Ditto on Biden.
Sorry, but I don't think it's the latter. I think that notion is all part of the kayfabe.
Great stuff
The source of the electricity should be nuclear or renewables, not oil and coal and let's face it , US military and any war in general is not exactly great on climate. If Biden invested in electric grid vs military aid for Israel and Ukraine, and infrastructure of fire breaks so there is at least a chance to contain a fire, maybe portions of LA would not burn down to such degree.
Hope you make video on Trump invasion plan on Panama and how to defeat it
dang, i enjoyed the pushback!
Thanks for the great work!
Most older folks really yearn to see the good in monsters and become apologists to libs. Sounds like my mom.
A comment.
First!
I feel like the guest is underestimating the Right's ability to obfuscate the capitalist culprits of climate change with scapegoating. I mean, the country went through the trauma of COVID but, the outcome wasn't a call to invest more in a better healthcare system but rather a proliferation of conspiracies around failed government responses that contributed to the elevation of the incoming HHS secretary and just a general lack of trust of any further government response. The right could use this as a template to further obfuscate on climate.
Don’t forget Kshama Sawant.
most of the left is too exhausted to fight in the near bleak future. especially when the most effective action in decades hasn't been in the courts or streets or ballot box but rather in hands of luigi
So she spoke of TRL without speaking on Napster

Really just ~70 mins of a person remembering some stuff out loud. Flip phones! *shrugs*
Halfway thru & that’s what I thought. I was a kid in the 90s and these are my random observations. This is the fourth book after abandoning the first three? Checks out
battles of seattle, Philadelphia, and toronto
I would like to point out that there were plenty of Marxist teachers and economists in the '90s who were very clear about what neoliberalism was and what was going to happen, just because on CNN they were feeding people a bunch of bullshit doesn't mean that we were all wearing blindfolds in 1999
The thing that really killed my space as facebookers rising was when it was bought by I think Fox and just kind of completely fell off, because like you guys said Facebook didn't really open up to everyone else till early 2007, and at that point my space had already begun to see a massive pilgrimage of people leaving
i didn't know vocal fry like this was even possible
It's insane to listen to for this much time
@@EthanMitch yeah jfc, regret forcing myself to finish the episode
@pipefx64 it also doesn't help that her analysis is relatively asinine and im not hearing anything that's particularly new ground.
I didn't have the US government funding a major journalism project with Ryan Grim on my 2025 bingo card
I hear someone's animals in the background being mischievous , was that a goat??😂
Careful when referring to them as independent news organizations when discussing how they almost appear to be operating as 'government agents'.. enjoying the program nonetheless. Edit; 24:00. Well done.
So when is Danny and Derek gonna get a piece?
Good ‘ol Intro to IR 😊
Great discussion, lads. Ryan sliding in that juicy bit about the DNC hack at the beginning like he's got stories to burn.
That "independent journalism" on the International scale that exposed corruption on governmental level, pure as white snow, was too good to be true.
I am unsure what the point is if we are not working on a plan to eugenics the narcissism. If we eugenics the narcissism we won't have to poison the rivers to build the bombs and weapons and if we don't eugenics the narcissism then we can never not poison the rivers to build the bombs and weapons.
Excellent interview
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I think Van is right that the thing that separates leftism from other political isms (or should if you're doing it right) is that it's based in a coherent analysis that doesn't require make believe to paper over the holes in order to make sense. Like, if you do an internally consistent analysis of the facts of the world and history, and you're not a psychopath, you'll be a leftist.
great ep to end the year
I love this conversation but i think the goal of writing a book that's liberal facing ignores the wilful ignorance of the ruling class
there's always dissidents and changes of heart, even if not systemically
This is what I needed....didn't know Daniel got his PhD in history at duke...jealous
This is a banger of an episode, exactly why I'm a subscriber
I think this was really helpful to understand the last few years of US foreign policy. Id heard of Mearsheimer before. Im so glad I didnt get involved with the system. Theres no way theyre going to let us have power. We have to be ready to step up once theyve destroyed themselves.
Favorite American Prestige episode ever. No offense to Derrick just love the academic convo -- took notes and everything.
Well that just made this a happy new year

Im not sad. Ive sent the carter foundation letters and got a signed letter back from Jimmy and Rosalyn. I think he definitely did some really bad things in East timor and inflamed the Iran with how he welcomed the Sha. Ive come to terms with who he was. I was ready for this. But I do admire him a christian that is dedicated to the cause of justice for peoples. He supported palestineans and palestine as do his family. Hes done real good in his time. God bless that work.
great podcast. great patreon
American "Prestige"? No such thing anymore. Not after these last 5 years.
A chip sales ban is only “provocative and destabilizing” is the Orwellian upside down world of China and Russia apologists. I get that it’s really trendy to hate on the US and indeed there are many fair criticisms of US foreign policy, especially IMO regarding Gaza. But working in a multilateral fashion to stand up to a bully that routinely threatens their neighbors with violence is not grounds for criticism.

Ukraine provided an explanation for the assassination of Gen. Kirillov as retribution for Russian's use of battlefield chemical weapons [4800 alleged instances, no proof],. Kirillov had been in charge of dismantling and documenting numerous US funded biological weapons labs found near the border . Nulland confirmed their existence in early in 2022 in her testimony on Ukraine . see Congressional record. 2000 pages of evidence went to UNSC , without any action taken
