Likely wasn’t at the vigil, just like the dude in the pickup truck, the news was spreading, Reporters looking for reactions and got one. Reporter could’ve be referring to April 7th since Kurt was found early morning on the 8th. “They think yesterday” Vigil on the 10th.

I made this video before hand and posted it April 5th from Viretta park, people were at Kurt’s house-Viretta Park on the 5th.

I was invited but was young and said no, so this was literally my 30 year redemption creating this, feel free to tell us about that day 👇🏻

@@PnwOnTour Well, I lived in Seattle from 1993 to 2019. There were weekly, free summer rock shows at Seattle Center called Pain In the Grass, we were young - pre internet - and kept up with what was happening thru 107.7 and the local paper The Stranger. At the vigil though, it was just thousands of people at the fountain. I was 13 - pre drug abuse - and grown dudes were offering me weed. Security tried to get us off the fountain but there were too many of us. What is more memorable than the vigil happened around a week after. My Mom and I lived in the basement of a house off 50th and Meridian in Wallingford, not far from the U-District where Layne Staley was found in his apartment. My buddy and I were hanging out on the front stoop of this Victorian house I lived in and saw a Volvo 240 sedan drive by. The driver and passenger were wearing black & white suits and the rubber, Halloween Nixon masks. This caught our attention and we watched the car take a left up the way and park. Lo and behold - it's Dave and Krist! We followed behind and saw the house they went into. It was Krist' house - we know because we hid in bushes and spied. We patiently waited for Halloween and sure enough Krist was sitting out front in a pirate outfit. He commented that we looked older and gave us the option of candy or cigars. We took the cigars. We didn't know your not supposed to inhale them. I think he knew we'd been prowling around. I remember taking the bus around Seattle wondering where Kurt got heroin. I figured that one out at 16. Broadway on Cap Hill, then 3rd and Pike, then the seedy areas off Aurora Ave. Unfortunately, I found out where the heroin came from. I don't think I ever ran into Mark Lanegan - or "Red" as he called himself when he was a street junkie on First Hill - but I was on streets at the same time. It was easier to get quarter pieces of heroin on Broadway than cigarettes. Now the covid, bad policy, fentanyl and meth have devastated Cap Hill and downtown. Barely recognizeable. Had to get out of there to survive. Peace.
