That’s a steep climb. Lower part of South Carolina the birds talked very little this season. Didn’t get a bird this year hopefully next season

I like hunting low as well, but we can’t hunt nearly that low because unfortunately there aren’t any full bushes in the woods we hunt to get in the top of.

Alan.........Great video. In August 2014, I fell 30 ft. when a deer stand chain broke..... 6 wks, in intensive care. ONLY by the grace of GOD am I here today. Needless to say, this looks like a set up I could use. I agree with WaterSwatters that location and COVER would be key. Thanks for the vid. Please be safe.

Good idea. I hunt 20'. I tried 15 foot. But deer just seem to look up at me as they walk in. 20' yeah you can still be busted. But out of their walk in veiw. I gotta try a bit lower. Going start hunting traditional. Good advice.

I bought a couple if these for $25 about 20yrs ago. They're still in use today. They came with a chain to attach to the tree, which will never break or rot. The only thing ive ever done to them is put new cables on them. Oh and i changed the original hardware to grade 8. Yes they're heavy but i dont move them around. But for a $25 stand to last 20 years, how can you beat it!

I hunt in Northern Virginia. A lot of Black Bear on this property I hunt. Scat I come across occasionally. Got me a healthy Doe today. But this season I added “Bear tags”. Let’s see if this Big boar comes across my sight line.

I checked on my stands today. Lots of bear sign. 4 nice piles of scat. Being in Eastern NC we don't have rocks for them to turn over but torn up old trees and the like a good examples of bear sign. My land it is nothing to see 2 or 3 bears a day especially if I have put any corn out.

I've killed many of deer fro 12 feet up. Wind and staying motionless is key. I'm a meat hunter not a trophy hunter. Best of luck
