Listening to this funkajazzlic mix for the umteenth time and getting excited for DC’s Black Wednesday set coming up at SpyBar. I will never take for granted how musically blessed I am to be born and raised in Chicago and how casual it is to have undisputed House legends like DC playing so frequently and every night it’s a different mix and has been for decades. When I was in high school we waited for melodic like it was the superbowl. We were always excited to get the mixtape all you had to do was be one of the first 200 through the door. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d get to hear the masters. I threw a party with mark, Iz and Diz and AnM Recs showed up with a dat recorder. lol that’s when I learned these tapes existed.
