Ok do any of y’all play football? Cause y’all are saying it’s a legal hit when I see it as not being legal as I saw Gilmore jump up and hit Jefferson in the head and neck area. Gilmore should have just ran up and hit Jefferson in the stomach area. It would be a legal hit. I have even showed friends who also play football, and they agree with me. Some of them were even dbs who said Gilmore shouldn’t have jumped up and hit Jefferson like that. It’s not that the NFL is getting soft, it’s that we are trying to limit injuries as these guys still have to live another 30-40 years after they retire from football.

Vikings fan here. Not a penalty. The ball was thrown high and forced him into jumping into Gilmores helmet. From the refs vantage point it looked and sounded bad.

Good that’s what these defensive players should be doing all year long. One or two plays a game just lay some of these dudes out. Make them fear going across the middle or getting the ball thrown into double coverage again. It’s not that these players have gotten better than other generations. It’s the fact they’ve made the game so soft you don’t gotta worry about getting destroyed on plays anymore
