Sihlengeni Traditional Dance Group: Indlamu
Watch the beautiful Cultural Presentation from Sihlengeni School kids as they perform the Indlamu Dance.
About;
Indlamu is a traditional Zulu dance from Southern Africa, synonymous with the Zulu tribe of South Africa and the Northern Ndebele tribe of Western Zimbabwe. The dance is characterised by the dancer lifting one foot over his/her head and bringing it down sharply, landing squarely on the downbeat. Typically, two dancers in warrior's pelts perform indlamu routines together, shadowing each other's moves perfectly. Historically, it was performed on numerous occasions, especially when warriors prepared for war or when a harvest was celebrated.

Yes...kuhle lokhu. Kunjengoba kwakunjalo.
I prefer this one to isitshikitsha
Isitshikitsha is Ndebele, this is not a Ndebele dance, it's either Kalanga or Shona, so you can't compare the two
Great dance

Im so disappointed on sihlengeni primary members of not keeping a good record of music arts and culture especially choir we used to sing very good and went places but they is nothing on utube to cash up memories as we used to participate alot in terms of choral art and culture activities . I was touched watching tsolotso primary school showcasing their singing talent .
