    Great video, thank you! I'm making a cabinet with 3 drawers fixed vertically - one above the other. This cabinet has no face frame or shelves to support the slides (they will be fixed to the sides)..... How should I work out the drawer side heights?

    • @cristopian
      @cristopian 22 години тому

      I think I've worked it out. Internal height of cabinet minus (25mm x number of drawers = 75mm), divided by 3.

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware 20 годин тому

      Hello, Glad to hear you found a solution, how we recommend to find it is to take the overall opening height, divide by 3 and subtract one inch from the height of each box. For example, if the overall opening height were to be 15", each box can be a maximum of 4” high. At this height, the drawer fronts can be a total of 1” higher than the box. Assume that you have this split- 1/2” higher than the top of the drawer box and ½” below the bottom of the subfront and sides. Also make allowance for reveals. If you have further questions, or would like further clarification, please feel free to give a call to our wonderful customer service team at 800-383-0130. -Woodworker's Hardware

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware Місяць тому

      Hello, An 18mm drawer side thickness would bump you into the 3/4" slide (example B563F), and in doing so the inside width of the drawer box would be the opening minus 49mm. Another of our videos that could help you with finding these measurements is here ua-cam.com/video/vuH2q_vCwB4/v-deo.html You may also feel free to give our customer service a call at 800-383-0130, they are available Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm central time. -Woodworker's Hardware

    Hi Larry, Thank you for these super in depth videos! I am looking to install a pull out shelf and considering the movento over the tandem as it apparently can handle heavier weights (40kg instead of 30kg) I was wondering if you know whether it’s okay to install the movento runners but without the tip on push to open system, and without the shelf lock? Additionally, this shelf will be quite wide (around 1m 24mm birch ply) do you think that will be okay?! Sorry for all the questions - woodwork novice here and the Blum systems are incredibly confusing!

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware Місяць тому

      Hello, Movento would be an excellent option for your shelf. It is a superior slide in weight capacity as well as anti-racking system. That said, you would still want to use a lateral stabilizer (BZS7M686MU GR) in conjunction with the Movento runners on a shelf 1m wide. Larry, I see you used two fronts. One is visible and beautiful (dark brown) and other is hidden inside the drawer (part of the drawer box, yellow color). Do we really need two fronts or can we use only one (dark brown)? Check this at video time 7:04. Thanks for the explanation!

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware Місяць тому

      Hello, It is common on overlay drawers and inset drawers for there to be a decorative drawer front attached to a four-sided drawer box (this would be the dark brown one you see). In the instance where the application is for roll-out drawers (example: drawers behind doors as in the case of a pantry), just the four-sided drawer box would be appropriate (the yellow front you see). If you have further questions please feel free to call our expert customer service team at 800-383-0130, they are available Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm central time. -Woodworker's Hardware

    Larry, your video is straight forward and easy to understand! I have a question. I am installing FR771 for a pull out pantry and I am pretty new with making cabinetry. How much gap should I leave from the opening box and actual pull out box in width? Right now I have 4-3/4" opening width and I was thinking to make pull out box 4-1/2". Do you think this is too tight?

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware Місяць тому

      Hello, there is no set gap defined when using these slides. Since there is a top guide, your pullout won’t wobble. You can use whatever distance you wish if you are pretty precise in your measurement and mounting. 7:30 I would say, the length must be 723 because of the rear rests. Never mentioned in any tutorial ist the fact, that these rear rests are different for left and right. I can't say why. And i don't know why these metal pins going into these two index holes are not even; on the left side it's just 4.5mm in width, on the right side 6mm for the recommended drill hole of that size. I suppose that the left hole should be drilled 4.5mm. Could you please explain? Cheers

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware Місяць тому

      Hello, the location of these holes should be aligned the same for the left vs. the right. You’ll notice that the pin on the left slide is oriented vertically to allow left-right adjustment from the wheel on the right. Both holes should be done with a 6mm bit. If you have further questions pertaining to these slides, please reach out to our great customer service team at 800-383-0130, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm central time. - Woodworker's Hardware

    Im searching for something that would work on a 58 in drawer. I wonder if that is just a standard piece of tubing that i could pick up at the hardware store ?

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware Місяць тому

      Hello, the maximum opening that this device would cover is only 53-7/32. Your best bet with a drawer this wide is to go with a Movento slide, as it has a track system incorporated in the slide to help minimize racking. As for the tubing, The synchronization rod is made of a specially engineered aluminum and would not work for any other tubing. Can this lift system be used on inset doors? The manufacturer's installation instructions only show an overlay door.

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware 3 місяці тому

      You could use this system for an inset door, but you would have to put blocking inside the cabinet at the top for the hinges to mount and at the bottom to provide a surface for the door to close on. Ideally you could create a box within a box, set back by the thickness of the door. The door would actually be an overlay for the inside box, but would appear to be an inset on the outside. Please give us a call with any questions, our customer service would love to help, 800-383-0130. - Woodworker's Hardware

    Thank you!! Your thorough intro saved me a ton of time by explaining the mechanism and how the cabinet is attached to it. I had a tough time finding information. It allowed me to retrieve something that fell behind the cabinet and prevented it from closing. Thanks again!

    Had to do some very thick adhesive with a 12:1 ratio gun today, next time I've got to use it I'll definitely buy a 25:1 gun! Can still feel the strain in my forearms
