FFB joystick software anticogging demo
Переглядів 13 тис.3 роки тому
This video shows a software implementation of removing of inherent magnetic cogging (aka cogging torque) from a BLDC motor. As shown - when power is plugged, the motor movement becomes smooth.

Dunno how I missed this but just wow. If able to achieve this just incredible. VPForce truly is the gift that keeps on giving. Insane. If I can use as a flight stick and as an FFB shifter then just incredible. I hope this is one day possible. Then I'll have to rethink my entire setup.
Good day! Tell me if you can change the response curves of the axles in the flight simulator, to make the control of the helicopter smoother and this does not affect the quality of trimming??? Or is it not necessary that the axis settings in the flight simulator were only straight (by default)?? Peace and kindness to you!!!
Any info if this is going to be available anytime?
Wow this is a fantastic show of the software. My number just got called and i couldn't be more excited. Cant wait to do a full review video on my new channel once my unit arrives 😊
I'm eagerly awaiting my Rhino. The Ka-50 is miserable to fly with a spring centering stick and the Rhino will turn the werewolf into a ballerina. What grio are you using, the Virpil Mongoose? I was considering my WinWing Hornet grip as the hats are much more reliable. I'd miss the analog brake lever though.
How do you make?
Whats the feasability of using either more powerful motors, or increasing the gear ratio to increase torque?
great work! Rhino for everything :D
Haha, that's fucking awesome!!! xD
Dabar pusautomatį furom padaryk
OMFG!!!!! Yessss!
Holy hell!!! Physical detents or done in software? Apologies if explained in the video, I’ve watched a muted intro as walking through town at the moment 😅
done in the software. Rhino force feedback 9Nm joystick base. There was/maybe still is an old bit of software called FFShifter that was for ffb joysticks to emulate shifters like this.
@@PiNKMuDSimGaming thank you!
Ha, you’re kidding me - I never even thought to do this! 👏👏👏👏
Does this work well with DCS? Does it fit on a plate that matches the TM Warthog stick mounting holes? Does it have a helicopter collective mode, where it would stay in position when released? It looks very cool.
The madlad did it. While everyone else is trying to find ways to reduce stiction (static friction) on their joysticks, this guy goes in and engineers it into a system that doesn't have it inherently. =) Just kidding man, extra tuning parameters are always welcome, even if I probably wouldn't have much need for this particular one. =)
And two years later Walmis is selling as many VP force Rhino joystick and kits as he can produce. Amazing piece of hardware and software engineering.
TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY
Does this work in Ace Combat and where can I order this?
Know of anyone who has used this on a Honeycomb Alpha Yoke?
Reminds me when I used the Microsoft force feed back 2 with IL2 back in the day
How to order one? :) Thank you
Are you the guy that builds these? Someone pointed them out to me. When my 940 finally dies I might hit you up if so.
for spring, is it a gradual force or constant? in other words does the resistance increase further from center? if so is there a way to make it constant but return to center after as from my experience in helicopters that feels more realistic. thanks!
It's possible to configure it the way you describe with spring force saturation parameters
What kind of motors do you use?
I use various - NEMA23, NEMA34 BLDCs
Nice do you use them with an arduino servo shield or what kind of controller is necessairy for the stepper motor?
Awesome to see it in action. Can I ask how tall the base is, compared to the CM3's 14cm height? Trying to do some measurements on my rig
Hi. Don't you want to make dc motors ffb support?
Now we're talking! Thank god the dreaded patent expired, it got to be too much for those greedy SOB's to renew.
Is this available yet?
Looks great! How about IL-2: BoX support?
It's supported.
This is great stuff. I really hope more ffb products come to market.
man this is awesome. Found you through Flight Dojo's video and i'm glad i clicked through to here. I'm not playing sims much these days but if i ever get back into it i'll have to hit you up for one of these.
It is a fantastic joystick it's an absolute masterpiece!
There is a serious gap in the market for Force feedback sticks, a lot of simmers I'm sure would love to see these brought into a higher scale of production. Any possible team up with Thrustmaster, VKB, Virpil??
How can I order one of these please?
Hi, you can contact me via VPforce discord or directly here: order.vpforce.eu if you know which size motors you would like
Does the kit include the stls for printing a gimbal?
You can find a working gimbal in this project: github.com/farm/bldc-ffb-joystick-base
@@walmis Whats the lead time for kits? Same year wait for fully built?
@@MozTS No, ~1 week for the kit :)
Anyone try this in Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen yet?
i dont think it would work there idk about ED but i dont think star citizen has any FF implemented
A dream come true.
Nice to see someone working on a serious control loading system. I would be willing to support you by buying a prototype.
Please make video with isymetrical loadout when aircraft is pulled to one side. How does stick handle it ?
Is forcefeedback on/off option? Modern fighters do not have force on sticks or do they ?
They do, there have been issues with pilots having poor connection to the aircraft due to a lack of FFB. It is a controversy between Boeing and airbus as I think airbus does not have it.
Can this be set to be compatible with the VKB F14 replica grip?
I offer a VKB adapter that screws on a Virpil/TM mount, but VKB is not supported natively by the FFB board, though you can connect the VKB grip directly to the VKB Black Box with said adapter.
Will you have a stl file for similar for the gymbal?
Any plans for rudder force feedback? That would be both a first and really neat for prop aircraft/helis.
With this kit it's actually possible, with diy skills to add this to a current rudder set you may have, or could buy, like one of the virpil sets.
wow...
You have a customer here.....look forward to seeing the store and more details please.
WW2 pilots will go creazy and build up muscle ;)
How would you compare this ffb feel compared to say, a Microsoft ffb2 with extension and transducer mod? You've hot a work of art here by the way!
Not sure how much force the msffb2 produces with mods, but the Rhino is able to pull 9Nm - that is about 5kg lateral force measured at the stick attachment.
no force feedback except trim? can you test f14 or ww2 planes
It should work. It reads directx, so it should be the same as a Microsoft FFB 2 joystick, which also reads from directx.
@@aries144 I know it will work, I just want to see it in action
Awesome project, well done.
Shut up and take my money
Wait he neess to say more =D great project!!!
How heavy is this thing?
It's close to 5kg
