Send up of Hitchcocks Physco edited on Pinnacle Studio 9 I did this to show in work as my favourite saying when we got very busy late in the day was "No Pain No Gain"
You can see it turn green. I'm trying this. Tomorrow! 👍
😂😂 best thing here are everyone's comments!!
I wish I'd seen this earlier, I've just brought an expensive filter and pump for exactly the same problem. Still, I can always try it out on my other pond.
If your UV isn’t doing the job, then change the tube. Only works well for around six months. If I’m honest the pond if far from clear. 🤷🏼♂️
Unnecessary long video. Couldnt u do some edit?
This will never work. Single cell algae will pass straight through
Put in a bunch of plants and it will be crystal clear
We don't want to see your yard! We want to know what you did about the green water!!
Yard....lol😂
The water still doesn't look very clear! You need shade and more pond lilies. I have a rain barrel on the downspout of my house and a hose near the top of the barrel that runs into the pond. Every time it rains the overflow goes directly into the pond keeping the water clear.
yep, looks green to me.
Though a UV light will help some with Algae.....in the long run it makes it worse because it is also killing off your good bacteria, so that you are fighting a losing battle. I am so glad for fast forward! Whew! Thanks for sharing.
I suggest you should watch this ua-cam.com/video/fkSFIGTrUNk/v-deo.html
lol
If you want to practice this method. Take one bucket watet one meter water pipe. Dip one end in water and suck the water from another end . Namh shivay
your method is good. you don't need electric pump.Just suck water from pipe. The water will start coming. Then you attache clothing. Try it . First practice wil fresh water. Then try with pond water. Only take care of hygiene during this process. Namh shivay.Nice Idea.
How will he suck water.... Without a pump?
👍
Beautiful pond!
ALGO-REM wouldve done it in an hour. Quicker than i took to make this video i have a beard now!
Like putting on a rubber.
very cool pond
That's a pretty good idea man
the problem is my wife don't use stockings hu hu
My wife does this! It works.
why do people not add plecos to thier ponds for the algae and the sides and rocks
Great idea!! Going to try this BC im sick of free floating algae in mine, within 2 days it's back green!! ua-cam.com/video/TkqwEgda1gM/v-deo.html
It has been very hot & sunny hear for the last few days, so i had to change stocking 5 times in one day. You can tell when stocking is full as it will shoot out small jets of water. Pond is still reasonable clear and imagine how green the pond would be without stocking . Have added extra 37 watt UV to my existing 25watt since last year so stocking seems to collect algae which has clomped together. Good Luck Best wishes Tony
That knee high would clog up in a matter of hours, Way to small. Nice pond though.
Yes it does clog up as you say, but you need to change knee high stocking every day, but they are so cheap it should't be a problem. You can tell when it needs changing as spouts of water come out of sides.
You could made your point and showed the filter in 12 minutes less of video. Boring video.
The advantage to a UV filter is that it kills pathogens. I was surprised too that a 10% water change kind of kicked my pond into gear this year. Your mileage may vary.
Yes a water change and a UV filter can really get rid of algae fast. How much water you change depends on how bad your algae bloom is
This is a GREAT IDEA... Just take too long for a DIY :///........ "Hears" how he does it? "Here" is how I "Here" it, LMFAO
hi at the beginning of this video it shows a large brown coloured fish. can u tell me if this is a silver ghost or koi as i have one exactly like it but its not like my other ghosts
Hi Joanne It is a bronze Koi
Hope you know bread has yeast in it and that will help algae growth
Awesome idea :-)
Hey Guy, That's a really cool idea. I'm going to try it as soon as I get what I need. The filter I've rigged up work really great to, but anything to keep the water clear is a plus in my book.
I try it , great results cheers
water is always slightly cloudy with koi ,I have DIY filter pump going hell fast but still a bit cloudy now and again
Simple but effective. I used the same kinda setup during the summer, I've even managed to build a small DIY sieve filter . Beautiful koi btw
Thanks for the vid. you are a genius.
Doesn't vegetarian fish eat algae?
a small bale of barley straw would do the trick by taking the nutrients from thee water!
Rabidavid bales take weeks to take effect. activated carbon in his pantyhose thing be more effective.
@@williamwulffleff6829 activated carbon doesn't actually take out algae. So it does help take out a monias another harmful elements. But it's not going to kill off your algae. Barley straw works by creating hydrogen peroxide in the water which oxygenates the water. The real best answer for LG is a UV clarifier. Using light to kill the algae. Dies and gets trapped in the filter. And then your water is back to Crystal Clear. I use my UV clarifier every moment the filter is running. And only turn it off in winter
Cant even see the bottom how deep is it ?
Bad video .
20 minutes of my life I will never get back. Couldn't you just state "filter the water thru a women' stocking" at the beginning of the video. Your water still looks cloudy.
Good point.
Yeah i didnt see much difference
Tried this and it does work lovely garden.
I think he just wanted to show off his lovely tiered garden, and why not? As for myself, I love a few curves in my garden, squares and rectangles always look too sharp unless you use plants to soften the edges, a little like Art Deco or Nouveau.
Unable to find the denim ankle length stocking. wonder if any other type would work
It's a knee high pop sock.
Frikking Brilliant!
I don't own a drill but I am going to purchase one. I had string algae and what I was using is something that I rigged up. It was an extension pole with a women's round Bristle hair brush attached to it.
Thanks - I'm going to give this a try, I'll report back with results.
I used a T-shirt zip tied closed and onto the hose, worked like a charm, I used a pillow case as well, removed all the algae and I can see the bottom of the pond again!!
I gotta try this .. the green is driving me crazy. My husband wants to fill it in and plant flowers!
Trust me filling it in is the best idea. You'll throw no end of money at it over the years.
Amazing koi pond. You should really consider adding pond plants to help eliminate algae from starting.
You've got to add a heck of a lot of plants to combat the algae. A UV clarifier Works far better
I must admit I watched this video and thought another UA-cam load of rubbish, but I thought I'll try it and give it a go.I attached the stocking about 17:00 and the next morning the pond was clear and the stocking was full of green mess, A ++++++ mate really does work.
I think it is easier to use some PH- (minus) to ajust the PH of the water which will prevent and also kill the algae in the basin. It is also less expensive and it is more natural that all those add on structures!
What is the oH that would kill off the algae and still ok for the fish?
Algae feeds grow better and faster with a high PH of the water, therefore the trick is to lower the PH to cut the food sources. PH - (minus) is use in swimming pool the fix the PH before adding Chlorine thus rending the Chlorine more efficient. You can by PH - in any hardware store oe stores like Wallmart...
Anyone that keeps koi and goldfish would know that idea is not a smart one
