Birthday Card-- Live In The Studio
Sometimes you catch lightning. When we went in to record Trying Time, my new album, I wanted presence above perfection, so I had everyone learn the songs on their own, but instead of rehearsing, we got together and pressed "record." This is the first song we played. This was the first take, and it was so smooth that the engineer didn't even realize we had started... thus the fade-in!
Filmed and edited by the glorious Nico Mesa!
Mixed/Mastered by David Lipps. Engineered by Nino Moschella at Bird and Egg Studio. Produced by M'Gilvry Allen and Scott Elliott Ferreter. Matt Goff on drums. Ben Berry on bass. Harmonies by Miriam Bolender and M'Gilvry Allen. Nate Dittle on keys!

The Tiny Desk Contest is a really sweet time each year to see what other musicians are up to and get the nudge to put something out there. This Fall, a bunch of tearful songs came to me in the mornings, and this was one of them. New album on the way!
Lost Dog (Jeffrey Martin Cover)

It would be an unthinkable pain to try to do this life without the fellow songwriters whose songs hold me. Jeffrey Martin's new album is a masterpiece maybe you need it the same way I needed it this winter. As I get ready to record a new album, it feels so refreshing to have someone else's song in my fingers and voice. Gear: Texosound EF86, 1953 Martin 000-18, Strymon Flint, Paul Trombetta Desi...

Just beautiful...
I absolutely loved this! The video radiates energy. The song itself is brilliant - the recognition that your pain is your dad's pain too 🔥
Nice job Scott :). Always in the depths
I felt that one. 💛💛💛
such a pretty song, Scott! One for the books.
Oh my how you've grown. Love this.
Love it! Yes, love is the solution.
Very cool version! Do mind sharing the tuning?
Thanks so much. For this one, I did something I haven't done before, which is basically open B. Same as open D, but way the hell down at B. Really slinky and fun, especially since this is a short-scale 000 guitar, so the strings are just about falling off!
absolutely amazing mate! well done.
Thanks! Really appreciate it!
Beautiful + soulful + sweet <333
Thank you! Three adjectives I'm honored to hear!
RIP John
such an absolute gem of a human being
Thanks for the insight! <3
Love this song, so so much!
Just in case Jonathan nvm.. I love you.
Amazing music and groove. Thanks so much for sharing :) Hope you're well!
This song started off my Oregon Country Fair on the right foot! Thank you!
Drop D tuning but what else you got going on there?
Hey Richard! It's actually tuned to DADF#BD, and the verse chords I use are just a G6 (straight barre at the 5th fret) and A6 (straight barre at the 7th fret). I don't have tabs written out for the instrumental part, but I do teach guitar lessons over Skype and would happy to show you more! Just PM me if you're interested. Be well!
Any chance some tabs could be posted?
Wise, touching, inspiring, musical and funny all at once. Brilliant.
You’re both young and vital and so naturally I wanted to despise you, but honestly that was excellent.
Saw you last night playing this at Power House on the electric- loved it
+Michael Strange Right on, my friend! That gig at the Powerhouse was a sweet night for me-- playing my songs at the foot of the the foothills for a bunch of fun-loving folks on my old man's birthday. Thanks for lettin' me know the music did you well. Means a lot. -Scott
Oh. My. God. This is brilliant. You guys are more than anyone could ask for. I love you all to death
