My friend Richard had an M249 on a turret for an M240B. The barrel is shorter and able to go the behind the armor and he caught his own ricochet at the test fire pit with his left hand. Speicher 2005.

I sent the ECU out to have the limiter raised to the normal 83mph from 70mph and enabled cruise control. I haven''t figured out which pin is for high idle on a NAFTA 2003, but everything else is working great!

Nice. I’m about to swap out an old Vemco chain system this weekend finally gave up after 20+ years easily. We just got the house 5 years ago and I kept saying it was gonna go out lol well today was that day. But Super excited for an upgrade.
@Bstallday89 I would have replaced ours long ago, but we can't park in the garage, so having a crappy old opener wasn't a big deal.
Just be aware of the power in those springs and never work on them without experience and proper spring tensioning bars.
@xConstipatedPandax I wound them, they are bonkers. 10.75 turns each to balance them!

Or could you just put a pull strap around that lever? With a good bit of length on it you may be able to disconnect your bike from the mount easier as well.
@ryanloughridge For a while, I spaced them up, and it worked well. I was a little worried with the lever touching that floor that it also light not engage all the way and pop loose. Most of this year I've found they eat up too much floor space for my use, and they are currently just sitting in the garage. I bolt them in if I do a trip with multiple bikes, though. For local rides with a single bike I just bungee it to the wall.
@@smsauce that makes sense. I’ve never used this system but I’m doing as much research on it as I can. I used to have a van and while keeping your expensive gear inside definitely feels safer, it eats up real estate really quick. So I get it. I’m looking into a 1up hitch system but also seeing if I could integrate the individual van racks in some other creative way. Thanks for the reply. Enjoy your rides!
@@ryanloughridge I think the 1 and two bike setups on a hitch are great for cars. I'm leaning towards getting a VelociRAX for the van as a long term multi-bike solution. I also want to fab up a few of the crank arm holders the shuttle vans use on the roof. I think that would be a great option for interior hauling if I extend the rails on the floor further back.
@@smsauce the velocy racks have definitely caught my attention. The only thing I don’t like is how they are kind of all or nothing versus how modular the 1ups can be.

Had same partial bolt left in bottom of injector hole due to bolt extraction bit wandering off slightly. Used that same timecert kit but just wasn't confident in the taps "bite" (partial bolt steel left down there) so I tested torgue with valve cover off using old bolt and appropriate spacer and it failed around 40in/lb. The bought Bigcert kit which felt better taping/installing. Torqued that injector first on assembly so if it failed only wasted one bolt/washer. It worked and torqued up fine. Stupid me, should have spent more effort using drill guide to extract bolt as those timecert kits are not cheap.

Torque converter may be different on the 3500.. since my 02 3500 has the drain where yours is/was.
love it , i bought a cheap slide hammer just in case and the injectors just fell out 😂. i had the dreaded fumes smell in the cab intermitent and there was a small amount of clear liquid on top of the rocker cover. pulled them all changed the rocker cover gasket ( cos you might aswell while you are there 😅)

Also, HIGHLY recommend installing a cheap 12v fuel pump inline right before the fuel filter, and wiring it up with a switch on the dash. Make sure you get one that allows passive flow through it when the pump is off. I did that a few years ago, and it makes re-priming a breeze anytime you need it. $20 on amazon type of thing. Switch on when you need prime, it'll flood the filter and push through the lines up to the LPFP, and once you get it started, turn it off, and the LPFP will continue to suck from the tank (through the aux pump) like it was stock
@chrisjones5382 I was thinking about that after this one. I got stuck at a gas station and carry my vacuum pump in the van. I also wonder if I can just take the pump out of my '06 before it gets scrapped and convert it. I'll have to look into if it's just relays or if the CAN bus will get mad.
Where'd you get your EGR block off plate? My OM612 is EGR deleted at the ECU level and I'd like to swap to the 647 intake for better glow plug access, so ideally I'd need one of those too
That is just the metal half of the EGR valve. I cut a disk for the bottom and welded it shut, then welded the hole for the shaft at the top. Of course I only ever install this for pressure testing the charge pipes if I suspect an EGR is leaking ;)

@SlimTortoise I think engine out would be the most sensible way to do this job. If I had sawed it in half from the start that would be faster.

@cdkj8573 I thought I got them a couple of months back when the nest nest was small, then peeked looking for my intake bolts and got the fuck out. Plenty of them flying around. When I post up the van video this weekend, you can see.
