to now. I remember the day I started, a teacher yelling at me for something I couldn’t understand. Stressed, angry and upset I pulled my eyelashes. Now I can’t control it I bleed and scab. It’s hard some days. A couple months ago I found out that this had a name and other people were going through the same thing. I want to get help I know I need it, and watching these beautiful young girls makes me want to even more. I hope that’s anybody with this problem has the courage to get help and to not feel alone. I’m here for those with trichotillomania.

    I started pulling my hair out when I was around 11-12 years old, it started with pulling the hairs on my legs then my head and now later in life going on 53 I pull out my head hair leg hair eyelashes eyebrows and pubic hairs :'( I didn't even know there was a name for it or a condition until the last maybe 9 years. It makes me feel even more self conscious and ugly and I have no support for anything including HSP BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS PTSD SEVERE CLINICAL DEPRESSION Misophonia WHICH I just found out online. It has to do with certain noises really bugging the crap out of me to where I get really angry. I have no close family or friends I don't trust Doctors or anyone for the most part so its hard to get out of the negative depressed isolated state then to top all that off my stepmom who was by all rights my mother passed away 3 weeks ago on July 22cd 2020 of ALS and she just got diagnosed in May of this year. Thank you for sharing this video it does help to know I'm not alone I just wish there was something when I was younger and that I had close family unity love and support.

    Im 13yrs old and i have this kind of condition? Im not really sure about it but i also feel VERY sure about this condition i have because i did the same thing as they say and what they have been through like "im the only one in school who wears a hat or etc" and "its hard when swimming, you have to wear something" Yes, i did that i did wear something to hide my condition when i go to school or swimming or at any events but my family says i cant diagnose myself that i have this condition because yeah i diagnose myself because yeah i pulled my hair, i wear bandana if im going out, i wear swimming cap when theres a swimming event(family or school), etc, idk im confused its hard living with it Its just i dont know its hard to explain and its also hard to just "stop" and for me in my opinion having this condition called trichotillomania is unacceptable for people like your family and friends(im sorry) they cant accept it and its true irl people get disgusted by it and scared, its true and its real painn that makes you feel alone and isolated and like you dont belong in this world(im sorryy ;-;) but that is okay just dont ever try to killyourself you have to think out of the box thats the wrong way to deal with it. For those people out there whos suffering with this condition now, please remember that youre not the only one who have this condition and please dont give up even though you think you should die because of this condition, think about youre future and what you really want to achieve that can make you have the spirit to recover yourself and stay strong i know its really painful to have this condition but yeah thats all. I hope you have a great day! 🌈🌻☀️💖☀️🌻🌈 (sorry if its too longg and sorry if my english language is badd)

    I’ve actually been doing much better these days. Just this past summer I went to my doctor and I told her what’s been going on and she prescribed me some anti anxiety medications and they’ve been doing pretty well. I still feel urges to pull but I’m able to control it way better than I have in my past. I think the last time I pulled was back in November of just last year but ever since then I haven’t pulled. I described my hair pulling as riding down a bike on a very steep hill and not being able to find the breaks. But now since taking this medication, my break less bike is slowing down more and more each day. And it feels amazing. I wish everyone the best of luck defeating this condition and I just want you to know that you guys aren’t alone. Together we will fight this addiction! EVERYONE STAY STRONG AND DON’T GIVE UP!
