Blood West Is a MUST-PLAY Open World Stealth Horror FPS
Переглядів 1,7 тис.Рік тому
Fresh out of early access, Blood West is a stealth horror FPS with open world elements that is much more difficult than it initially lets on. Combat is slower and more methodical along with slower character progression and inventory management aspects that will force you to bring along only the essentials when venturing out into the world. While it clearly takes inspiration from older titles li...

BeatBeat Is a Rhythm Platformer Mashup That Just WORKS

BeatBeat is one of those games that dares to try something different through combining two different genres into a single package. In this case, a rhythm game meets a platformer and, honestly, it just works. Voidborn Is a Roguelite FPS With INSANE Potential

Have you ever wondered what a roguelite style of game would be like if it blended fast-paced, FPS style combat with the aesthetic and vibe of Dark Souls? The answer to that question is Voidborn, a brand new title that just released into early access only around a week ago as of the posting of this video. While it’s still very much in early access, there’s a lot of potential here with some inten...

Devil Spire Is an Insanely UNDERRATED Retro-Inspired Roguelite

Devil Spire is a retro roguelite that might remind some of FromSoftware’s King’s Field series or other dungeon crawlers from the 90’s. Cassette Beasts - An A+ Monster Collecting RPG With a 10/10 Soundtrack

Cassette Beasts is a monster collecting RPG with a heavy 80’s/90’s retro appeal that seems to cater to an older demographic. Although it can be difficult to compete with a massive series like Pokémon, Cassette Beasts does more than enough to carve its own special niche in the genre with a greater emphasis on exploration, story, and one of the best soundtracks I’ve heard in any modern game to da...

How Bad Could It Be? A Devil May Cry 2 Review
Definitely glad I stumbled onto this on. Actually pretty much agree with all your positives and negatives. Regardless, coming from an indie studio this game was very impressive. Just finished it today with more than 100 hours clocked into it.
You don't have a playlist of this game.
Game looks sweet,But,but...no controller support. Sooo FTS. :)
The catacombs had me running in survival mode. :(
Picked this game up on a third party steam key site for like a dollar, about a week ago. Already have over 20 hours into it. Super impressive for a small indie developer. Reminds me of Salt and Sactuary if it were a 3d game.
I sat here thinking "it's been a minute since Jonnybueno uploaded" and it turns out I missed this one! I love your videos and I hope you're doing well!
Thank you Janarik! Always appreciate your support. Life got in the way but I'm definitely still around and plan to get back to creating more content soon!
this game is a nothing burger.
Cool game! It was very entertaining to watch.
Spiders is a company that while I respect the hell out of, for their creativity and desire to tell their own stories, also lacks the technical chops to pull a home run. And from what I saw of this game from watching and LPer do a run of it, it I don't think this game does it for me either. There's just too many issues I saw that made me think this was worth my time. I do hope Spiders manages to pull it out one day, but for now, this ain't it.
Your voice and pacing are really really nice I'm sure you'll be one of those where one video eventually blows up and kick starts this channel to loads of views :D + Benefit of niche and eerie games
Game looks promising, but I am worried about how "trivial" it is and how many skills/abilities are kind of redundant. I mean you showed off a boulder that you can cast in order to climb on it to reach higher places, but... You already have a grabbling hook, which also gets dwarfed by the existence of a flying mount. So what purpose does it serve? I worry that the game gets too easy too fast, unless you set artificial limits on yourself to avoid trivializing the gameplay, but that just means ignoring the tools and features that the game gives you.
There are places where the grappling hook can't stick to, but yea, the flying mounts are a little on the broken side. The game does feel pretty easy at this point as well, but I'm sure once the base game is mostly finished, balancing will be done. Also, since it's a sandbox game, there is no real direction you have to follow. I'm about 15 hours in, and never knew of the flying broom until watching this video, as I never really bothered to go to that area.
Those graphics are a hard pass for me but combat looks solid
Reminds me of hyperlight drifter
Hi there! I’m the lead dev of the game, Colin, and I wanted to say thank you so much for your thoughtful review!! Seeing responses like this is one of my greatest joys as a game developer, and I know the rest of the team appreciates it as well.
Thank you so much for your work on this game, Colin! It was a fantastic experience both to play and review.
Looks like something I would want to try based on the unique art style alone. It's nice that the gameplay also seems like something up my alley. Makes me wonder how the corruption meter fares on higher difficulties, though.
Yeah, I imagine it would be far more difficult to manage on higher difficulties considering more deaths = more corruption. I imagine sitting at 80-90% corruption would be quite nerve wracking lol.
8:00 the minimap can sometimes give away secret room locations
Not models. Sprites.
This game starts with an amazing atmosphere, but it doesn't take long before you realize you have allies (I expected a solitary and gloomy experience), you can be easily overpowered and later scenarios are not as spooky as the beginning. I think they have a winning formula, and i hope I see new games like this, but I hope they make longer games in this genre with a more balanced combat as well.
disabled mode 0/10 footage
I might pick this up on a sale, thanks for the tip. (:
My pleasure :)
Dread delusion added to steam wishlist, thanks for the introduction, Jonny (:
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
I love how every game is called a souls like these days if you can find one similar element. Hell... Some be calling Lego Fortnite a souls like
Idk if you've played this game or not, but it shares a LOT with souls games. Some games do get the "souls like" tag that aren't really, but this game deserves it
Awesome video, underrated channel. Subscribed!
Thank you!!

The very beginning of the video is exactly what the thumbnail is lol. Reported for false reporting.
The quality of this video is top notch keep it up
Thank you!!
0:30 I never would have thought to describe Tim Burton characters that way, but I love it lol
Stick legs galore lol
Somehow, no matter how much of your videos I watch, I still keep finding out about more and more games that are right up my alley. Lately, I was in the mood for a decent souls-like, as well.
Glad to hear it :) thank you for your continued support!
I always love your videos because even though I'm not always interested in playing the particular game you present I am still genuinely in discovering new games that goes under the radar just because they are too indie.
Thank you! Yes I try to help spread some love for some of the more unknown indie titles - they definitely deserve the recognition.
94% positive reviews on Steam does NOT mean underrated.
Underknown maybe
@@blackjacka.5097 yeah, it's confused a lot by smoothbrains. actually these are two very different things.
Man, you definitely made this game sound and look fun. It's my first time seeing the title, as well. So, thanks for the review!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching.
This game looks legitimately fun. 4:50 made me lol
perfect shot lol
Huh, didn't know it was out of the early access already.
i am so tired of crouching around and doing silent takedowns and souls like and roguelike mechanics in games.
Getting really sick of seeing this asset pack everywhere though.
until youtubers won't stop shilling for them and have even a semblance of standards ( but of course it's dangerous to require, cuz you need to have it as well for yourself to not look like an hypocrite 😂) ,they will just keep coming ... and coming ...
not shure about the game but the citys look great
Please don't go down the like Titanreach did
20€ looooooool
It's worth it, at least to me. Even in early access and as buggy as it is right now, it's still given me 15 hours and counting of entertainment. If it doesn't get abandoned, it's gonna be a fantastic game; and to be honest, 8 months later after this video it's still going strong and getting updates, I have faith in it reaching it's end goal.
👍🏻 👌🏼
Sound good, i just wish it had different visuals. 😔
Your PC would explode if it had realistic visuals, for real. When you start mixing multiple fire spells, the particles alone slow the game down.
Gave it a shot. It's a lot of fun, though sometimes weapon durability and weight are just outrageous. I finally got a spear and it broke after two hits, and I was forced to run around with a rock for two more floors. This one time a merchant sold me a greatsword and took most of my health. It was good and all, but why is the damn thing so heavy? I kept increasing my strength and it was still too heavy to run or dodge. Eventually I found a zweihander and switched to that, even though it was weaker.
the atmosphere of the game was great, until I saw the demon loli whose design didn't fit at all lmao
Looks promising
Indeed!
It has been quite some time since I played some good sandbox RPG. I might try it, at some point. Although, I will probably wait until it gets further into its early access before getting it.
Good call. For sure needs more time for bug fixes and to expand the building system which seems to be the most underbaked part so far.
Thank god for telling us I was worried if you were going to play this game
been wondering where you been, glad to see a new johnny video upload, bless
Took a short break but I'm back at it! Thanks for watching :)
I audibly chuckled at 5:35
Lol flying opened up the game in an almost unfair way, I loved it.
This is pretty friggin neato. I really enjoyed playing Cryptark, i had no idea this was basically a 3d version of that. I'll have to check it out for myself soon. Great Review!
Solid review, although I'm extremely surprised to not see any mention of Cryptark, which is entirely what Gunhead seems to be based off of.
Reminds me a lot of the game called MOTHERGUNSHIP, was it made by the same devs?
Not the same devs but I can definitely see the similarities. In many ways this game is essentially a 3D version of one of Alientrap's earlier titles called Cryptark.
I heard Jerma and had whiplash just now, I can't believe that psycho was allowed in this project!
Haha I didn't even realize that was Jerma until I was editing this video. He's quite the talented voice actor!
This game is mother gunship
Definitely looks like it!
